Of all the golf channels on TH-cam this guy has the most helpful content on here. By simply keeping the right arm bent at impact, you get to rotate through the ball, cover the ball with your chest, and have lateral side bend. Normally this takes 3 videos, but he’s managed to give a simple tip that covers ALL THREE of those vitally important things. This dude is my new TH-cam golf coach
Really mark M?? How do you even make a comment like that? Gtfoh with that s*** Take your a** to the Grand Canyon or Swiss alps if you want better scenery. Some people I tell ya. Unbelievable. This guy is on here giving absolute valuable info and teaching quality golf techniques and you want make a comment about setting..😂😂😂😂
@bigglesthwaite like really? Maybe this is all he has,his knowledge. Maybe Dad didn't leave a Trust fund and lifetime Club membership at a prestigious resort. Be thankful for what we have.JS
LUV a reverse engineered golf move... fantastic stuff, I have always seen the right side bend , bent right arm impact still and never understood how that happens from a full swing... reverse it... make it happen .. give yourself a task... BINGO ... top stuff , so many components addressed in this task. Genius ( as long as it’s your work 😁)
Really been repping this impact position and move thru the ball at home due to weather. Finally had a chance to hit the range and wow! What a difference in impact and results. Still have to continue working on that move becoming more second nature as I have been a years long 7over the top/casting guy. Looking forward to better golf
This One hits me different. That right arm bend is "Magical". Been hit'em best of my life but still pushing some and fat mat shots (prb why my right arm is more sore). Your video recalled a tip I remember from the late Ernie Barbour my instructor in my teens. It went something like the club will feel weightless at the top. I went to the mirror and seen all the good angles you've shown us that we should have and it all lines up because of that right elbow bend. I can feel the club being weightless as I start my transition. As we all end our round of golf I really want to shoot a round of Par for my Dad. It's a game we've really bonded on. I really appreciate this tip and I've already clicked like 20 ad rev's for you. Thank you, Sir.
Tried it and absolutely love it. Hitting my long irons straight finally. Assuming this works for driver too or no? Haven't had the time to play around w it much but success w my irons feels good
This is the exact journey that I am on. Such a good video. It would be good to to see some side on videos of this so I can better understand the release pattern or explain what happens to the wrists past impact. I seem to suffer from holding onto the angles too long past impact but not sure if what I am doing is right or wrong. Really good video and this “reverse engineering” of creating turn in the downswing defo works for me. Just the thought of turning more does not and introduces all sorts of other problems. ⛳️
If it's after impact, why do you need to worry? The ball is already long gone👋 lol but I'll (semi) bite...what does the ball do when you hold on as described?
thank you I learn from you every time, I am 70 and have struggled all my life, in my day golf instructors NEVER hit balls in front of their students...today that won't cut it
Tell that to Dave Leadbetter, Butch Harmon, Pete Cowan.and Hank Haney. Not having the ability hit a golf ball like a pro doesn’t take away from a persons ability to teach extremely well. Being able to demonstrate what’s needed for a student (at any level of skill) is what’s important. I guess if you were right those teachers I mentioned wouldn’t be teaching some of the best players in the world. If you ever go to a clinic with a PGA tour pro, very rarely do they articulate the correct information to help someone hit a golf ball. They are just really good at the game but not so much at teaching.
Thanks. I started to do the drill. Start with a impact position and I hit the ball quite well. I wonder why can't I setup like the drill and hit the ball like that on a golf course. A little bit "a la" Matthew wolf. What do you think? Because when addressing the ball with the impact position it feels like my hips is doing the rotation easier instead of doing the sway movement of the hips.
Hey thank you for sharing your experience on the youtube. I wish I can understand what you are saying here fully. But anyway, I think I can try your 2 drills. From s.korea.
I have myself worked with this with succes. But if you have a little difficulty , you can try turning your inner right elbow a fraktion upwards at address. It can also create more lag, win win 🙂
It's interesting because when I hit the ball on film with the right arm I get that bent arm awesome impact position. I cannot however recreate that feel with two arms? What am I missing?
Hey 👋 Jonathan from the States (Louisiana)! I’m looking for what you think 🤔 is the Best drill for getting off your trail side and not getting stuck there and stalling out at impact. Is this one ☝️the one for that or do you have a better drill besides? Big fan of You and your Instruction techniques!
It does seem counter intuitive, but past year I said to myself on a good striking day, my lead arm feels more bent, 🎯, Do you think if my divot was toe heavy, it could be fr straightening my lead arm and raising up? ✍️ Hopefully this might help others. Thx.
Could be a number of things. Lack of lead arm/hand depth at the top of your backswing and poor downswing sequencing could be the culprits. All depends on your swing
I’ve kind of always known about this but when I try keeping the right arm slightly bent I have trouble getting down to the ball and thin it a lot. How can I avoid this?
The mad thing is on the first drill, you take your club back from the pre set position and then as you come back through the ball on the swing, it’s not the same as the pre set position 😆 This isn’t a criticism by the way, I’ve drilled the life out of this position for two years now and still can’t do it ha ha
I can't get this late hitting with bent arms. My swing involves uncocking the wrists at the start of the downswing (yes, blasphemy I know) and I have never hit so cleanly straight in my life. Yes, I don't hit drives 300 yards but I will take 200 yards consistently hitting where I want it over distance any day.
I like this type of swing but it’s not for me… I’m more of a swing like Tiger etc who straighten their trail arm and release the club. I can swing this way (rotational) with the bent arm and holding the release but I messed my back up a few times trying to make this swing change in the past (it’s really a totally different type of swing).
It's the basic foundation of a golf swing. Nothing about age. You can still probably play decent golf with a straight right arm but you will never take your game to the next level without the lesson in this video.
I’m almost 72 and I can tell you it’s for everyone. When I do this properly the ball goes to the target. The exhilaration is because you know where it’s going. Watch every TV pro - all look like that. Great lesson.

