I'm Australian so NFL was foreign to me but once I heard The Autumn Wind & learnt the rich history of the Raiders I knew this was the team for me.
@Lobo Lex I have a Tim Brown jersey :)
@@theredpilllion5922 RNFL , really disappointing season, but we have gone through worse. Trust the plan, I truly believe we will contend for a championship in the next three years. Have faith!!!
Also repping raiders in Australia. Toughest team around
@@CarterHayes77 that’s so cool man I love the raiders too glad to hear a raider fan over seas hope you can watch a live game here in usa one day Tim browns a beast!
That's a great tribute to an NFL team with a proud heritage and greatness. Unfortunately for over 15 years now that heritage has become obscured and tarnished. If there was only some way todays players could begin to appreciate how great they really were and strive to bring that PRIDE back to a floundering franchise now in UGH Las Vegas of all places.
I own this dvd and watch it every year before the season starts
😂Lol time to dust it off and put in the dvd 📀 player again. I never get tired of legendary narrator John Facenda saying “The Autumn 🍂 Wind 🌬 is a Raider🦾☠️🏈”

Hell Yeahhh Same lol 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Real raider shit
Ok so my Raiders story is that as a child I just loved the colors and the logo, as I got older into my teens I realized just how awesome thier story and history was and it sold me forever as a fan...a Raiders fan from Huntsville Alabama. When I go to Las Vegas it will not be to hit the slots...but to see a Raiders home game. RNFL. 👍
I would love it but I ain't wearing a mask nor getting a jab.
I moved to Vegas and then some years later my Raiders joined me. The stadium looks amazing in person
@@fireballxl-5748My stepdad listens to right wing propaganda pod casts and the hosts are always making up some whacky stories and never mention any scientific facts. "The government is putting Bud Light in the Covid shots, blah, blah. By the way, were having a 10% sale this week on our unnecessary vitamins and electrolyte drops.
Very Cool stories! Stay LOYAL & NEVER Walk the Plank and jump ship fellow RaidahhhZ!! We Are and Will Always Be The BEST NFL Franchise!!
As a lifelong Cowboy fan and a 54-year-old man, when I hear Autumn Wind and listen to Facenda and see the great Raiders teams of the 70's...if that doesn't give you chills you just don't like real football. The '70s were the greatest era ever when it comes to the NFL. Several teams had dynasty talent in the Steelers, Cowboys, Dolphins, Raiders, Vikings etc. and it seemed that the games were always hard-hitting bloodbaths no matter what teams were playing, but those Raider squads with Tatum and company were brutal. If my Cowboys were out I always cheered for the Raiders or Vikings back then...ANYONE BUT THE STEELERS LOL. Still, much respect to all those teams including the great Steeler teams..what a decade!!!
Wouldn't a Raiders v. Cowboys Superbowl just be the pinnacle of awesome for the NFL?
It was the best!
I hear ya man. I became a Raiders fan as a little kid in 1965. And I remember those Cowboys teams. We were all about speed. I remember Bullet Bob Hayes. Staubach and all those great teams. We grew up in the BEST era. No doubt.
@@jaggedstarrPI yes it would we have to wait for this thanks giving 2021
@@ChefClary60 I grew up A Raiders fan starting in 1980, then went back and watched and read everything from the 1960's on that I could find. Those 70's Raiders teams were special for sure. I wish I would have seen them live.
Oakland center Jim Otto (6:44)- during his NFL career, had nearly 74 operations, including 28 on his knee (nine of them during his playing career) and multiple joint replacements. His joints became riddled with arthritis, and he developed debilitating back and neck problems. At one point he fought off three life-threatening infections due to complications from his artificial joints. At one point he was without a right knee joint because he had to wait for an infection to heal before another artificial knee could be implanted. Otto eventually had to have his right leg amputated in 2007
Forever the Oakland Raiders, forever Al Davis and John Madden’s team. RIP Coach. 🕊

The Raiders have to have the greatest theme song in NFL history!! "The Autumn Wind is a Raider!"
The Raiders' theme isThe Michigan Wolverines of pro football & drafted or signed by The Raiders from Michigan ( Charles Woodson, Tyrone Wheatley, Des Bryan) U really get 2 enjoy the fight songs 🎵 of both college & professional programs. Upon being introduced by the president's theme , President Gerald Ford had the 🎺 band 🎻 play The Michigan's theme instead the school he to college at.

Seemed like the Raiders were a Super Bowl contender almost every year from about 1967 until about 1990 or so. I'm a Bills fan but I always was rooting for the Raiders whenever they met Pittsburgh in the 70s. Always hated the Steelers
You have to admit though that Chuck Knoll was a brilliant coach. I always so damn frustrated that the Raiders and the Cowboys never met in a Super Bowl...always wanted to see the Raiders do a number on Dallas in the big game.
Hate them or not --6 Super Bowls. Steeler Nation ….
Marcus Allen, ran like O. J., but played like Walter Payton, that's a pretty lethal combo.
Exactly, without the slicing and stabbing.
If Bo Jackson didn't get hurt he could have been the greatest Raider running back of all time.

