LEXUS made a proper luxury car on the TOYOTA Yaris platform. Something AUDI keeps failing to do with their VW platforms, and ends up with overprived Golfs, Crosses and Tiguans.
Good to see a car like this. You used to be able to buy a Renault 5 Monaco, 205 Roland Garos, Metro Vanden Plas etc then they all abandoned top trims and went cheap. I want a small, more luxurious car and this fits the bill.
Wow, I come from a time when wings rusted and needed welding back on, windows leaked, heaters didn't work until you had driven several miles, if it started first time it was a bonus and even wheels fell off ( yes one of mine did on a Morris Ital ) my dads car had a starting handle !!!!!! this car was the stuff of dreams back then, it makes me laugh when some criticize it 🙂 This is definitely top of my shortlist, I currently have a Mokka which is great, but I need a non manual now and a bit more luxury.
I have just bought one a premium plus design. I was a real CVT hater but for the kind of driving I do now I’m actually fairly happy with it. Mind if the RR Morizo comes to the UK I’ll be one of the first to order one. Just one question? How many times did you walk round this car? LoL 😂
A very thorough review, covering a lot of (perhaps) minor (but non-the-less important to some) points often not covered in a typical YT review. I'm a pensioner an I currently have a Toyota C-HR which has the brands planetary gear CVT sytem. I have been amazed at the smoothness and efficiency of it's operation, so the LBX installation must be even better. This review mentions to the effect that Lexus didn't try to create a 'made down to a price' build. They certainly managed that (!) but (as an example) not including a 'through' hatch in the rear seat was penny (yen 😂) pinching ! One slight critique if I may : I'm a pensioner who likes the concept of this car (based on my C-HR experience) and a majority of my driving is on urban roads. As is often the case with YT reviews ... most of the 'on-the-move' ride assessment was (apart from emerging from junctions) scuttling along country lanes (I ride a motocycle as well so do enjoy that). I've seen other reviews which refer to the slightly 'fidgety' nature of the LBX's slower speed ride . Apologies if I missed a reference to that inherent nature of the car here, but, with the poor state of the UK's modern roads, that could potentionally be a deal-breaker from my perspective ! I don't have knowledge of a 'typical' Lexus driver's style in my mind (unlike the strereotypical view of Audi drivers !) but I'm guessing the typical LBX purchaser would not likely be a regular lane-racer (although good to know the car's capabiliies, for sure).
CVT as part of a hybrid system is far more effective than with a standard non hybrid engine. Allows seemless transition between modes in normal UK driving.
The tyres look too big I would prefer to see lower profile ones with a bigger wheel. I love the fact that a premium small car is here and who better than Lexus to bring it. The top of the range is however very expensive and I’m that person who loves their Mark Levinson hifi and as I’m looking to change down from an NX to a smaller size and still wanting that premium feel.
Not for me: big wheels and narrow tyres may look sporty, but they don't absorb the bumps on our poor road surfaces, they are less fuel-efficient than small wheels and normal tyres, and the wheels are likely to be damaged scraping on kerbs.
Too underpowered for a Lexus, just not good enough I'm afraid. Needs a bigger four cylinder engine for a car of this size for a smoother more refined driving experience.
You have plenty of 'basic' cars in this segment. Whole point is to sell something different. Something which other brands seems to be abandoning at all.
We collect our top spec 4WD red and black LBX on Monday in QLD having ordered it in January. This review tells me so much about the car that I can’t hope to remember. It is probably telling me that our NX450H+ fSport plug-in hybride is more fully optioned than I can understand. We arrive home on Friday morning to have our NX delivered to Brisbane airport by the Lexus dealer having stored it free of charge for the past 37 days whilst we have been in Japan and Taiwan. BMW didn’t even give me a free hat.
I've had mine for two weeks and managed to get an average of 22.5 km/l. it's incredibly efficient.

Audi is synonymous with incompetent so it's not a surprise
Best review channel and best narration
Other reviewers I would also always recommend are Autogefuhl and The Car Care Nut.
Wow, thanks!
Definitely going to be the next car I will purchase soon love it
Hope you enjoy it

would be good if they put the 200hp toyota hybrid in there

Great review. Just waiting to see what changes they make for 2025 before ordering.
I enjoyed watching the Video Review, more stylish than the Toyota Yaris Cross 😊
Thanks!
Is there a problem with 12v battery and has the problem been fixed? I have stopped my order for now pending confirmation problem fixed.

lovely shade of blue

It is noisy when it revs in early gears, but it you do not notice the gear changes. it's very smooth (perhaps a bit too smooth for some people).
@@neothaka No gearchanges eCVT 2x planetary gearsets no belts or clutches to break
Another excellent review, Many thanks 👍
Appreciate it
A bit confused why lexus designers rejected of using l finess in front wiew. But anyway lbx is attractive. Waiting for ct200h to be reborn
Great video...shame they only give you the base model 🧐🤣... I feel you was a bit annoyed by that 😛

I’ve had RXs an NX, a UX and now this…….i absolutely love it. Got the Takumi. Fuel efficiency is phenomenal
Will the LBX Morizo RR with the manual transmission and GR Yaris engine be coming to the UK?
Just why
@@rodbtelenetbe Why not?

CVT transmission in a luxury car?
😲🥱😴
All Lexus/Toyota Hybrid cars are using CVT transmission which is more efficient and more reliable than dual clutch transmission.
It's not a CVT but an E-CVT, educate yourself.
This seems like a lot of nanny tech in what should be a basic car.

How did the 12vt battery handle the long wait? They supposedly dont hold a charge too long.
Amazing detailed review. Thank you.
Appreciate that
