Thanks for the vids! I have been to Thailand many times over the last 19 years, and I am starting to think of retiring there. I like the idea of the travel videos geared toward a potential retirement spot. It sounds like you spend a lot of time on your motorbike. Thats the way I would like to see Thailand someday.
Thanks for the Super Thanks Dew😁. I really appreciate it! 😁. Yeah I love riding my bike. I've been riding bikes on and off since I was a kid, I love the sence of freedom it brings. If this video does well I will create more videos like it. Thailand is an awesome place to retire, stop thinking about and pull the pin and do it, 555. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it and thanks again for the Super😁😄😊
There are some adjustments to be sure. My Thai wife of 15 years and I had been coming here from the U.S. on vacations for years before we made the permanent move and so far it’s been a great last couple years. Glad it’s working out for you and your Mrs! I think those of us that come here happily married already fare a lot better than the single guys coming off bad relationships.
Yeah very true. If you've been coming here for years you don't have to adjust much once you do move here permanently. And having a Thai wife all those years definitely helps. I have learned a lot about Thailand from my wife over the years. Glad you liked the video, thanks for watching.
Mate, i ended up a single dad with 3 kids in a tiny hot rural village.....and i still wouldnt want to be anywhere else even on my worst days. As long as i keep " let go" in my mind here everything eventually works out....on thai time not mine, and that was a great lesson.

We still live in Australia but we go to Thailand for 5 months each year. My wife's family live in Klong 3, Rangsit. We went to Pathum Thani to do my 60 day extension of my 3 month visa last year and it was SO much easier than dealing with immigration head office in Chaengwattana. We'll be back over in a couple of weeks and even considering the heat we're heading to, I'm so looking forward to it. 🙏
I bet you're looking forward to it! exciting time for you. We live at canal 4 just up the road. We are in Kanchanaburi for a few days, it was 43°c. Thanks for watching 👀 😊

Always nice to see a farang enjoying the area where we hang out. We've got land at Klong 14 too but doubt we'll ever do anything with it. At this time at age 64 I can't see going to the hassle of building anything on it and we kinda enjoy the chance to spend 5 months travelling around in Thailand each year then coming back home to the Gold Coast or travelling somewhere else for the rest of the time. We leave our car over there with sister in law so as soon as we get back we'll take off looking around the country...we usually do about 15,000km each year, staying with friends or family or just hanging out at local places. This is my first time on your vlog, and I agree with you that you look much better with your weight loss. Similar to you, I was struggling to lose weight until I met my Thai wife. Now I am much thinner. However, when I am back in the UK, I struggle to keep it off. I am looking forward to coming back to Thailand in August and eventually retiring there in Surin province.
I feel a lot better for it too. I think the weather in Thailand has a lot to do with it too. August is only a few weeks away mate, start packing, 555. thanks for watching.
Great video Dave! Fantastic to hear your attitude on life after 6 months in Thailand. Great to hear about you losing weight and feeling healthier. I am a few years away from doing the same although my plan is to semi-retire first. Ive been going to Thailand for about 15 years for holidays so I have an idea on what to expect, but great to hear your perspective and will continue to follow your channel. Keep up the good work!

Congratulations on bringing your dream to fruition. That's wonderful. I live in the US and the corporate back-stabbing & office politics is a global problem. It's the narcissists, sociopaths, malignant narcissists, and psychopaths who make life on this planet toxic in varying degrees. They are everywhere, sadly. I hear Canadians complains about it, as well as the Brits. Pretty much the only people I haven't heard complain about it are the French, but their culture is one of uniting and protesting, so they strike if they don't receive their pay and benefits. Yeah I've worked in factories and workshop's doing really physically demanding jobs most of my life. For the last 8 years of my working life I was a disabilities support worker. Very little physical demand in that job. That is one of the reasons why I packed on the weight. But comming to Thailand and loosing 20kg has probably saved my life! But, recently I have put on 2kg. But I've put a stop to that. Thanks for watching😁
I was in Bangkok 2 weeks ago and it was hot but no worse than Australia. My wife and I were their to buy a house and ended up buying a townhouse in thanyaburi and are going to slowly transition to full time living their over the next 18months
Hi mate Barry here from Brisbane just come across your video good job with the move to Thailand. I am trying to get retired in the next three years. Hi Barry, yes it's sad what has been happening in Australia. It isn't the same Australia we grew up in that's for sure!! Good luck with your retirement plan, I hope it all goes well. Thanks for watching 😊 and thanks so much for subscribing, I really appreciate it mate😃

