    I know some people online have mentioned that they are running 17" wheels which I really would like to get a hold of. They came on the earlier years. I am running 265/65/18 which is a 31.5" tire.

      I would imagine a 17" wheel would cause problems with the brakes. The Sport/Platinum have larger brakes so maybe they on the lower trims?
      You don't have or never had any rubbing with that size?

      @@blacktalonsport1262 I’m not sure, saw it on a forum. The base model used to come with 17” steel wheels so I think they fit all but sport and platinum.

    I wanted to share what I was able to fit with minor scrubbing, last week I installed 275/55R20 Nitto Ridge grapplers on stock rims. I don’t have any wheel spacers.
    I’ve previously installed the traxda lift front and rear and Bilstein B6 struts and shocks.
    I did have to massage the splash guard and trim the body mount washers. The look is perfect and not overly aggressive.

    • @blacktalonsport1262
      @blacktalonsport1262  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! How much do your tires "poke" out from the wheel well? Yes 55 series will require trimming/cutting. If you had done 50's then no need to cut anything. You don't mind the rear wheel being much closer to the body? (Space between the front of the tire and the door)

    • @blacktalonsport1262
      @blacktalonsport1262  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're going to stick with a "taller" tire like 275/55/r20 then you should also get all the cutting done. Even after you make the cuts it will only rub when locked left. To now answer you original question: No a spacer will not help. A spacer will push the tire away from the body but does nothing for the height of the tire.
      Any tire that is shorter than 31" (don't go over 30" for the overall diameter) will not rub at all. So that's why I went with 265/50/r20

    So wanted to point out a few things you either missed or was incorrect about:
    1) Center Bore: yes, it's 63.4mm but it is possible to use wheels that don't have that center bore. Only caveat is...it has to be larger. And then hub centering rings will be required. They are easy enough to get and are cheap. Most online wheel retailers will provide them for free when you purchase wheels through them.
    2) Offset: your range of offsets is incorrect, it is possible to go further. I personally run a set of 20x11 with a 15mm offset with no issues. That "flush" look you're talking about is really going to be dependant on wheel width AND offset. When I had 20x10, I had a 25mm offset and THAT was flush.

    • @blacktalonsport1262
      @blacktalonsport1262  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For your 1st point...keep in mind the shop (Rampage Autosports) that did my "lift" also did my wheel Fitment. We knew we'd be using Spacers (they're custom) so we wouldn't have a need for center rings because the wheels bolt directly to the spacers and the spacers to the hub...after cutting the stock studs to fit. I don't argue with wheel shops about what fits.
      Point 2 if I recall you have Hella "poke" plus that 295/45R20 +45 was Hella flush (I saw multiple photos) it could be as simple as a different set of wheels or we might have to agree to disagree 🤷🏾‍♂️

    • @4TheWorkshop
      @4TheWorkshop 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blacktalonsport1262 yeah, I was using 1" hubcentric spacers when I had stock wheels from Motorsport-Tech, best place to get spacers, no need to cut to cut studs, I never did. And when I had the 295/45 tires, they were never +45, they were +25 and were "flush". Check my photos....
      My current setup does have a deep dish look and they do stick out...I was making the point that more sizes can fit. I'm probably the most familiar with this platform, and have one of the most highly modified Gen5s. I don't see you on the forums or any of the FB pages, you'd get quite a bit more info there and we'd love to see you. Feel free to follow my blog if you'd like to learn more about this platform. I don't recommend non sport springs (I'm not talking about the struts) to get that 1" back. That could be the "easy fix" your looking for. You just have to look for the tire diameter VS stock diameter. I hope this clears up the confusion.