Gruden should show THIS film to anyone coming in to play for the #RAIDERS
DITTO that!
He can't don't work no more
Never liked Gruden.....he destroyed the Raiders that they couldn't win against the Bucs in the SB. He changed the game plan only 2 weeks before the event. You NEVER change the ENTIRE game plan 2 weeks before the game. Takes too much time to remember and people forget. Gruden caved to the "powers" while Al Davis would stick his thumb in their eye.
@@fireballxl-5748This post makes zero sense.
Gruden was the HC of the Bucs in the SB.
Callahan was the Raiders HC and he changed the game plan on the last day of practice. But worse than that, the Raiders didn't change their audible calls or anything after Gruden was traded to the Bucs. Gruden and the Bucs Defense knew everything the Raiders were doing.
@@fireballxl-5748"Gruden caved to the powers while Davis thumbed them in the eye"
Davis, as owner, would have more power than Gruden or any HC. But who did Gruden cave to?

I love the Raiders now matter what record they get every year I’m always going to be loyal
I'm a Giants fan but, when I was a kid growing up, I always admired the Raiders. I don't believe in "second favorite teams", but I'd root for the Raiders against everyone but my Giants. Always appreciated them kicking the shit outta the Redskins (who I hated more than anyone) in Super Bowl XVIII.
Wasn't the score like 45-10? Stupid Washington Football Team Commanders!
As a Giants fan myself, I enjoyed watching them, beat the stinkin Eagles, years ago in the SB, when they won it as a wild card team.
They've always been my favorite AFC team
Good game today hope Daniel Jones is ok
Somebody explain to me why Jim Plunkett isn't in the HOF. In addition to winning the Heisman trophy he was NFL rookie of the year. Two time Super Bowl champion including a Super Bowl MVP.
They waited until he passed away to honor Ken Stabler with the HOF.....don't repeat this terrible injustice with Jim Plunkett
@@tomdolan9761 don’t forget cliff branch RIP
@@sebastianvillarreal8505 Agreed. All of the guys mentioned made big plays,in big games, in the era that made the NFL what it is.
What bothers me is the hypocrisy and inconsistency of the voters. Lynn Swann, deservedly in the HOF IMO, didnt have great stats in the regular season, but was in because of his great play in the playoffs. Cliff Branch's stats are better in the regular season, and he had some GREAT playoff stats in a run first era of football.
Its BS. Get these guys in.
Simple reason. Plunkett was a Raider.
Hispanic racism
Heartbreaking to see a team with a tradition like this become what it has become ... a .500 team, feared by nobody. Today's Raiders don't deserve the team and the history they have. Please bring the Raiders back.
Im 29 years old and every time i watch this , it gives me goose bumps. To me , yea it sucks what its been since i was 11. But im still damn Proud to be a Raider fan. Ill never put that Pride away.

Coach Tom Flores is FINALLY going to the Hall of Fame Congratulations coach👏👏! Peter King must be dead or something!! Word has it he's 1 of the reasons Coach didn't make it in decades until now which I grew 2 dislike for denying such a deserving person
Great video! Thanks for sharing. I’m a Chicago Bears 🐻 fan, but I started liking the Raiders when I was a kid, when my favorite Raider, Bo Jackson, played for the Raiders. I was a huge Bo fan….I guess you could say the Raiders are my second favorite team.
Much love and respect to my Raiders all the way from Palau Micronesia 🇵🇼🇺🇲🏴☠️🏈💯🖤✌️
In the early years, the Raiders almost folded due to poor fan interest and Al Davis accepted a loan from Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson to keep the team afloat. The story goes that during the off-seasons in their first few years Raider players would go door to door in Oakland/Richmond etc trying to sell game tickets/season tickets to individual households
Oakland has never been a great sports city.
@@thegreenbird795
But they have had them all...
Raiders, A's, Warriors, Seals, Stompers, Invaders.
Wasnt a loan to Davis. The loan happened after the 1960 season. Davis was employees by the Chargers.
Davis was hired by the Raiders in 1963 as HC and GM.
Loved the Raider Mystique as a kid, my mom was a OSU alum and gave me the Jack Tatum bio "They call me Assassin" when I was 9 or 10. Tatum and Lester Hayes to this day are two of my favorite players ever. Numerous Raiders deserve to be in the HOF.
The Raiders and the Chiefs had the best rivalry of the old AFL.
They still do have the best rivalry even though the Chiefs have had their way the last few years. It's like watching the Hatfields and McCoys play football. The 2 teams REALLY hate each other. The other rivalry is the Raiders/Steelers rivalry.
Raider Nation 4 Life. 🏴☠️☠️
U see that game today
Kinda crazy that Al Davis designed the franchise from the ground up from the unis to the offensive and defensive philosophy.
The only other franchise that did that was Paul Brown and the original Cleveland Browns.
As a little girl my mom got me into the Raiders. She's passed away now so, seeing them play always brings me back to a time when "Mother-Daughter Time" meant Raiders football. As a grown woman I love that they have become a part of Chicano culture; plus I'm a gothic girl so the black fits my vibe perfectly. The Raiders will always be my team win or lose and no matter where they are based out of.
The logo is just part of their look, just like those weird Catholic necklaces the cholos wear. They know nothing about the team and can't name a single player.
@@lobotomyscam1051 Okay? I don't have to prove that I know all about Raiders history, Ken Stabler, Tom Flores, etc., or recount watching Rich Gannon lead them to a superbowl when I was 12, or anything else. I get that men don't think women know anything about Football or sports in general.
Oakland Raiders!!! They've done it all!!!
💯 Absolutely FACT!
I love the Raiders!!!
The first game I'd ever watched as a little boy was a Raider game! And I'm still a Raider today and would agree!
Thank you for this masterpiece.
Alright who screwed up super bowl 11 final score ? The final score was 32 14 Oakland NOT 24 7
But I’m a raider fan 24 seven
@Sam HainBoth are there. The ring has the SB 11 score Raiders 32 Vikings 14. Below that it has the AFCC score Raiders 24 Steelers 7. On the other side of the ring , the logo has the patch over the wrong eye.
Marcus Allen was Smooth & Stern!! A defense could Never hit him straight up because he had a "sideway" type of running style which pro longed his.career even further
ive watched so many raider videos that im using some of the quotes and things said in my letter of intent college essay haha, wish me luck!

