I bought a cricut machine without having any experience with it and I was about to return it back to store until I start watching your videos for beginners, your knowledge and the step by step videos are awesome and thanks to your awesome videos I love all the amazing thing I've done already, I look forward to more of your videos
Oh my goodness!!! That hack worked perfectly! I don’t have the CRICUT mug press, but I do have a mug press attachment that came with my 8 in 1 heat press. I also have both types of silicone wraps, but I haven’t tried the ones without the silver clamps. And I have only pressed mugs so far. That’s why I searched TH-cam for ways to do the skinny 20oz tumblers without using an oven or an actual sublimation oven. Well, I got a box of sublimation tumbler blanks delivered to me late Sunday evening (Amazon), and now I need to know the best way to sublimate them. Thanks for sharing. Your tumbler turned out AMAZING! Of course I liked and subscribed. 🎉
I’m going to try this today and make my first one for my hubby. Thx for the great video and awesome tips of the shrink wrap and craft stick! Love your stuff.
I just want to thank you and Angie Holden about making tumblers in the Cricut mug press…FABULOUS!!! No ghosting, small issue with seam but that’s totally on me and was able to fix with infusible marker and heat gun! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
I have always wanted to try using my Cricut Mug Press for a tumbler. Ordering the silicone wraps and shrink raps, now! Thanks for another great tutorial.
Thank you so much Michael 🤗 You answered my question of using shrink wraps in a Cricut Mug Press, fabulously 🙏🏻 Your tutorials are so helpful 👍🏻 Please keep making them for us ❤
Thank you for this video!! I have the mug press and thought I was limited to just coffee mugs. I just bought a printer so I could start sublimation. Now I’m ordering tumblers and wraps! Can’t wait to try it out!
This video was extremely helpful! I just did my first four tumblers in my mug press and they turned out beautiful and I also used Canva for design. So appreciate your video.
Really bummed out. I did everything to a T that you suggested. Made sure my shrink wrap wasn't hanging down to much near the heat platten of my mug press. Used a popsicle stick and everything. and the shrink wrap melted all over the platten. Too hot to get it off and when it cools I still don't think I can get off or even get my hand in there to get to it. I will stick with butcher paper or use my PYD oven. Just thought I would try what you suggested.
I recently got my mug press yay! And yes I love it, also must confess I been watching with your videos like crazy haha. I been learning a lot with you. 😊
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos! Thank you for providing easy to follow videos. This is coming from a trainer that knows you have to teach from the most elementary level!
Thank you so much for the video! I have a question for you though. I used the same wraps as you did but melted the bottom in the machine. Any suggestions on how to get it off the metal plate and will it effect my future mugs/tumblers?
Hi. I followed your timings however my background should be black and it’s come out brown. Also the peoples faces should be a creamy colour but they are a bit orange. I’m assuming it’s overcooked? How long would you recommend to reduce the timings by? Thank you 😊
i see where you put in the size of the tumbler template, but then you said it was on the left downloaded but i don't see that. not the template that has the dash lines on it?
I sublimated my first tumbler on my mug press without using the sleeve color of the design on the top of the tumbler looked faded. Should I just purchase a tumbler heat press or should I try again? Please help!
hi crafty im in need of some advice I have loads of failed tumblers so ive used paint tripper back to stainless finish what can I do with these now too make look nice
Thanks for this really great tutorial. I’ve been wondering and thinking about how to use the mug press for tumblers. I’m ordering silicone wraps now. I liked saved and subscribed so I can check your other tutorials. You’re a good instructor! Thanks. You solved my problems!
I just finished my first tumbler and it turned out GREAT, thanks to you fantastic directions. I do however have a question. Some of the shrink wrap got on my Cricut MugPress plate and it's on there good. Is there a way to get this off so the machine is not damages? I think going forward I may just us protective paper/parchment paper. Any ideas to get it off?
Thanks for creating this video :) I tried it and have two questions. 1. the sleeve melted onto the bottom metal piece of the mug press. Is that normal? and 2. I cannot seem to get rid of ghosting around the top edge. Thanks again for sharing this :)
@@jillboyce1197 I wish I would have thought of putting it in the freezer. I was so aggravated the thought never crossed my mind. Thanks for sharing that info. I'm sure i'll melt something else in the future :) I guess using a tongue depressor on both ends is the way to go. Curious, did you have any ghosting? I had on the top and bottom. Thanks!
I am trying to make some tumblers for a bridal party that I am in. But the measurements keeps being off . What measurements do you recommend. Greatly appreciated your reply.
I did do a tumbler and was pleased. The only problem was the plastic melted on the metal plate. What should I do next time to stop that from happening?
I wish someone would answer this question. Happened to me too. I had to place the press in the freezer in order for the plastic to pop off of the metal plate.
hi i love your videos!! very helpful although I have a issue, i have purchased many brands on 20oz straight tumblers and in all of them the paper gets stuck on the tumbler really bad, i cant even peel the paper off. I see on your video the paper comer right off, what am i doing wrong??? have tried this so so many times with less time, more time and all my results are the same, hope you can help me, Thanks
I'm completely new..thinking about making decals, tumblrs/mugs etc for now. What is "ghosting"? I've heard that term alot but don't know what it means. Also, is there a way to upload your own designs with Cricut?
Hi Michael! I ordered all the things at midnight when I saw this. I didn't realize I could use my mug press for tall tumblers. I thought I had to get a different one. However, The tumblers say it comes with shrink wraps. Are they the same thing? THANKS MICHAEL!!!
I tried this method but my shrink wrap ended up melting at the bottom onto my mug press! I gave it the exact time you said & I’m unsure why it melted where it touches the metal part at the bottom of the press so I just put a piece of butcher paper to cover the bottom which helped, unless I’m using a cheap wrap idk 😢yours looks perfect tho! Overall the print came out beautiful thank you for teaching this!!
Try cutting out a piece of parchment paper or maybe butcher paper to place at the bottom of the mug press so the tumbler will sit on it and the paper will catch the melted shrink wrap.
Came here to see if this happened to anyone else 😢 Were you able to get the shrink wrap off the bottom of the Cricut mug press?? I’m so 😟worried I ruined it
That looks great 👍 I think I would have done the shadow in yellow. It would of matched the color theme and would make the "sticker" pop. Can you use a blow dryer for the shrink wrap? I don't have a heat gun but I have a blow dryer that never gets used lol. Also think the silicone wraps would be useful in a regular mug press. I use my 11 oz mug press to do my 20 oz. Tumblers. With the template which templates confuse me for some reason we basically just keep it there until we get our project set how we want it then delete it? And lastly say I wanted an image on one side and a quote or some type of text on the other if I put my image on the right side of the template the text on the left then bring in the background I want to use. After I remove the template when I press it the image will actually be on one side and text on the other? It won't print all bunched up. My printer is set to mirror when I print so I wouldn't need to mirror on canva right? I know if you do both on design space they cross each other out and it doesn't mirror at all.. ask me how I know...lol
i would like to start a small buisness for extra cash , could you do a breakdown of the cost including ink to print the designs , paper ect....besides the machines gloves and all , just the actual costs in material to produce 1 like that , as an idea
I used shrinking wrap as you did but it melted on the metal plate of my mug press 😢. Why do you think that happened ? How do I clean it off? I don’t want it to ruin other items.
I followed this exact EXACT method and I keep getting a giant patch the size/width of the front opening. (brand new mug press) im about to have a melt down. I don't know what to do differently... I don't want to waste one more tumbler. Any ideas? I looooove your videos btw
I used a canning lid and it worked perfectly when I flipped my tumbler around.

