    I tried this today and didn't turn out too well so just my 2c's.... I didn't have the Star Anise nor the cooking wine (all out) also there was far too much soy sauce 1/2 cup is too much, it made the dish way too salty. I'm also guessing the wine may have cut that a bit, but not much, needed more sugar. I used far too much oil when frying, it really ONLY needed a DAB of oil or in fact none at all, because the fat was rendering down. I should have fried the pork just to glaze it and then removed it and dried the pan. Then added the rest of the stuff. I also wasn't sure 1> what heat to have the stove on 2> whether to cover or not, I think 1 hour is too much, 45 minutes is probably right, depending if it is covered as in a slow simmer. My meat was to tough. I managed to rescue it. I'm sure a lot of the issues were my own doing, but def 2 points is TOO much soy and no oil needed.. just my feedback, good video !

      @AdrianJayeOnline 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      re watching, it needed to be on a simmer , covered, you simmered, but didn't mention and an hour is too long, as it was already boiled... ts again

    Searched Pork Belly with Soy Sauce, got this recipe on youtube - I'm thinking while watching it - where the heck is he going with this boiling it... and boiling it AGAIN - for an HOUR... and then low and behold food magic happened and there were glorious chunks of pork belly in a glaze... I will have to try this! I've cooked pork belly several different ways, but never ever seen this boiling version. Thanks!

    Came out great! A little salty but a side of steamed broccoli and rice balanced it out. I also used rice vinegar instead of cooking wine (didn’t have any).

    I know nothing about cooking whatsoever as I usually just buy takeaway food, so I gotta question, when you put those pork belly strips in the boiling water for about 10 minutes or a little over 10 minutes, is this to basically fully cook it, so that the rest of the cooking just finishes it off ?
