This made a 32 year old man cry. I remember playing on the N64 as a kid and being amazed and filled with wonder when I played Banjo-Kazooie and would open each new world. Then came Banjo-Tooie and all of that joy came rushing back. I played both of those games a hundred+ times and never losing those feelings. Rare truly knew their audience and loved making them happy. Then came the dreaded buy out. I was eighteen when Nuts and Bolts came out and seeing the trailer made me cry as well. I was beyond happy that ANOTHER Banjo-Kazooie game was coming out almost a decade later of waiting and hoping. Seeing the trailer was amazing and I was hopeful. When it finally released and I tried playing it, it seemed like the previous games aside from a different aesthetic style which I was ok with. When L.O.G appeared and said that no one wants to collect items and play platform games anymore, I was filled with fucking dread. I still played through until it turned into an amogolet of barely any platforming and mostly building and racing cars! What. The. Actual. Fuck. That destroyed my childhood wonder of the Banjo-Kazooie series and any hope there would be anymore platforming Banjo-Kazooie games again. I tried and tried to play it but it was just such a mess and nothing even remotely like it's predecessors. That's when I learned that the Rare, now owned by Microsoft, wasn't even the Rare team I knew before. I learned that they actually moved on to create their own company and were making a new platformer and item collecting game called Yooka-Laylee and all that childhood joy came rushing back. When it released, I snatched that up like a fat kid and coconut shrimp at Golden Corral. I tried playing it but it just didn't have the magic that Banjo-Kazooie had. I just lost hope after that. This has renewed that once again. I know, that book of a comment was SUPER cringe but I guess I just needed to express how much I adore this series and all the amazing childhood memories. Unfortunately, this too will probably get shut down by Microsoft because, if I'm correct, this is not Rare or Microsoft creating this. Sad. It would make a lot of people happy but Microsoft is a money hungry monster and only cares about their revenue.

I have my ideas for Banjo Threeie that would make something out of Tooty's absence in Tooie and put the ideas they dumped in Cloud Cuckooland to better use. Tooty is younger and lighter than Banjo, so I'm picturing Tooty showing up some time with a Fragile Speedster style cutscene that introduces Tooty as the next playable character a la Mumbo Jumbo in Tooie. I might be leaning too much into Samurai movie tropes on this one, but... She'll reveal that, during the events of Tooie, she's been secretly training under the tutelage (with emphasis on that wording) of an elite Council Of Nine, one character from each of the 9 worlds in Banjo-Kazooie who wasn't in Banjo-Tooie. Chimpy (Mumbo's Mountain), Leaky (Treasure Trove Cove), Gloop (Clanker's Cavern), Croctus (Bubblegloop Swamp), Wozza (Freezeezy Peak), Rubee (Gobi's Valley), Motzand (Mad Monster Mansion), Snorkel (Rusty Bucket Bay), and Eyrie (Click Clock Wood). She would be a faster and more agile counterpart to Banjo's tanky, hard-hitting style. The 9 worlds in Threeie would all be foreshadowed by the aforementioned Cloud Cuckooland. Level 1. a St. Patrick's Day themed world with shamrocks, green hills, a giant pot of gold, and rainbows, as hinted at in the Pot O' Gold. Level 2. The Deities' Dumpsite, a junkyard or landfill similar to EarthWorm Jim's New Junk City, as hinted at with Guffo's Trash Can. Level 3. Jongo's Concrete Jungle, an expansion on the Terminator themes established by Mumbo's evil counterpart MingyJongo, but with all the vivid color of Mario Kart 7's and 8's Neo Bowser City. Level 4. The Avant-Garden, an avant-garde world with stylized flowers kind of like Phantom Hourglass' Artistic Cannon, wild birds, ladybugs and other insects, mice and other small animals similar to the environments in the Pikmin series, but not necessarily with the 100-strong RTS army to accomplish the tasks for you. Hinted at with Canary Mary's mouse race. Level 5. a beehive world, but a beehive with royal status, under siege by more powerful breeds of Eyeballus Jiggium plants used as surveillance cameras by the Winkybunions. Hinted at with the beehive above the mountain. Level 6. a deep cave/shaft and bank vault with the size and aesthetic of Gringott's Wizarding Bank and colored versions of flat enemies straight of the Superflat World mentioned in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Hinted at with the Central Cavern and Super Stash Deluxe mission. Level 7. The Fragrant Fromagerie, a European-style alpine mountain cheese shop whom the playable characters probably wouldn't enjoy the smell of. Possibly includes elements of fencing or perhaps even Flamenco-style swordfighting as a visual pun on "sharp cheddar". Hinted at by the Cheese Wedge. Level 8. a royal rampart with all the classical romanticized medieval structures made of different colors, flavors, and textures of jelly, faintly similar to Tropical Freeze's Jelly Jamboree. Hinted at with the Jelly Castle. Level 9. a track-and-field themed world with Mr. Fit going all out as a master of ceremonies and putting your speed, skills with the controller, etc. to the test. Hinted at with Mr. Fit's events, and the last world before the obligatory end-game quiz show.

