My first vehicle was a 1972 C10. It was so much fun. It was a rust bucket, always something falling off, floors had holes, legs got wet in the rain, always had to fix or patch something. However it was my first vehicle and it taught me so much about maintenance how to fix things. Over the years and a several different vehicles it is the only one I truly miss. I have 72 3/4 ton 4x4 350/th350 camper special that my dad bought new. I have done a frame off resto on slightly moded with a6inch lift and 35 inch tires. And a 71 blazer same set up. These are the best and tuffest trucks that were ever created. Simple to work on reliable and really cool body lines. My favorite trucks of all time. I will eventually build a 71 crew cab short bed 3/4 ton 4x4 with a Duramax and Allison 6speed. When I find the right body doner and suburban doner and use my 2003 Silverado Duramax 3/4 ton for the running gear. And when I find the time.

I saw this on GM Authority yesterday. I love this series of Chevy trucks, and owned a '69 in that color scheme. Would seriously consider buying one if the price was reasonable. At that price, I can keep my RST, buy a '72 (with factory air) and purchase a C8. But still a tasteful mod in my opinion.

@@ericeaton371 mmmm ... kinda ... for a few years they offered a HEAVY duty 1/2 ton ( including a 1/2 ton with a 6.5l diesel - my neighbor owned one) BUT ... they were 6 lug. i believe the ONLY 6 lug 3/4 ton trucks were in the early 90's and they were ONLY 2 wheel drive. so ... yes ( technically ) ... but to me, a REAL 3/4 ton has 8 lugs unless they are considering this a 1960 / early 1991 version ???? 🙄🙄🙄

I live in Arkansas and I know a guy that has basically built the same truck. He also built a two door short bed in the 1967 style and two Tahoes. It is a lot of work as he had to custom make all the mounting brackets and section all of the panels to fit.
I’ve been trying to find where he’s located. I know he’s close to Jonesboro. I’ve got a place near Imboden. I’m wanting to restore my 69 C10 and wanted to see if he does that kind of work.
Super cool look. But with most of these retro conversions (like the 60s corvette on a late model) it just looks a little off because of the windshield rake. Just a tiny bit too aerodynamic. Still love the idea and the amazing work that went into it!!
Nice concept, just something looks off to me, maybe front end is too short for the cab, I dunno. Sure would not pay $150k for that or any truck. For that money, I could have 2 or 3 fully restored square bodies in the driveway.

Looks awesome! I agree definitely a 1500 especially with the 6 lug. As well, the active hill assist is available on models under the z71. Inhave a 2016 LT and it has active hill, cruise, and other features the more expensive models have. Maybe I got lucky lol!

With a few newer and older C-10s K-10s a K-5's or two and C-20's,mixed in over the years, I can tell you all about your Chevy truck just by how many lug nuts it has.

The new trucks have a lot of things that the old vehicles didn't have which is nice but also which makes them less reliable, and impossible to work on.
That is just about the best looking truck I've ever seen. GM should totally build this truck as an anniversary edition. It could actually be affordable. The Camaro was popular enough. What is their problem with making a retro truck that's not like that silly SSR? A real, USEABLE truck that looks like this would be fantastic.

I'm not a big chrome guy only looking to solve grille, headlights, and bumper. If I have to keep the chrome thinking of Cheyenne Big 10 look but not to this extent..lol.
Being a Mopar guy, this amazes me. If GM did this, they could not build them fast enough and would fly off the lots. Same as if Ford had did the Bronco this way as a 68/69 spin-off.

I say make it short bed single cab with a step side. Mod the frame by shortening it to make it possible, since GM can't seem to make a short wheelbase anymore.

That proubly is what they call light duty 3/4 truck which is really a 1/2 ton with heavy springs 6 bolt is half ton truck bolt pattern

How is it registered? Body or chassis?
Registered as 2018 Silverado. It is basically only a body mod to a newer truck. Vin is on the dash and frame, so it would be chassis and body.

For sure is a 1/2 ton truck. The 6 lug nut pattern is on the half ton. The bigger axel in the 3/4 ton are 8 lug nut wheel pattern.
