The vocalist is Ian Curtis reborn, and sounds like sounds like Irish Peter Steele when he speaks. Quality sound from the band as well- look forward to hearing more!
These guys are such a special gift to the music world. It's lovely to have that feeling of excitement about a band - I haven't had it for years. Cracking performance. Well done to all involved. Band of the decade, by a country mile.
I agree with you, lots of similar bands coming through now but these are on a different level.
HMLTD is awesome if you're into the whole Bowie / Bauhuas thing.

For me, I hear Modern Lovers influences... Saw Fontains D.C. open for IDLES two nights ago at the Rock and Roll Hotel in Wash. D.C. - IT ROCKED!!! ...and here I am on TH-cam looking for more Fontains D.C.! Well done guys!
I saw them with IDLES in Baltimore a couple of days before the DC shows. Since then I saw IDLES at 9:30 Club and Fontaines DC at U Street Music Hall. I assume you were at both of those too!

We're in Toulouse but..... Lead Guitars are- José Peril(english), Mr Tony(irish). Lead Drums are- GoGo(french). we do garage punk drunk rock. an we do it good... until gin gets involved. WE'RE NOT ALCOHOLICS, WE'RE JUST REALLY SHIT AT BEING SOBER
Other good and similar bands from Ireland are Melts(A bit like The Horrors and Stone Roses) and Just Mustard(would remind you of My Bloody Valentine it Broadcast)

John really does like these guys. He definitely turned me onto them. Dynamite sound. Really tight. Great drummer. Plus they seem like such nice lads. And suspiciously handsome, too. I'd like to see them tour with Parquet Courts. Methinks that would be an amazing show. Good stuff right here.

feels like Grian (singer)'s microphone is quieter than the other instruments, like when there was less going on (like the beginning of liberty belle) I could finally hear him properly? absolutely class band, makes me want to go to 80s dublin, gives me Sing Street vibes

The sound is all over the bloody shop, not up to usual KEXP standard.
I am nearly weeping over how fantastic these guys are. What the hell have I been doing with my life that I didn't know about them before today?
This has got to be my favourite KEXP performance. My dad showed this to me almost 3 years ago and it just got me hooked. Theres something about the energy and gitteryness that they have in this performance that keeps me coming back every time. Fontaines are just awesome

The lead singer is a mix of some different singers that he resembles and the Fontaines sound is very like a mix of other things that they sound similar too. Which is nice.

What the heck is happening in the UK? Nothing but really great energetic music and tuneful songwriting? I've never heard of these guys, but yeah, pretty great stuff! Just great really! (And, what's this... touring with Shame? My other fave find of 2018...)
I read that later... they might not be pleased with my error. Nevertheless, something is going on "over there" that is rather different from what is happening here in the States. Good stuff though, I know you'll agree.