Bit disappointed that we won't be getting a video for each world like last time, but I trust you guys enough that whatever you're working on at the moment will be great nonetheless.
While Banjo-Kazooie was always a classic and will be the best N64 game (or at least one of them), Tooie will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart. The game I played the most in my childhood, just through exploring the worlds and it's many wonders. :) I can't wait to see them remastered.
Man this makes me want to cry, I can only imagine rare just asking you permission to use these maps and actually create a remake of the game, that will probably never happen but I can only hope!

I am really impressed with all your work. As a game developer myself, I appreciate the time put into make the older games new again. I tried once to go for Goldeneye started with Surface, but only got so far and wanted to do my own thing. Also, tried with FreeSpace, but same thing got so far and stopped. I kept having the grass is greener on the other side moments. Glad you are still getting "Jiggy" with it and creating awesome content. :) Keep up the awesome work.
As a person born in 1997 Banjo Tooie was the game I played. I do appreciate the first game but the second (Tooie) will always captivate my mind heart and soul spirit lol. Long live Banjo Tooie.

Incredible I'm really looking forward to see this, it looks like an absolute blast The textures look great and the models are much more cartoony then hyper realistic, but not too cartoony that it wouldn't fit into the Banjoverse, it fits very well, reminds me of Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze a bit My personal favourites are Jiggywiggie's Temple being made of tiny puzzle pieces (I know it was like that in the game, but it stands out so much more here) and the Floom of Doom roller coaster track actually being visible in the background The skyboxes look incredible in every scenario, my favourite being Cloud Cuckoo Land I always hated this world cause it looked so ugly imo, but here with all the clouds around it Overall the atmopshere seems to be nailed to what it was intended to be The particle effects with the green smoke in Grunty Industries, the lava sparkles, the clouds everywhere, it's perfect Keep up the great work can't wait to see this finished (Would be great to include the Isle of Hags top view in high resulution as seen from Cloud Cuckoo Land, with all the other worlds visible on it)

The thing I love most is the monstrous mechanical mud muncher, otherwise known as Hag-1. Think about how savage it was to have a drill equipped tank as a final boss.
I love how it looks the lava from Hailfire peaks, it’s simply perfect! I would to spend the days playing with these graphics remembering my childhood 💙💛❤️
I rediscovered my Rare Replay with Banjo Kazooie and Tooie, and was immediately addicted to the the first one. I never got to play Tooie, but I can now, and I'm hoping it's as amazing as Kazooe. :)
This is the first Banjo Game I played! So Nostalgic!😁 It was only after completing this game did I find out there was a game before it. Can't wait to play this again.😄

This is magnificent. On a side note, I always wondered about the map of the isle of hags we see from that top down view we get in cloud cuckoo land. Would be interested to see the projects take on that. The original had some landmarks but it would be cool to see it all properly fit together.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I like Banjo Tooie better than the first game. I'm pretty sure because Banjo Tooie was the first one I played, but it does have more expansive worlds and better game play and character features. The first one is great, don't get me wrong, but I'll always prefer the second one. A remake/overhaul like this for both games would be a dream come true.

The feeling is mutual. These games (Kazooie and Tooie) were a huge part of my childhood too. I'd spend 60 bucks in a heartbeat on a remake like this.

The thing I love most is the monstrous mechanical mud muncher, otherwise known as Hag-1. Think about how savage it was to have a drill equipped tank as a final boss.

I rediscovered my Rare Replay with Banjo Kazooie and Tooie, and was immediately addicted to the the first one. I never got to play Tooie, but I can now, and I'm hoping it's as amazing as Kazooe. :)

This is magnificent. On a side note, I always wondered about the map of the isle of hags we see from that top down view we get in cloud cuckoo land. Would be interested to see the projects take on that. The original had some landmarks but it would be cool to see it all properly fit together.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I like Banjo Tooie better than the first game. I'm pretty sure because Banjo Tooie was the first one I played, but it does have more expansive worlds and better game play and character features. The first one is great, don't get me wrong, but I'll always prefer the second one. A remake/overhaul like this for both games would be a dream come true.
