I was born in 2008, but I have serious nostalgia for Emerald (I got gifted it as around 2016 I think? I cant quite remember.) and let me tell you. *I get it.*
Hearing this takes me back to the first time I ever played Pokémon Red. I remember getting the GBC Pikachu Edition. I don't think I've ever sank more hours into a game than Pokémon Red and feeling like a king when I beat the Elite Four. I'm a dad now and since this will be part of my playlist, my son will likely one day ask me 'what song is this?' and once again I will be taken back to a time where I was his age and he could very well go through the experience of discovering the world of Pokémon for the very first time and if he does, I hope he finds it as magical as I first did and as magical as this song is. Certainly hits you in the feels!
As Ash returns home after a long journey, his mother eagerly waits for a much needed hug. He then hears a familiar voice, turns around to see that Gary has taken his grandfather’s place as lab professor. They notice and approach each other slowly. Former adversaries now greet each other as old friends. Fast forward 9 years they nervously but excitedly talk about sending their own young Pokemon masters to be on their own journeys.