A nicer setting would help…
This dude is super sharp
@@bigglesthwaite i dont mind it much at all. its easy to focus on the technicals instead of looking at the scenery

Lifetime of extending, casting, and flipping blown away by this idea.
Great video!! In the almost 50 yrs playing, I don't believe any instructor or video has touched on this. Can't wait to work on this.
Yes Steve, I am 70 and I have never seen this drill before. Brilliant.

It work’s unbelievably and the speed is after the right hand straightens out great video well done ..
Another great video. I've been getting a bit lazy, pulling plenty of shots. Too handsy... this should get me back into shape. Thanks!

You are one of the best on youtube! Good drills and no bs. Great tip video after video!
Phenomenal teaching. Great technique. Been working on this and seeing great results. Thank you
This is huge, how come I never heard anyone else talk about this. Thanks man.
And another one! JC, you have more hits than DJ Khaled! Appreciate you my Guy!
Haha thanks man
Great tip, can't wait to work on that. I tend to flip on mis-hits...I think this is a good thing to drill.
Yet another set of spot on drills to actually help you! Fantastic! Thanks!
I’ve been working on this exact position with my coach but this gives some context to my trail arm so i know what it needs to do 🙌
Great video. Watched alot of this guys videos. Definitely knows what he is talking about and come out with some good drills. Keep up the good work
JChown golf never fails ... thanks!
Thanks bud!
Awesome simple but highly effective swing thought. Thanks a bunch.
Watched three videos.
They have been excellent
Great swing sir👍👍👍I’ll try this out -- well done 👍
Really good stuff I can take to the range instantly. Thank you.
I needed this so much. Thank you, sir!
Glad you liked it!
Banger video, have a big issue hitting fat and I know it’s bc of my right arm. Thank you!!
Same. My weight transfer and lower body work well, but my right arm is a bastard that wants me to fail
What a great tip and drills. Thanks a lot, dear friend
Thank's for this one. Eye opener/game changer!
Very good video. Thank you. Give a tip on how much lag we need for longer distance and when the wrists should unfold. Thank you

Dead on good stuff man. Really true about the shank comment at the end. I would know😂🏌️👍
Thank you for this. I really needed this
Great instruction! Thank you!
Great tip!
Thanks David
This is simply brilliant. Thx very much.
I can use this, thx
Brilliant post
You’re speaking to me brother!
I early extend and run out of Rt arm way too early.
Great drill, I'm gonna try it at the range today, I'm playing tomorrow
Literally the MOST important thing in the whole golf swing.
Well done 👏
Thanks Roy!
Does this apply for woods & drivers? Or is something that works exclusively on irons? Love the videos!
Excellent.👍
Thanks Steven!

