    I own the U8k 55". It's extremely bright, crystal clear and bright colors. Best TV I ever owned. Once you get the settings dialed in, it is an extremely enjoyable TV for everything. Viewing angle though is not that great, but can be improved with right settings.

    I wish the USA version had the center stand!! They are so much simpler & take up less space on the TV stand.

      I agree with you on that! Center stands take up less space on the TV stand and often make the TV look more elegant. I wish more TV manufacturers offered center stands, especially for larger TVs.
      I hope that Hisense will eventually offer a center-stand option for the U8K TV in the USA. In the meantime, you can always try to find a third-party center stand that is compatible with the TV.

    Hi Paul, great and honest review! At minute 3:55 you mention a video about the best settings. Unfortunately I can't find it. Can you please give me a hint?

    I just got one of these at 65 inches for $950 USD ($1300 Canadian pre tax)
    Seems like a good deal especially for Canadian prices.
    Also Its so weird how different regions get different product under the same name.

    Good review, but why didn't sound get a mention? It's definitely a cut above the normal sound you find on soundbarless TVs.

    I dont know about everyone else, but i find this guy's, well AVForums reviews in general if he is the only one sitting in front camera, very hard to understand and take anything away from it. Like yes - he is speaking and giving info, but everything is so mushed and convoluted. He just flies by through the whole text like a flash and its very difficult. I dont know, maybe the way the script written is bad or maybe he just have to speak so quick, because the tea time is upon him... Its a shame, because i would like to buy a tv and since i live in UK your channel would provide great insight.

    Thanks for the review, I've read/watched so much on this tv but have got confused along the way. Does the 75"version in the UK have an inferior screen or something?

  • @richardanderson9926
    @richardanderson9926 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    How will picture quality differ on the 75 inch model? Am I right that the 75 inch uses an IPS-ADS Pro panel? I believe this is for better viewing angles but would it impact things like black levels?

    • @birdtj82
      @birdtj82 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      D black level lookss fine, i checked out in store with 75”. Just needs to get tweaked (3-5 seconds) to turn it down. Unlike all the FAke reviews”out of box” LEAVE 100% backlight on, then black level at 50% not tweaked(down). They call it “pre set” there no SET in that .

    Rtings gave Hisense u8k the highest praise even compared to tcl qm8, Sony x93l and Sony x90l. I’m trying to decide between qm8 , u8k and more importantly x90l in 75 inch. What would you recommend? I do a lot of streaming (Hulu, YT TV, Sling, Netflix) but I watch a lot of 4K discs on my Panasonic ub820 as well. Thank you!

    Thank you for your great profesional reviews! I just subscribed to your channel.
    I"m torn between the Hisense 55" mini led uk8 and the LG Evo 55" oled G-series, but, as much as I want to, I can't justify paying an extra £800 for the LG.
    I would love to hear your comments on both these screens for prospective buyers like myself.
    Can the Hisense refresh rate be lowered so as not to tax the gpu on a pc when used for gaming?
    Thank you

      You should now be able to enjoy 144Hz at 4K on your Hisense U8K TV. If you are not seeing the 144Hz option, you may need to update your NVIDIA graphics card drivers.

    I don't know where they're getting these prices, or maybe it's an EU market thing. But here in the states that TCL tv is WAY more expensive and not available really. Most places are comparing the Hisense u8k to the TCL QM8. So really, this isn't a useful video for people in the states at all.

      @@spwhatmeworry The DSE panel is clearly visible against a bright white background, and it's somehow the easiest to see when watching ice hockey. That DSE effect bothers me much more than some kind of small blooming and I don't believe that you can easily solve that DSE with local dimming, what will it do when watching ice hockey or skiing, which is mostly all panel in white color.I currently have to buy a TV for the dining room-living room and I will probably choose the TCL 50C805 because it is sold at a very good price. I've already studied a bit, if it wasn't too big I would take the whole 55" but the viewing distance is 7 feet. I'd really prefer to add those very few Euros for 55" but I don't know but it won't be too big since from the beginning of the search I wanted to buy a 43" However, a TV in this size is not good at all, but it is too expensive.
