It's easier to get the single entry non-immigrant O visa online in UK (cost £60) - giving you 90 days to sort out your bank account, accommodation etc before applying for 1 year extension ie "retirement visa".
I've been trying to get as much info on the O-VISA by watching as many videos as possible, this one is by far the most explicit and informative. Thanks for doing this.
You enter on the 1 month tourist visa, the next day head to an agent they will set up everything for you for around 35000 baht.. and within 28 days you get 15 months stay.. renew every year for usually half the amount..
biggest problem i has i not understand english good not easy speak whit peoples in office. thats have one why many uses agent, all can speak and make before all procress in agent office if need, but i not need my Thai girlfriend help lot i make visa.
Thanks for posting this video, very helpful indeed! One question - did you have a long-term accommodation address sorted when you went through the agent, or did he/she help with this?
Thank you for the very clear way in which you have explained this. I am getting very close to doing this, I also wonder if you could give a little more detail about the bank account and the 800k baht, (how/when or do I transfer money into the bank), cheers and thanks again. Phil.
You will not need to deposit your own 800K into a bank account. Choose a good agent - there are many. They will arrange that for you. Keep your money in your home country bank account...
Thanks for the information. I'm about to start the process here in chiang mai. Im wondering if i do the 90-day reporting what info do i need to take along with me? Looking forward to your future videos 😊
That will depend on your agent. What I will say is that you do not need to deposit your own 800K. This is a conversation you should have with your agent early on.
Use of an agent is a widespread method used by 1000s of retirees in Thailand. Agents and Immigration are intrinsically linked. Use a well established agent and you have no issues.
@@MikeStoll-xt4qh I have never done this, but know it happens all over the country. They simply use the office account to prove you have the fund's.. obviously comes at a cost . That's as much as I know .

Excellent lecture and guide. Even the roaming cost issue is not forgotten.

Great information. Thanks bro
Thank you for clear and direct information, very informative…. I was told you must have a Thai insurance policy as well. any comments on best ones?
Excellent video & information, thanks for sharing.
You can also enter on a 1 month tourist and change over to non O retirement..
Peter is this also applicable when entering Thailand on a visa exemption?

Leave everything like that to the agent...

Very informative thank you. Was the £800 the total cost or is it plus visa costs?
That is the total cost - nothing more...

Get a good agent - and they will do the 90 day reporting for you :)
Can you advise on how the agent facilitates the 800K please? Mike
That will depend on your agent. What I will say is that you do not need to deposit your own 800K. This is a conversation you should have with your agent early on.
You have no worries using an agent to pay under the table to allow you to have a Visa without the 800k in an account ?
Use of an agent is a widespread method used by 1000s of retirees in Thailand. Agents and Immigration are intrinsically linked. Use a well established agent and you have no issues.
Chris is this correct? How does it work as I’ve seen other videos saying the deposit has to sit in the account for certain various periods of time?