Does the shrink wrap stick to the bottom of the mug press?
Love this. I was afraid to try sublimating a tumbler in my mug press but that looked easy. Thank you for showing us how to do this. You're the best!
Love the tip about the popsicle stick!
Thank you for such a detailed explanation of the entire process.

I just love you, you explain thing so well. The tumbler came out gorgeous
Just have to say I was ready to give up on my Cricut before I found your videos! Thank you for being so awesome!

Thank you for your tips. One of the best videos on this subject
This is another reason why I am thinking about getting the mug press and I absolutely love this
I actually really like the first glow behind it. This looks amazing!! Makes me now want to buy a mug press, lol.
Best video I’ve seen. Love the tip with the stick because I always get ghosting at top! Ty
Do you have a video on how to do this in design space? You’re the absolute best cricut teacher!

I use the PYD Life sublimination tumblers and really a like them. But I haven’t tried the mug press with them. Love this inspiration!

Hi Michael. I have tried sublimating neoprene lunch totes. A total fail. Do you have a video?
Hi. I followed your timings however my background should be black and it’s come out brown. Also the peoples faces should be a creamy colour but they are a bit orange. I’m assuming it’s overcooked? How long would you recommend to reduce the timings by? Thank you 😊
The tongue depressor tip is so helpful, I kept getting ghosting so I’m going to try this
What if you don’t have a piece of silicone or tongue depressor? What can i use instead for the top of the tumbler?
Could you use a regular plain printer for this?
I sublimated a skinny tumbler a couple of weeks ago. Thought about flipping it and didn’t. Wish I had …..Thanks again for the tutorial 🙂
Thanks for making this so easy to understand
so the mug press aply heat on one side at a time?
i see where you put in the size of the tumbler template, but then you said it was on the left downloaded but i don't see that. not the template that has the dash lines on it?
Have you tried doing this with infusible ink? Did the shrink wrap help with that?
That was such an easy video. You make it easy to follow. What brand do you use for your shrink wrap?
You rocked it! I didn’t see a seam and it was same level of brightness on the entire tumbler 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Do you have to use the shrink wrap and silicone wrap or could you just use butcher paper to wrap around it?
For tumblers you need to use something to make it tight. It is usually for mugs which fit snug in the mug press.
Really great video! This newbie is grateful ❤
Can someone please tell me what it was he used when removing the wrap and tape? 🙏
Awesome! We have those blanks too! Love your works!🥰
when you printed out the design did you print it onto sublimation paper?!
THis turned out so beautiful! I would love to add tumblers and mugs to my shop at some point!
I actually sublimated the tumbler that came in the craftoween mystery box using my Cricut mug press & no wrap!
I sublimated my first tumbler on my mug press without using the sleeve color of the design on the top of the tumbler looked faded. Should I just purchase a tumbler heat press or should I try again? Please help!
What shrink wraps do I buy? I’m in UK. thanks
My image was sweating underneath the blue silicone wrap and it distorted image in places, how can I fix or what am I doing wrong
Also do you need to wrap in butcher paper, I see you didn't but would it be wise to? to not melt the insert?
that came out really great. maybe i will break out my mug press and use it for a couple of tumblers
why do you need the shrink wrap for?
Did you use inkjet or sublimating ink in your printer?
White definitely

You don't have to worry about the middle part of the tumbler being over done, as parts of it might be done twice?

Sublimation paper, uses a printer with special ink for sublimation. Cannot be done with a regular printer.
