I don't know why the precondition is that the herbivore mouth is worse, especially since the carnivore one means you have to kill in order to eat. As a worm, being carnivorous would be 5x harder.
@Pud Pete I understand what you're saying, but that only applies to cell stage, the shortest and easiest stage. All the cell-stage mouths have the same abilities in the creature stage. Sing lv 1 and Bite lv 1. The only differences are how it looks and what you can eat, and being a carnivore is easily the hardest diet. Especially when you're a helpless worm.
I’ve been going through a re-ignited Spore phase since new years and it makes me so happy that people are still making content around this game. Great video!
Can you imagine you peacefully eating a smaller animal on land, when a giant spaceship awfully similar to that one nerd you bullied in cell stage starts shooting lazers at you while laughing menacingly
When evolution won't transform your body, so you go on a journey of personal transformation instead. Truly inspiring stuff. Loved doing Torsolo, though Torsquad was one that was a natural sequel and lasted for about 10 videos of epic poetry, and it didn't really get much traction in the end, so that's largely why I've moved over to one-shot segments. While I'd love to do more stuff like that, you definitely hit the nail on the head in that it can hurt to keep making a series that not many people want to watch for a full month of committed videos. Still love doing that type of storytelling, though! You might see a few cameos or similar things in the future, but they'll most likely be presented as separate segments if that makes sense. On the other hand, too, it's a nice way to do stuff because it's let me expand the catalog of games I do :) Hope you enjoy!
@@ambiguousamphibian I appreciate the response, thank you
Okay well Spore was my childhood and all but I'm simply impressed by how existentially and psychologically amazing this video is, given its based around a blind phallic vegetarian species of worms that have no moral compass and bring nothing but mayhem everywhere they go disguised as presents gently carried in their non-existent arms.
I will absolutely be subscribing...
I wish for egg
I was thinking here, and I'm curious how much of the game can you play as a strict cannibal. Cell stage could be possible since if one of your own species gets game ended you can feast on their innards(I dont know if this works in the creature stage, and im sure the tribal stage is definitely impossible, but im super curious)
Actually, if you save, quit, and boot up again, it's possible to have your own creature species as a wild creature, though it's rare
I like when spore said "it's sporing time" truly poetic
I had fun playing that game back then, but deep down I believe a game like this could do better. I hope that one day someone will take up the challenge to make a SPORE-like game but more advanced and with more options.
there is a small developer trying, but i just dont know if it will ever come to fruition. look up thrive
I feel so bad because as a Sims obsessed kid, my parents bought my sister and I Spore, and we both gave up on it and thought it sucked - honestly it was just too hard for our foolish wee child brains. But I remember how excited we were for a new Will Wright game and then how much we bashed it when we couldn't figure out how to play it 😭 seeing it now I'm astounded at how cool it is
"Our species consists of a torso and a mouth"
Where have I heard this before?
I just watched through all thirteen minutes of this video and I still have no idea what the heck I just watched but I loved it haha
I find it just amazing that this is actually really good gameplay on basically all games but because of the genius commentating it feels like he is just joking arround. Love this content. keep it up
5:57 I so expected to hear "We light some fireworks... that we can't see because we have no eyes"
I don't know why the precondition is that the herbivore mouth is worse, especially since the carnivore one means you have to kill in order to eat.
As a worm, being carnivorous would be 5x harder.
I guess because the carnivour mouth can in the cell be used as a offensive and defensive tool whilst the herbivore mouth is just a mouth
Have you heard of snakes?
@@WalterTheWalrus Yes I have. It's a shame reality doesn't translate into Spore.
I’ve been going through a re-ignited Spore phase since new years and it makes me so happy that people are still making content around this game. Great video!
i suck eggs
aw man, i love this game so much, i always dreamed of an spore 2 :(
This game is the greatest fever dream ever
I love KinglyValence's spore videos, glad that you gave him a shoutout. He deserves it!
4:09 made me laugh way too much!
All hail the green reptile, for he blessed us again with a video one will take upon his soul with joy and gratitude.
bro i haven’t heard someone talk bout starbelly sneechs in forever
You should get the DLC where you can go into missions as a Captain on the ground so Worm Man can walk the Earth once more
It's an expansion pack, thank you very much.
@@Bacony_Cakes expansion packs are DLC
Can you imagine you peacefully eating a smaller animal on land, when a giant spaceship awfully similar to that one nerd you bullied in cell stage starts shooting lazers at you while laughing menacingly
I wish for nothing more than an endless supply of eggs, can you provide me with eggs
When evolution won't transform your body, so you go on a journey of personal transformation instead. Truly inspiring stuff. Or, well, it would be, if it were not for the fact that these creatures have no eyes to see this inspiring journey with, so they will remain forever oblivious of their peers' triumphs.
I had completely forgotten about Spore! I remember being in my mid teens going over to my friends house and playing hours and hours of it on his PC. So much fun
Can I just say that you're scripts are wonderfully put together
*Your.
You're = You are.
I once did something like this challenge for myself back then. I played with a mod that amplified the terrain(giant mountains, deep/nonexistant oceans) as a two-vertebrae worm with nothing but a spike. The smallest possible size. It was an adventure
They didn't make it past the tribal stage before going extinct
"...and used the ship explosion ghost save exploit..."
Ah yes. Just as the Buddha intended.
This species’ evolution is like the kid who got bullied during elementary school who came to destroy his bullies in High school.
You should've known from every Spore speedrun: you need level 3 interstellar engine to reach the centre of the galaxy, level 2 won't do.
Ah, it is so good to see people still playing this little gem of a videogame! :-D
Fun fact: in the scientific community, species like these are called "Darwinian dolts". The opposite is a "Darwinian devil".
I fell asleep to this and woke up convinced it was a fever dream.
Honestly this seems like an origin story of the Combine Advisors from Half Life 2. Weak, completely inept creatures who somehow survived and gained enough brainpower to build technologies that allowed them to enslave other, seemingly superior species, in countless realms and universes.
Also made me think of the Goa'uld of Stargate or the Yeerks in Animorphs!
"wOWZers, chapter 5, tHE space sTAge!" -ambiguousamphibian 8:28
man. listening to you talk about war and extremely unhinged politics in your kermit voice has been the funniest thing i’ve experienced in ages. subscribed!
I love that Spore is getting his popularity back :)
The buildings/vehicles had me dying.
Charles Darwin is probably rolling in his grave.
i really love how this game is 14 years old and it is still fun and relevant
"you are wrong is a bad stage"
Also him: *start the stage as 100% Herbivore or 100% Carnivore*
I'm pretty sure someone else did this before and got most of the multiverse destroyed.
Oh wait, that would be Narotiza!
Man this game was such a good idea. Remember being little and downloading and obsessively replaying the trial version because we couldn’t afford it at the time. Would be awesome to see a fixed, modernized version.
The worm’s “thrusting” tribal dance mob very nearly got coffee out my nose
It would be amazing if this game just got remastered keep the graphics the same just add more to the campaign and customization and that would be epic
6:53 i immediately checked the upload date