Form the second trianglle through impact, simple!
Ouch.. if your watching you tube probably not the best golfer in the world😂. Love the instruction!!! Thanks
Who knows, maybe some of them watch hahaha
Really Thanks😃😃😃
Incredible! Thank You
Glad you liked it 🤙🏻
Great stuff. It's hard to get rid of 20 years of straightening the right arm. But I'm sure it's possible

Do you think if my divot was toe heavy, it could be fr straightening my lead arm and raising up? ✍️
Hopefully this might help others. Thx.
The divot pattern will likely be a separate issue
Best players in the world aren’t watching You tube videos, I almost shit myself laughing 😂
When does the right straighten ?
With this bent arm, can you show how you would work the ball right to left and left to right?
True ❤
have you completed your pga??
When I get more open my path goes more left and hit slices. Any drills for better path while still rotating well?
Could be a number of things. Lack of lead arm/hand depth at the top of your backswing and poor downswing sequencing could be the culprits. All depends on your swing
Yeah, don't listen to this guy.
Hmmm, maybe I'm straightening my trail arm and that's why I've all of a sudden started getting the shanks.
Shanks can certainly be caused by straightening the trail arm
Great video but I notice you never mention weight transfer. Is weight shift not as important if you get this elbow and bent position correct?
He says weight is 90% on the left side at about impact. Just watch again😊
is this for all clubs? driver, fw too?
Yep driver too
At impact do you want your right elbow beside your right hip or in front of it?
In front ideally
@@jchowngolf Thanks.
Hi Jonathan where did you get your net from ????
Net world sports 👍🏼
@@jchowngolf cheers mate really appreciate that
@@jchowngolf hi mate are you not on skillest app anymore ??? If so I cannot find you what is your name on there ?????
Thanks Jonathan. Presume tip works for driver too? ⛳️
i think it is good theory. thanks. but one issue to me is that your right heel is stick to ground. many teach right heel up vertical.
Check out my videos on why you should avoid lifting the right heel. Banking your right foot is the goal
Does this apply to the driver
Sure does
Does it work with woods from the fairway? With a driver from the tee as well?
Everything 👍🏼
How many times have you hit a ball through the gap on the right side of the net....and not shown it on video?
There’s a back netting haha
I’ve kind of always known about this but when I try keeping the right arm slightly bent I have trouble getting down to the ball and thin it a lot. How can I avoid this?
Get your right shoulder down more and left hip up
Why please when I keep my right arm bent and get right side bend my club face stays open resulting in the ball going to the right
So maybe this is the reason for my early extension 🤔, or its my bit over the top downswing.
Always gotta find the root cause
The mad thing is on the first drill, you take your club back from the pre set position and then as you come back through the ball on the swing, it’s not the same as the pre set position 😆
This isn’t a criticism by the way, I’ve drilled the life out of this position for two years now and still can’t do it ha ha

@2:40 fuck yeah, i'm one of them :)
👍👍👍
The failed version of the right arm only swing made me lol. Looked like one of my efforts.
Straight left haha
Thank you 1.000.000 times
So, how many times have you slapped a ball through that gap on the right of the net and out onto the street 😂?
Back netting
Would be great to see you on course please. Mats too forgiving.
I’m a top player I just haven’t figured it out yet
TH-cam reading my mind scares the shit out of me.
It's the algorithms - but yeah scary!
Why are your hands so low in the backswing?
The last 20 seconds was me in nutshell. Suddenly shanking and hitting everything fat. Nightmare

Why is your chest and shoulders open at impact? The pro player you have shown all have their shoulders square at impact.
😁👍
Thanks bud!
I would so hit a ball through the gap to the right of the net😂😂
There’s a back netting behind it
Omg
