    13:00 originally Atlas was supposed to say "It's alright, would you kindly inject yourself?" but the devs thought it would give away the twist too early for smart players, so now Jack just injects himself without being told to.
    I guess the devs asked US "would you kindly inject yourself to progress in the game?" so Jack did it.

    Spoiler-free tips: a LOT of the story is told through those audio recordings, so finding them is important. Also, I found bullets to be in pretty short supply and hacking was important.
    First Mass Effect, now this game... fabulous, so lucky!
    (Ps. Kevin, lol)

  • @Kayjee17
    @Kayjee17 3 ปีที่แล้ว +31

    Pro tip: If it's a Leadhead Splicer (lead as in lead bullets), ALWAYS look for a pistol to get free bullets!
    LOOK UP as well as around! There are supplies tucked in upper areas too!
    SLOW DOWN! There are a lot of crates and other supplies around that you are missing because you're moving so fast.
    Listen to the tapes! You will get a better understanding of Rapture through the stories told by it's people. For instance, Diane McClintock's story can be found all over Rapture. Some of the stories are heartbreaking, like the story of the little girl Masha and her parents.
    Have fun! Bioshock is a fantastic, plot-driven game where everything meshes together to make it one of the best games ever.

    You picked up on more than any gamer I've ever seen play this. The chain on the wrists, the audiofiles references Atlas as a rebel leader, the fact that consumables are only good for certain things, and the fastest “would you kindly” pick up I’ve ever seen. Most people miss that. And you did it all with such ease, most gamers can't sit still and keep looking passed everything. You also make really good inferences based on the current information.

    I have two useful tips that I only bring up because they were immensely helpful when I learned them myself:
    The machine gun give *no* bonus damage for headshots, so there's no need to go for them. On the other hand, the pistol has a 4x headshot modifier, and the shotgun has 2x.
    Also, the shotgun has deceptively high spread so you have to be closer than you think to get good damage.

    It's nice that as a small youtuber, you're playing these games.
    This is what I've thought of doing for a really long time, as I am a very theatrical person and I went 110% invested into Bioshock.
    I am fully confident I found every single code, power to the people, looted nearly every single space in Rapture, studied every single enemy weaknesses, found every single tonic, Easter egg and hacked every single circus of values and bandito. I have explored every corner of all the levels through BioShock 1 and BioShock 2.
    I've gotten to a nerd level where it's just I believe there's nothing else more for me to learn, but I do. I really love this game, I really appreciated the amount of imagination and investment that was put into it. While I don't consider myself to be a story gamer or 100% completer because of it being tedious, I really fucking did everything.
    I hope you keep sharing things like this, while I might not really watch you at all, - I really don't watch anyone
    I hope more players enjoy this game the way I did, it's really a great experience.
    I want to start creating content like you!
    I want to nerd the fuck out of everything and improve this great industry of videogames and push it to the pinnacle of art, entertainment and fun. God if only rockstar worked with Bioshock devs to create it.

    I thoroughly enjoyed watching your first playthrough of Bioshock. My boyfriend introduced me to this game at the beginning of this year and it's such an amazing game. It was my first ever FPS game and my first horror game. Up until then I'd just played Rayman, Rollercoaster Tycoon as a kid so I was genuinely terrified in the Medical Pavilion and did not pick up on ANY of the things you did. I was just shooting badly and freaking out haha. The creepy shadow cutting someone and breathing heavily at 1:03:40, all of the jump scares, Steinman slicing and dicing a splicer who is still alive, the shotgun sequence... Faaaaark.
    As others have said, you're so perceptive! It's been so fun watching someone new to the game play it and to I've really loved hearing your thoughts on Rapture. After finishing each level I ended up watching patologTV's cinematic no commentary (and no damage) walkthrough - I highly recommend you check out. There was so much that I picked up from their playthroughs that I probably would have missed. Every time I play this game or watch someone else play it, I uncover something new - for example at 50:57 did that splicer self heal itself? And if so... HOW! Is that a bug or a genuine thing some splicers can do without healing stations? OMFGGG.
    Going to watch your next video now. Looking forward to seeing your perspective on this game. You're awesome!

    • @Cynthetic
      @Cynthetic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Okay, but Rollercoaster Tycoon was elite! Even if I could never make a safe coaster😅
      Thank you so much for the comment and I will check out those no damage playthroughs sometime. I would love to know how someone pulled that off.

