Dan, I got back in town and installed the latch this morning. Took 20 minutes tops. Like you I have had the door panel off before so I knew the process. I had a little trouble getting the handle and gasket in at one time. That's the part where you removed the spring to get it in the hole. I removed the gasket and the handle went right in, I then slipped the gasket back over the handle and tightened the bolt and bracket. Mine was not broken, just looked bad after 17 years of use. My rig is a 2005 Dutch Star. It looks so much better now. Thanks for the video and part number!
Glad to hear that had success. I didn't even think of removing the gasket, it would have been easier. Hopefully I won't have to replace the latch again.

Thanks for posting. We have a 2003 Newmar Dutch Star D.P. I replaced that device at the top of the door that holds it open so the wind won't slam it shut, last year. Now I need to find out how to disassemble the basement doors so I fix some delamination between the outer skin and the foam core. Apparently(according to Newmar), everything is glued with Stika adhesive. Safe travels

Hi Marcus, no I haven't needed to work on my screen door latch yet. You should be able to buy a replacement from PTL, who builds most of the doors. Mine is attached with two screws. Thanks for subscribing.
The linkage arm where you said it would just fall out when removing latch does it not have a keeper or clip to hold it on at the bottom?

@@youcantoorv9860 yes i dont think mine has that clip either. Maybe the bracket holds it in place. Ebay delivered me the new door handle next step is to dig into the door and install it. Thankyou for the detailed video very helpful!
did it come with a new lock and key?
It came with two new keys for the new lock. I threw out the old keys and had extra copies made also.

Mine is an 04DSDP. I would expect that the locks are the same. Let me know how it turns out.
@@youcantoorv9860 Just ordered it so it will be home when I get back in town. Currently enjoying the beautiful weather at Emerald Isle NC. I have been inside the door before so it should be simple. I was going to replace the handle but I think TriMark sent me the wrong handle so I sent it back. Mine worked okay but looked bad due to the finish wearing off. Thanks again for the video.
