Just a heads up, the TD doesn't stand for "turbo diesel" it stands for "touring diesel" this car is actually a naturally aspirated 5 cylinder diesel. Mercedes used the "T" lettering to designate their wagons in the w123 and w124 models.
@@Royvdl kompressor for turbo petrol mercs, older turbodiesels were called TDT if they were wagons, and just TD if they were sedans, usually it had a big "turbodiesel" badge on the rear. A badge which i would need in my 290 turbodiesel S210😁 (example w210 is a sedan, s210 is a wagon)
To think that I found this channel by mistake and now watched his whole journey. Whole inspiration I'd love to have my own detailing business here in South Africa 🇿🇦
Ive been watching your videos with my 12 yr old son. He is totally into cars. He says he loves your videos because they remind him of a string of videos termed "satisfying". Its just people doing very precise things to objects. Perfect cuts, perfect lines, etc. I have to agree that your detailing definitely fits that description! We are addicted!
These are really great cars! Just a little correction: this is not a Turbodiesel, the TD stands for "Touring Diesel", because it is a wagon. This one has the naturally aspirated OM602 (2.5L 5-cylinder) with around 90 HP. The turbo version would have a "Turbo" badge on the right side of the rear hatch.
Hello Mr Larry,I'm Your big fan! For Me, the expression of your face, faces, emotions are completely natural and indispensable in watching someone clean the windows so nicely...
5:23 Greetings from The Netherland(s) Larry! Lived close to Veghel, so maybe I saw this S124 many moons ago. You made this Merc shine again! YS-95-KJ left our country 6 years ago. Good to see that she is been taken care of very well. Too bad that diesel costs more than regular petrol here these days. Diesels are so relaxing to drive, as you said.
You make it all look so easy, almost too easy, always with your friendly smile 😊 so don‘t mind the faces you make while cleaning the windows, it just gives us a glimpse of all the effort you actually put in every single car!
Mr. Kosilla, I don’t know if you see this but I could have the worst week/day not smiling that much but when it’s Friday you make feel very good that I found your channel! ❤❤❤
I have been driving taxi in that model (the W124)for 9 years, so it's kind of coming home. I've washed those cars so many times. Love that car 🥰 So great to see one come back to live 👍
Cool to find out it come from the Netherlands! The white license plate you found is the one we use for trailers. I checked the license plate and found it had 4 owners here in the Netherlands
Actually 250TD in this case does NOT mean TurboDiesel but Touring/Tourismo pointing to be a station wagon (Kombi in German) The Turbo Diesel versions (250 and 300) always had sliced air intakes on the front right fender.
The platte you show at about 6:50 is a Dutch plate for a light trailer. It is the same combination as the car has. I looked it up and it says it was first registered on the 30st of August in 1990. Last registration in the Netherlands as it was sold to a new owner was 21st of August 2015.
Thanks Larry for being such a great inspiration/ teacher when it come to detailing. Your videos were the catalyst that got me into detailing and I just recently picked up a Honda Accord that had been sitting for ten years now I’m cleaning and fixing up thanks for the awesome videos!
I absolutely love these disaster cars and the way you make them new again ! It's just incredible how you can make a used car seem like new again and feel the charm of it's time
My late uncle LOVED these cars. Let me drive his once - handled beautifully on the curvy roads. This generation of Benz was so wonderfully overbuilt and near-bullet proof!
Remember running across AMMO NYC channel a few years ago and thought, “oh a big, over marketed channel” I have binge watched practically this whole channel the past month. What a fantastic channel!! Thanks for the great content Larry! And video/editors!
I love that era of MB paint, it just polishes up so nicely. I had an '87 300E that I hand polished about 15 years ago after I learned of and used a clay bar for the first time. That was one hell of a memorial day weekend of 100°+ temps but the car looked incredible afterwards.
Dear Larry, U DONT KNOW HOW LONG I WAS WAITING FOT THIS EPISODE. I was checking for it every day, thankyou soooo much. this transformation was amazing. ❤❤
I wish I could afford a car like this. These manual Mercedes are very rare in the US. The Mercedes car turned into a trailer at 5:16 is absolutely hilarious. Great job. Thank you.
Absolutely fabulous work, Larry. You never fail to amaze me with your work, I'm always in awe. The after shots are just fantastic. You made the car look well looked after. Keep doing what you're doing buddy, I'm certain you're gonna reach the top!
That's a truly awesome car, I mean, it's a W124, of course, it is. The engine is one of those million miles engines. They're getting more rare even here in Germany.
