Your doin God's work. Im currently building my 72 K20 4x4 4speed manual. Im doin the exact same thing, using a 2 wheel drive cab. Cab is overall good just needs some patch panels. 6 inch lift. 14 bolt rear. Some shackles from hogback. Steering box brace from offroad design. 400 small block is my plan. Just wish i had more time

This truck is turning out awesome! Great work on it and sweet score on that C donor body! It's tough to find one that straight with original paint these days. You have some killer stuff!

I’m in the process of getting this exact same thing going . I’ve got lots of 2nd gens (10) just want to get as many as possible road worthy . I’ve got k frames with mint c bodies. The one I’m starting is a 70 c20 on a 71 k frame most everything else is 67 models. Gonna be busy for the next 10 yrs but it has become an addiction. I will be picking your brain a lot. Thanks for posting. very helpful

I have a 1971 c20 that has 4x4 someone put it in at some point I have to do some repairs to it can you do some close-up views of the front suspension of the hangers and leaf springs cuz I cannot find a good reference anywhere because the work they did is questionable and I want to make it right

Nice build! Shoot some clear matte on those tow hooks. Looks rusted but protected.

A 67-72 4x4 is a dream truck of mine. If you’re ever interested in selling one, I’m interested.

i have a 68 1/2 ton and a 68 3/4 ton don't chevy use the same frame for both , both are 2 wheel drive i had to do a few fords axles and they are different on a ford asking u is easy'er then going out there with a tape but if i am right both use the same holes to mount the suspension. this way I can restore one frame and still drive my pu have most of the parts to build one but want it to be a 1/2 ton

On the 4x4s the frames are the same. From what I have seen most of the 1/2ton 2wds have a coil rear suspension and 3/4 tons have leaf springs.

Just stop and think about it now buddy!! Would it not have been much easier, smarter(as far as title trueness etc.) to of just been patient and found a rust-free K20(of which there is alot of left yet) out west to do your build--up. You will spent literally thousands of $ making a 4x4 and the title, SPID sticker in glovebox, and rear pillar of drivers side in cab will reflect a 4x2. Worth from 10K-20K less because of it. I have body-off-frame, bought and sold just over 400 of these '67-'72 Chevy/GMC 4x4 trucks since 1980. Never did a "fake" truck---NEVER !!!! Had spotters out east of the Cascades in the desert lowland that located rigs. I tell all the builders doing what you did the same thing, basically for their own good. Jim

You do know I also have a 72 k20 Cheyenne I’m working on as well.
But as far as this truck goes I have no plans to sell the truck. Second I have very little money in this truck. I’m almost done with it and I have about $4000 in it not that it is any of your business anyways. I also think you are behind the times. The gap between converted trucks is not what it use to be.
I’ve seen 2-4wd conversions go for big money anyways. Also I’ve seen short bed conversions bring damn near original short bed prices. Anyways I like to save all the trucks I can. The green truck was a friend of mines and it was worth keeping whatever I could of the truck on the road. The body was to far gone. It’s not all about money for me. I appreciate The comment James

@@jmacsgarage There is a saying take it or leave and ignore it- a smart man should always listen to advice of a smarter man. You if anyone is behind the times. When this gen. of truck is so out of reach for 90% of the population, what will happen??? Hint-- Use the cost/demand theory. People, at least the majority of them will turn to the next best thing --hint, that being the squarebody. This in turn will drop down the demand for these trucks of ours and quit the demand for these half breed trucks like yours and my case is made. I didn't take general business and finance in college for nothing buddy. You can get all the cocky as you want but you know in your heart that I am right. You ask any reputable builder west AND east of the Mississippi River if my or your reasoning is correct. Don't take my advice. I was setting boxes on frames when you weren't even a bone in your dads boxers. Remember that. I gave you a positive rating even though we disagree, that's in my book the way to solve problems and get along. Jim
