They talk to him with the same level of respect as they do Bjorn, probably even a bit more because they know Ivar is crazy and willing to do anything to prove himself. But I do like that they’re not easy on him due to his physical limitations.
Ubbe has always known how dangerous Ivar was I’m pretty sure he even states that himself but you can see it with how he moves or looks at Ivar sometimes

It's because they know Ivar has these ideas out in his head by mommy, and they 1) grew up with him and see him as a person and their brother and know exactly what he's capable of 2) treat them the way daddy taught them to by respecting Ivar and expecting him to do his best always and 3) they need to call him on his BS. They're his brothers and they handle everything exactly perfectly and keep their tones calm and even. They lay it all out. I like the the first few episodes of season five with Ivar and his brothers in Northumbria butting heads with Æthelwulf and Heahmund. Should of kept York/Eoforwic a more central story arc than the “brother civil war” which I did not like that much

I like the the first few episodes of season five with Ivar and his brothers in Northumbria butting heads with Æthelwulf and Heahmund. Should of kept York/Eoforwic a more central story arc than the “brother civil war” which I did not like that much