I ran the Old Licenseplate and it was exported from the Netherlands in Sep 2016. The first owner had the car until 2001. In total it had 5 owners in the Netherlands. Just wanted to let you know. Love the channel and the work you do 🙏
That looks amazing! You know what would be cool, the next amazing detail you do, divide the car in half and only detail the other half. Then take it to your local cars and coffee meet. The guys would love that.
It is so satisfying to watch neglected autos come back around to looking nearly showroom quality. Obviously some are too damged to be just that. But this today was. Something I would have seen back in the day. I watch a lot of rescue type shows. I keep thinking "well they got it running...wonder what Larry could do to make it shine again" Like the GTO that Vice Grip Garage fella is restoring for a milirary vet. Oh well. Keep it up. I learn a lot watching your videos...and Ill be honest...they are very relaxing.....
As a diesel and wagon fan myself as well, I was hoping you would've kept it for yourself! Those old Mercedes are just built like tanks and could run forever! Fantastic video, I was waiting for this to come out since the beige video came out 😌
Old Mercedes cars esp from this era 70s to 90s almost always come back like new after a deep detailing. They are so satisfying to restore. Glad you kept the car and wheels/tires stock, old Mercedes are best sold stock. Those whitewalls on the 300CD were an eyesore
this car lost tons after your detail lol, the amount of dirt was shocking on the floor. at the end i was thinking you were gonna keep it but i hope it we'll be fine with the new owner. amazing work as always
I think one of the first videos I seen of yours was when you and Dan went in to that warehouse of literally hundreds of cars and since then, I've been hooked!!
Great video and was a trip down memory lane for me. This same model and year, is what my mom and stepdad bought when he started making good money in Real Estate. It hauled kids, dogs, for sale signs, etc for many many years.
Larry, you get to make whatever face you want while cleaning glass, LOL. You the man! Beautiful restoration to beauty. And the teaser with the GT4RS, just not fair 🥵. Continued success and thanks for sharing.
These are still quite popular in Portugal and other Southern European countries as well as in the East. These are from an era that gave Mercedes their status and well built fame. I've been itching to get one, as my daily, my mountain bike hauler and beach car. Now if I could only let my Alfa go... 😎 Another fantastic video Larry, cheers bud!
Hey Larry. Just wanted to say thanks for the great content. I've learned so much about detailing and I've started taking theory to practice and using techniques I've learned from your videos on my own vehicles. They look great and I feel like I can only get better with more equipment. Keep on doing what you're doing!
Man, a clean 3 pedal diesel wagon with manual crank windows. What a killer spec. The new owner got a smoking deal at 11.7. Would have been very tempted by that if I had seen the auction.
The white liscense plate that you found in the back of the station is a Dutch registration plate that you would put on a trailer if you're twowing it with the car.
are there any cars you'd want to do? I love the vintage Mercedes content. I'd really like to see a 126 coupe on here , or maybe a later R129 or 107. I love how passionate you are about detailing, but also about cars in general. Keep up the amazing work.
The cocoons you see are the egg sacs of the Brown Widow (Brownish body, orange hourglass, and black/yellow legs). In my experience, if the egg sacs look really spiky, they are probably decoy/old egg sacs created to fend off predators. Normally, the ones with eggs are more round but still slightly spiky.
Nice job again Larry! Being Dutch and a Mercedes fan I spotted the license plate and can add to all comments that the car had a sticker price of € 42,156 back in 1990, a lot of money back then. But looking at the car after Larry put his magic on it you can see why. Mercedes really built quality cars in that period.

Another great detail project for sure!! any recommendations for red faded seat belt buttons? What can be used to restore them from crusty white to bright red? Thanks
Again I will say that I have said on previous black Mercedes video this is the quality of Mercedes a 10yr old paint looks absolutely phenomenal after 2 step process wow to the quality of Mercedes I only Watch Mercedes 😅 restoration videos bcz I know that It will look just 🔥

Mercedes puts Kompressor on the car when its a turbo car. Not sure when they started doing that though
Came looking for this comment :).
I think they used TDT or TD T for turbo models.

Right after I noticed the faces he makes when cleaning glass he addressed it which made it 10x funnier. Love the content man.

@NAJVAN_GAMER nah spiders are good man. they eat the bad insects.

@NAJVAN_GAMER you shouldn't have cockroaches in your house those are worse for you than spiders.
