- The Cessna CJ4 is a really fun gateway to flying fast jets in Microsoft Flight Simulator. The flight planning is very similar to what you do in the larger Airbus A320 or CRJ-700, but everything else is simpler and more user-friendly. You also get the chance to fly to weird and wacky locations, and develop your skills landing in all sorts of airports.
The Working Title mod is fairly essential if you are flying seriously (linked below). It adds alot of great features to the avionics that are very useful for flying on ATC networks like Vatsim.
As always, these videos are intended to expose people to the fun aspects of flying these different aircraft. These airplanes are not perfect, and I am certainly not an expert in their operation in real life nor in the sim. If you have anything to add, correct, or any fun CJ4 stories drop a comment below!

Just love this aircraft. Clearly my favourite aircraft in the hangar. There are so many additional features that you can use throughout the flight, e.g., Setting Vspeeds with the local weather, TOGA on takeoff, FLC mode to climb, Holds at Navpoints, VNAV to automatically descend at your TOD, Again Vspeeds for the destination airport to ensure you manage your approach correctly, using the approaches to airports ILS/RNAV/VOR approaches. Great job Working Title.
Not able to bind autopilot functions to controllers with Workingtitles version is a big "NO" for me in VR. Also model of the cabin interior is very rough. More like LOD2 level with lights leaking through everywhere. This plane just isn't finished.
OK, you've sold me on my next purchase in the FSE world. I'm currently having a blast with my TBM 930 but sometimes wish she had a couple more seats and flew a bit faster. I doubt I'll ever get rid of the TBM as she's just so much fun, but something slightly bigger and faster would be fun as well, although that would preclude flying in/out of some of the sketchy places the TBM can handle.
Good news, this is freeware my man.
Definitely a fun aircraft and great video... I seem to run into DISC on the flt plan always and cannot remove them. Using the delete method or moving following waypoint to the DISC row seems not to work. Is that something the working title is working on ? I have the latest mod (i think) and still some weirdness.
Very long time Simmer here. I’ve owned the most complex AC you could purchase. I love study level. This plane is up there with them if not better than most. Hey guys use the White and Orange balls by the AOA on center windshield support to set your views. Should see even amount of orange coming from around the white especially in landing views.
When will working title bring this to Xbox? I just can’t fly the vanilla CJ4 with the u turn bug out there. Ruins a flight when your workload goes through the roof on descent without warning or the AP gets in a weird state and you have to hand fly the rest of the way.
I thought WT would at least release it as a beta soon after the announcement of their portfolio last month.
I'm new to MSFS, how do you get interior cabin views like that?
There are bindings in the MSFS controls to move the camera around, I believe they're called "view translate"
Nice flight and good landing mate. I love flying the CJ4 for many of the reasons you mention. I've done a flight from that ocean reef club airport, really pretty area (try a sunrise or sunset), out to the Cayman Islands but with the Diamond DA52. I might want to take the CJ4 out of that airport and head to Cozumel or Jamaica. If so ill be sure to bring my sun tan lotion and pilot shades 🌴🍹😎
What a beautiful and nice plane to fly. Very detailed systems, FMC etc. The only thing I miss is the door opening/close but that just a visual nicety. Great job by WT. It's my favorite nowadays. Currently version 0.12.11. 👨✈️
This is becoming my new favorite with the working title mod. I love taking off vfr then just typing in the approach and letting the cj4 do most of the approach.
Are you also having trouble with the autopilot or just me? I can't get the autopilot to capture localizer or glide slope for ILS approaches.
Not in my testing, have had some funkiness with certain waypoints but its been hit or miss
I haven't installed it yet... but before I do, I wanted to know, is default buggy? or is it just me not flying properly?
Haven't flown it in some time, I think its fairly stable but its been awhile

Long story short - if klicking the Autopilot-Button with the mouse doesn't kill you AND
if you can live with the limitation, that changing the approach after you started an approach is a bad idea (you should get clearance by ATC way earlier anyway) - this plane/mod should be a good companion by now. Rgds,

I like the way you are zooming in and out quickly in the cockpit view. when i zoom in and out using the mouse scroll button it seems alot slower. Is there a setting to accelerate the zoom or a set of keyboard key combinations?
Just create custom camera views. They're a life saver.
Not sure, I think my mousewheel is set to the axis so you could check that. I haven't changed the defaults
