The non-o is also cheaper when you renew it, assuming you go through the same agent. If you use a different agent when renewing than the one you did your initial visa with it can be like starting the process over again and you might need to pay the full 25k+ amount again. If you go through the same agent it should be around 12k depending upon who your agent is.
Hi would you please consider another similar video, a look ahead say every 2-3 years on a chart, showing how insurance will increase, what happens to the cash on an o visa resting in a Thai bank, how can you stay there for say 20 years, with an annual trip back to uk and a local flights to say Vietnam. Does it cost anything for a Thai bank, does your money get interest in a Thai bank. Thankyou
Can't you get the type O visa in Thailand by providing your home country's bank statement that shows monthly retirement income that meets their requirements?
@@welshwyn It's confusing to me anyway because the official Thai Immigration website has the caveat of 800,000 thb in a Thai bank OR 65,000 thb verified monthly retirement income. I'll be there in a few months and visit an Immigration office in Bangkok for clarification. If they don't accept my verification of retirement income that exceeds their requirement then it's off to Cambodia for me.
I was going to sell my house and use the interest and some savings until i get my state pension in 4 years time if we will get the state pension by then, but its the tax thats the problem,or was thinking do 3 months in thailand and 3 months in siam reapand keep alternating
Non O is cheaper and easier but apply always in your home country....don't need health insurance, no health check, no background check....only proof of income neccessary or 800K in Thai Bank account 2 month before renew at Thai immigration. To open a bank account you need a proof of Thai residence from immigration.
Hi Wyn, I’m due in November and was heading down the O Visa route until you mention the OA, my question is about the insurance, firstly who do you get it through and secondly, because the OA application obviously takes time, you need that insurance to compliment the application, so if it takes months to get the visa surely the insurance cover will have started?? Or do you get the insurance with a start date of your arrival date and submit that? How long does the OA application take? Cheers
@@michaelstoll5259 Have a look at companies in Thailand like AXA or Luma you can purchase online and make the start date when you arrive in Thailand. The OA application in your home Country should take about 2 weeks.👍
Further to my previous comment, if not using an agent for the O visa, how do you set up a bank account, or will an agent do this as a stand alone item? Cheers
Excellent information, thank you. I have two questions, 1. Does either visa have seasoning requirements for the bank funds? Meaning do funds need to be in the account for a certain amount of time. And 2. What town or province are you in? It’s beautiful!