10years living in Thailand best thing i ever did,do not come with the intention of carrying on your previous way of life adapt to Thai life and culture, get an interest and a daily routine, meet other people converse and integrate, exercise regularly ie walking, swimming, etc,DO NOT,spend everyday sitting in bars, listening to other people moaning about how they miss their old life ,how much health insurance and hospital costs are expensive,in Thailand and a lot of other countries its the same situation if you cannot afford it do not come, Think of the benefits,no heating bills no winters, cheap Thai food ,transport costs lower than most countries, etc etc Finally DO NOT SIT ON YOUR OWN GET OUT MEET PEOPLE AND TAKE AN INTEREST IN OTHER PEOPLE AND YOUR SURROUNDINGS, Enjoy Thailand and count your blessings, heaven and hell are full of people who would gladly change places with you,🎉🎉
Definitely some good advice in your comment! Just clicked over my first year in Thailand, nothing has changed, still loving life here!!Thanks for watching 😁
Glad you liked my video and I'm really glad it was inspiring!! Thats the main peice of advice I give to people thinking of moving here That have never been here or only been here for a few short holidays. 40c and riding on the “wrong side” of the road. Life ain’t all rainbows indeed 😂 But look at that transformation. Major health improvement. Cheers from Texas and thanks for the report. I’m 61 and getting close 👍
No no no we drive on the right side which is on the left, lol. In Australia where I'm from we drive on the left so I'm totally familiar with driving on the left. It was a relentless brutal hot summer this year. I'm really happy with my weight loss! Problem is I've put on 2kg since I made this video. Time to do something about that. I don't want to go anywhere near as fat as I was! Thanks for watching.
@@SABAI15 everyone has advise, but I’ll just say (1) muscle = strength of course but it’s also 24/7 metabolism and it’s a great glycogen storage system so can even out your daily sugar levels. So twice a week. (2) cardio at two levels: base (zone 2) is typically 220-age @ 60-70% and do this 150-200 minutes weekly. Max it out once each week for repeated bouts of 3-4min x 4 repeats You’ll be Superman before you know it 💪🏽
you did us dirty with the clickbait title but you didnt have to punish yourself by filming under the heat mate 😂. Anyways congrats on the weightloss, you look much healthier and vibrant now. Youtubing difficult and takes alot of preserverance, but you will get better as time goes by.
I have learned little bits and pieces here and there. I will learn properly when I have time, and that isn't an excuse, it's a fact. I get by well enough for time being. Thanks for watching 😄
looks like Northern Territory plates on it should buy it and export back to OZ ... you would get $40,000 for it at home costs $5,000 to ship from Bali as an indication
@@SABAI15 , all good , just saying what I've seen around , not meaning every one of them goes for 80,000 but have seen the odd one , mainly see a lot around the 40,000
I like the continuity in the opening scenes.. When I did my video course nearly 50 years ago I remember them telling us, every time when you stop the camera always change the camera angle/move the camera.. You need to work on your colour matching though!! Otherwise I was quite impressed with this sequence. Was Noi holding the camera?
No it was done solo. The zooming in and out was done in editing. Colour matching is bit over my head. I will learn as I go though. I'm glad you enjoyed it. You must be getting excited now mate. Not long and you will be in Thailand 😄
Thanks for that, glad you liked it. I've had a few people ask me about doing a video review of my ADV350. it's on my radar, I'll do a review of it soon. Thanks for watching 😄
Yeah it is. it is a bit under powered when overtaking at anything over about 70-80kph, you just have to give yourself more time, it's not a big problem though. other than that it's great for touring on and nipping around the city. Obviously not as easy to manoeuvre through really tight Bangkok traffic like it is on a smaller scooter. Thanks for watching.
Nice video , Im on a weight loss jorurney as well, down 9 kilos so far another 20 to go. Enjoy everyday. I feel the calmness as well after moving & retirement in Thhailand. no pissin and moaning allowed haha Godd Day.
Are you living in Pathum Thani ? Me and my partner live around 10 clicks north of Thammasat university , such a wonderful area to live in and hardly any farangs to bump into
Some body else goes abroad and thinks it should be similar as home. Sorry life aint isn't like that its a different country and you capitol Y have to realise that and follow in with the locals that means there life style. If you can not do that don't go.
We ( my partner , Ian , and i ) have 3 dogs and a cat who would need to relocate with us . Visa requirements - is there a company which can negotiate these issues for Farangs ? I rarely make suggestions , but - Back ground music is a tad too loud . Please don';t be offended .
I'm not really sure but from what I have heard the requirements to bring a dog from Australia to Thailand are nowhere near as strict as bringing a dog into Australia. Thanks for your feedback about the audio levels of the background music. Thanks for watching😊
There are several good videos on YT that break down monthly expenses for life in Thailand, a lot of them provide a pretty good idea of what you'll need. Agree with Dave that 50K is a bit on the low side if you want to enjoy more than the basics.
@@SABAI15 Dont agree unless youre thinking Bangkok. 50000? Rural thais live on 15k a month. No way will you need that much . Unless you marry a bar girl😟😟😟😟😟

The old how much money do you need question is a bit like asking how long a piece string, so many variables. Like as you said location is a big factor, lifestyle is a big factor. What you call a comfortable life etc ect. But I personally wouldn't want to do it on much less.
I’m moving to Pattaya in a few years. I can’t wait. For first year I’ll live in Pattaya. Then decide if I’ll move to different city in Thailand. I’m also going to visit Vietnam. And other countries nearby. And probably Philippines

