  • Last time we introduced NIO ET5, but we didn't give much time on NIO's autonomous driving and the battery swap. This time, with NIO ES7, we are going to test Navigation on Pilot feature in Beijing's busy traffic and highway. Also, we will see if battery swap could be a solution for EVs' long recharge time.

NIO offer both battery swap and fast charging? I guess no battery degradation, offering higher residual car value?

Absolute nosense. If you buy the battery you cannot use the swap station. If you use the swap station the battery price has no effect on the residual value of the car. The next customer will have to pay for the battery again.

Loving our nio and battery swap. The option to purchase the car less battery price fits us as we drive long distance, a 5min battery swap saves time for sure.

Awesome video, I enjoy the American perspective on NIO Auto-Pilot (FSD). I hope you do an update video with the NT2.0 software update. Battery Swap Stations are great and can back up the grid when needed. $NIO

NIO currently I believe is the only company that is doing battery swapping at a market level in China. Like the narrator said it is convenient when needed. You can charge your car just like any other EV on the market but swapping adds a additional option that no other company has available. I like the idea because I truly Because the day is coming when you are going to have a massive amount of older Teslas that are going to need batteries replaced and the owners are going to have a eye awaking experience at the cost. Set up your Tesla wrecking yard because you will be able sell used parts at a discount price with all the unusable Teslas .

The problem with FSD is the fine tuning on each drivers preference, in terms of aggressive / non aggressive driving.

If NIO adds car wash while battery swapping, and charge a fee, I would do it in a heartbeat

Waiting time can be improved by more battery swapping stations.

Your statement on Tesla's inability to find the budget for implementing a battery swap system is inaccurate. Tesla decided that it was not viable for them for two reasons. Firstly, they did not want to commit to reserving battery packs for swapping purposes since doing so would slow the growth they were trying to achieve. Their goal was to use every battery pack in production. Designating a percentage of battery packs was therefore not within their overall goals. Secondly, the supercharging network idea would, in the long run, position Tesla as the premier charging network, bringing with it a significant revenue stream. Battery swapping is limiting in this regard.

Yes, and no battery degradations or problems EVER with NIO if you are leasing the battery.

I love the NIO. I don't have to buy that battery which depletes and depreciates and I can always upgrade to the latest battery tech in future. First off, I come from owning Tesla cars. One Model X and one Model 3. My wife's Model X is currently in Tesla Service Center waiting for rear motor replacement due to real drive motor dying at 72,000 miles. My Model 3 has interior rattle noise. It is such a nuisance. I also normally get between 78% and 82% of claimed range only for the Model 3. The Model 3 is not stellar and its Autopilot is not reliable as of 2023. It suddenly slammed on its brakes when I was on the left most lane (the fastest lane in USA) and there was a car in the second right lane slowing down due to merge lane ahead. It has nothing to do with my leftmost fastest lane, but the Model 3 still slammed its brake. The autopilot is also not reliable in rainy or foggy conditions. The side cameras have tendency to be "blocked, and autopilot is disabled" message comes on screen quite often. Tesla needs to spend some money and put some nice radar sensors and LiDAR too, besides the cameras on a Tesla is only 2 mega-pixels, NIO is already using 8 mega-pixels. Tesla cars are cheap for a reason. After owning one for about a year, I am not as impressed as some TH-camrs want me to be.

Nio is not smart at all. At a time when it takes less and less time um charge they come up with swap stations. Very soon all of them will be stranded assets.

Not any fast charger can charge a 100kwh battery in 4 minutes but nio can swap it in 4 minutes