    • @kristydevries9957
      @kristydevries9957 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Cynthetic Haha I had a genuine fear of rollercoasters for a while because of that game, "32 people have died on your rollercoaster"..
      Patolog makes use of the Target Dummy but they clearly put in a lot of time to make these playthroughs so cinematic and seamless. There's a few close calls.
      Also I think I saw on another comment of yours that you've finished the game now - but I recall you asking what one of the tiles was in the hacking game (it's the alarm tile) which sends a Security Bot or two to attack you, which you can then attack and hack if you want another Kevin.

  • @garyballard179
    @garyballard179 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Freezing turrets/cameras/bots works even better than zapping them. Not only does it disable them for a time while you hack them, freezing them also slows the ooze, giving you more time to hack.
    Tried Enrage once, never used it again. It just makes them more violent, and takes up a slot that can hold a more useful plasmid.

    • @robertmurdock1848
      @robertmurdock1848 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah , there are only a few instances in the game where Enrage is really useful , too many other plasmids are far more useful.

    • @BooBaddyBig
      @BooBaddyBig 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@robertmurdock1848 Actually enrage is by far one of the most powerful plasmids but people don't understand it. In group situations you throw it around a few times and they all start killing each other, saving you ammo and effort. If anyone still attacks you when enraged, just move around a bit until they can see each other, and they'll leave run off you alone. Then you just have to kill the remaining splicer, who is usually badly wounded.

      Sorry , in a normal game where I'm using every weapon at my disposal, I get more usefulness from other plasmids.
      Now, when I limit myself to the number of weapons I pick up and use , and use others to do the heavy lifting, then it moves into the rotation of available plasmids.

    Hello there! A while back, I saw the cover art for bioshock infinite, it interested me in the game and I started looking for a playthrough to watch, as I own a mac and didn't think I would be able to play the game, since most only play on windows. I went through a few people's partially, but all of them were either far too slow paced, or way too fast paced for me. Then I found you by a whirlwind on my home page, so I gave it a chance! You got me into bioshock by your infinite playthrough, and I was there waiting for you to play burial at sea! I love how you play the game, actually noticing things that so many people ignore, even figuring out the twist of infinite was awesome to see. Then I found out bioshock could be played on mac, so after my playthrough I'm here to watch you do much better than me with my first pc shooter. I remember when I first played this game in 2013, which was already many years after it first released, and it was my favorite game I played that year (considering it was a strong year for gaming with GTA V, Bioshock Infinite, and The Last of Us).
    EDIT: also so jealous seeing someone play the game blind. To experience that again.

    so a little background on Steinman seeing as you got to him. prior to coming to Rapture he was a highly notable surgeon in New York i think, like most people who came to Rapture he was promising in a certain field. He always showed himself as loyal to Andrew Ryan so he went fairly high in the Medical Pavilion (and eventually was placed in charge of it). However the introduction of Adam into Rapture presented new problems for his profession...he began to question if his talents really had nay merit when Adam could do so much more. He began to over indulge in Plasmids and test them to try and understand and appreciate them and he began to hallucinate and he started seeing this so called Goddess called Aphrodite. After that he began to do awful things to patients.

    It's funny. Watching you for the first time here, i was like, "she is really intelligent" but also experienced, and both show. Then you were all like "i'm not smart" which made me chuckle. Though when you were figuring out the dental key, i was yelling at the screen to use telekinesis heh. I rarely get that engaged or feel motivated to watch something all the way through these days, so yay for your Let's Play.
    I also really enjoy how you check out everything. Nothing in LP's irks me more than when people just run past something to get and don't even care.

More speciffically subject delta (which is Jhonny, the guy that gets attacked by the female splicer that attacks the bathysphere Jack is in at the beggining of Bioshock 1). And is the main character in Bioshock 2. The main character in Bioshock 1 is a brainwashed dude called Jack.

    Another thing. The green thing isn´t blood. Splicers are normal humans that became psycophatic due to their addiction to Adam (hence why they are called splicers, from all the genetic splicing/manipulation they did to themselves). And the crowbar that Frank Fontaine mentions is a reference to the starter weapon in Half Life).

    that screaming at 3:50 is very weird, never heard it before, even after watching tons of lets plays! sounds like 100th of splicers yelling around 😵 i definitly hear one of the female splicer voices in it! maybe its bcs of the remaster audio bug that places enemy voices at wrong places and volume, still strange bcs there are no splicers in that area. and i never ever noticed that u can hear that "long live atlas" phrase in the mcclintock tape!!! im also impressed that you associated jack's tattoo with the great chain so quickly👍
