    Thanks for showing us the mistakes too. You watch all these videos and when you mess everything up the first time you try, and you watch all of these perfect videos (which I know they don’t always go perfect “, you start to feel like you can’t do anything right! In reality, it does take some mistakes to perfect these things! I have lightened up a lot! I appreciate your videos, a lot!

    Just an FYI, saw another video where they tried infusible ink on tumbler, flipping it like you in Cricut Mug Press and it did the same as yours. They think the heat reheats the infusible ink when flipped and fades it and makes those markings.

      Something DEFINITELY happens with the Infusible Ink that is different.

    • @AngieHolden

      I do a slight overlap a lot as I personally do better with that. To line up properly, cut the bottom of your paper straight so that you can rest is on the table as your wrap around with your tumbler standing up. Then the entire thing will be straight.

    Great information! Question, though. Are you suggesting ONLY using sublimation prints and not the infusible ink? The green has more of a turquoise look to it and the melon part is more orange/pink versus both the green and the pink of yours. I am not sure what to do to adjust. @@AngieHolden I did watch and have a question but..... So first, after I sent that comment I ran into all sorts of problems with my printer - my entire printer was clogged up and no color would print out of it at all. It was crazy! After working on it for hours and hours, I finally figured that it was the dampers where the ink flows from the tubes into and then into the print heads. There was literally no ink in them. They were totally dry. So I finally got that resolved with a syringe and pulling ink through. If you ever want help on making a video on that because it's a huge issue, I am happy to share with you what I had to do to fix it. Then you could make a helpful video about it. It's literally an intense process but it works and it saves you from doing a power cleaning which ends up wasting up to 1/3 of your ink reservoirs. While everyone talks about power cleaning, etc, the dos and donts of performing that process, not very many people realize the issue could be with the dampers being clogged instead. But anyway, I finally got that resolved and I'm back to the tumbler color itself. Possible to just move the cyan down a little? Or the yellow up a little to get that green to be not such a dark green but more the melon color it should be? Not sure which way to go in all honesty! LOL

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It may be trial and error. I would print and press on some cheap 100% polyester fabric until you get the color you want.

    • @pattibaileydesigns
      @pattibaileydesigns 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AngieHolden Yep, I have been using polyester fabric as my test prints. I don't want to ruin a tumbler. I even pressed on a Cricut Mug (a small section) just to see if there is a difference...nope. No difference. I just cant seem to get that melon rind a brighter/lighter green. I try to turn cyan down, turn yellow up, etc - and the color does not barely change. I give up I think with this one design. And I LOVE yours.

    Just thought I would say I have used a silicone baking mat cut up and put around in layers to close the gaps for the skinny tumblers and/or anything else that is too small for sublimation with printed infusible ink. It worked just fine. Maybe test that out on a video sometime to see if you get good results as well.

    Thanks for this video. Just starting out with sublimation. I'm doing my first tumblers this weekend. Question, when you did the 2nd pass at the tumbler and taped the image inside the tumbler, did you add protective paper inside to prevent bleeding into the mug press? Thanks

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am not sure what this references but anything inside wouldn't bleed out to the mug press sides.

    Loved your video but have a question. Using infusible ink transfers on a stainles steel tumbler do you have to use a longer time for it. I tried and it didn't hardly show. I was using the inserts which are great. Help please

      With this press, it is sometimes tough to dial in how much time you need. You may need more depending on the blank.

    why do u have to rotate it? dosent it do the hole bottom in one go? on both sides?

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a gap in the front when you close it. It is for the handle of the mug. In this case, we want to do a full wrap so we would need to rotate to sublimate that strip.

    I haven't seen the mug press IRL, but it looks like a button on the bottom where the mug sits, so upside down, it would go around that & lower in the machine missing full heat. Never thought about it before seeing this. Thank you!!

    Great video Angie! Thanks for finding a product that creates that tight fit we need. You mentioned that when you flip the skinny tumbler, you should lift it slight off the bottom of the press. Shouldn't you do that for both the top and the bottom so neither end touches the bottom? If not, can you explain why? Thanks so much and again, great video - as always! :)

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It is fine to touch the bottom plate. However, when you flip it, the tumbler is open and will NOT touch the bottom plate but instead go around it. So it actually goes in LOWER than the tumbler inserted with the bottom side down.

    Hello, I have a question. I already made two 20oz tumblers. I left the first one a minute more on each side, after the first side is made by the mug and it burned in the middle part. I tried it again but now only one minute instead of two as you indicated but the one-sided design burned very little. What could it be ? If I do what you do Thanks in advance