I’m an Aussie living in Phuket got my bike in my name and still on a tourist visa, retirement visa coming soon! I have international licence 3 years $50 a year
The rules obviously vary from province to province. I have heard of tourists having bikes registered in there names. Maybe it's somw tourist Provinces that allow it. Where I live in Pathumthani province os ceartainly not a tourist hot spot, I had to have a certificate of residency. But I couldn't get my certificate of residency until I had my first 12 month extension on my non o visa based on marriage. 4 bloody months I had to wait! thanks for watching 😊
Yeah I've had a couple of people complain about the music being too loud at the end. When I was editing it it sounded fine on my laptop. but listening back on my phone and it was distracting.
It ok when your moving in quiet areas. But in Bangkok and other busy areas it's properly hot when stopped in traffic. I have a vented mesh jacket and it's still hot in that on the open roads.
Why did you have to wait 4 mths to get the certificate? If you’ve got some proof of residence its 500 baht. No receipt as there is no official fee for the Certificate. 555 Learn Thai and you'll enjoy your retirement more. You’ve got a yellow book and pink card so you don't need a resident certificate to put a vehicle in your name. Tom
As I mentioned in the video, I could not apply for my certificate of residency until I had my first 1 year visa extension. Also i couldn't get my yellow book or pink card until I had my certificate of residency. All up it took 4 months of waiting for my visa extension and certificate of residency. If I were to buy a new vehicle now I wouldn't have a problem. I will learn Thai properly eventually. I don't have time at the moment. I know little bits and pieces and I get by ok for now. Thanks for watching 😄

Great video, is it a fairly simple process to renew your passport whilst overseas ? I would have thought would of been way easier for you to action last year before you moved over giving yourself 9 years till you had to do it again, Thanks for replying yesterday, More focussed on making this a reality than ever,
Thanks mate, glad you liked it. I was going to renew it before I left, but as you can imagine I had a lot on my plate to organise with selling my property and organising everything. In the end, I didn't because it's still valid until November this year. From what I've heard it's pretty straight forward to apply for it in Thailand. I reply to all the comments, but as the channel grows and I get more and more comments I think my replies will end up shorter and shorter, lol. But I enjoy the interaction in the comments.

Don't quote me on thus but, I thunk the HR came out with a 179. I think the 186 was introduced in the next model the HK. Apparently it is very rare to find an old red motor in HR's etc. Apparently instead of rebuilding the red motors they replaced them with Japanese 6 cylinder motors. I went the other way and gained weight. My job in Australia as a tradie was physically though. Nearly 4 years in Thailand now after retiring at 56.

It’s so hard to live here all cost are through the roof. Me and my Thai partner can’t wait to get to Khon kaen. I agree with everything you said I am over it here too. Just subscribed 👍
Hi Barry, yes it's sad what has been happening in Australia. It isn't the same Australia we grew up in that's for sure!! Good luck with your retirement plan, I hope it all goes well. Thanks for watching 😊 and thanks so much for subscribing, I really appreciate it mate😃

10years living in Thailand best thing i ever did,do not come with the intention of carrying on your previous way of life adapt to Thai life and culture, get an interest and a daily routine, meet other people converse and integrate, exercise regularly ie walking, swimming, etc,DO NOT,spend everyday sitting in bars, listening to other people moaning about how they miss their old life ,how much health insurance and hospital costs are expensive,in Thailand and a lot of other countries its the same situation if you cannot afford it do not come,
Think of the benefits,no heating bills no winters, cheap Thai food ,transport costs lower than most countries, etc etc
Finally DO NOT SIT ON YOUR OWN GET OUT MEET PEOPLE AND TAKE AN INTEREST IN OTHER PEOPLE AND YOUR SURROUNDINGS,
Enjoy Thailand and count your blessings, heaven and hell are full of people who would gladly change places with you,🎉🎉
Definitely some good advice in your comment! Just clicked over my first year in Thailand, nothing has changed, still loving life here!!Thanks for watching 😁

Thats the main peice of advice I give to people thinking of moving here That have never been here or only been here for a few short holidays. Spend 3 months here and make sure Thailand is for you. it's not everyone's cup of tea. Where abouts are you thinking of going in Thailand?

Max it out once each week for repeated bouts of 3-4min x 4 repeats
You’ll be Superman before you know it 💪🏽

Yeah Thai immigration is sllllowww. It's still mostly a paper based system. Thanks for watching.

Thats an adv 350 a very serious travel bike. Smart!!!
Yeah it is. it is a bit under powered when overtaking at anything over about 70-80kph, you just have to give yourself more time, it's not a big problem though. other than that it's great for touring on and nipping around the city. Obviously not as easy to manoeuvre through really tight Bangkok traffic like it is on a smaller scooter.
Thanks for watching.

There are several good videos on YT that break down monthly expenses for life in Thailand, a lot of them provide a pretty good idea of what you'll need. Agree with Dave that 50K is a bit on the low side if you want to enjoy more than the basics.

Not crappy but certainly too loud. Good video, though.
It's gotta be real hot with riding that bike with all the cover on
It ok when your moving in quiet areas.
Learn Thai and you'll enjoy your retirement more.
You’ve got a yellow book and pink card so you don't need a resident certificate to put a vehicle in your name.