In honor of the late Al Davis, The Raider on the helmet logo should be re-made in his image.
Al wouldn't want that.
Baltimore Colts and The Raiders, for me the Raiders and Steelers, in the 70's, was such a great rivalry.

Every time I watch this video I get fired up. In the intro it shows several players that are only identified by their numbers. What's it mean when I can put a name to every one of those guys? I've known Lester Hayes since Coach Madden introduced us in 1971(?). I took my grandson to meet him and my boy bragged that I was his coach. Lester being Lester called me coach. The next practice he runs up to the huddle and announces, "Lester Hayes calls my poppa Coach!". I didn't know if I should melt into the turf or stick my chest out until the boys decided for me that I must be a god of football, which of course I'm not even on the same field as Coaches Madden, Lombardi, etc. but you can't buy a moment like that. Thanks Lester, you made me a hero!
Sure wish that team would show up once in a while.
Condolences to the Lamonica family. Rip raider great Daryle Lamonica
Raiders had so many crazy plays...totally forgot about the '77 Fumble No Call.
I don't know what is most important game in Raiders franchise history. But I've come to the conclusion that "The 1974 Sea of Hands Game" against The Mighty Dolphins inspired the most people to become Raiders fans.
I am from Ohio. The reason I am a Raiders fan is that my family didn't follow football, but we went to a Super Bowl party at my Uncle's house. He explained the game to me. It was Raiders vs Vikings. Why pick the Raiders? What 7 year old doesn't like pirates?
I've been living in south florida, for over forty years, and though i'm not a dolphins fan, can tell you I know of many people down here, who've never gotten over that loss. I'd always felt, with the constant lead changes throughout, it was the greatest playoff game ever. RIP John Madden, Don Shula, & all the former players
@@4736dmr I USE to think "The Sea of Hands Game" was the Greatest sporting event I ever saw. Until 45 years later when I saw NFL films Hour long special on the game. It shows a replay of Cliff Branch trapping that Epic bomb thrown to him by Stabler. I guess the Network missed it, because had I known, my buddies and I would've talked about it for years. I wish I never found out about it. I never did replace it with another favorite Alltime game.
My mom bought my dad this doc i think for his first fathers day and we continue to own it to this day
You gotta love Phil Villiapano
The rules in 1968 were ridiculous--the Raiders had a 12-2 record and the Jets an 11-3 record (and Oakland had also defeated the Jets in the "Heidi" game) and yet the Jets got to host the AFL title game--the league had alternated the championship game between the East and West and it just happened to be the East turn to hold it (despite the fact the Raiders had the better record)

30:40 Something wrong with accuracy. Final in Super Bowl was Raiders 32 - Vikings 14. I remember that game....ALL OF IT....like it was yesterday.
I grew up in the east Bay. Geeze I remember listening to many blanda games. I had 25 and 83 as my heros. My uncle had tickets so got to go to a game a year. The immaculate reception....I was listening to the game when Pat Summers l said the old SLIP Madigan play....slip was my grandfather. Thanks this brought back memories.
Been a Raider fan all my 34 years. My mom was born next to Oakland. And my dad was a 9ers fan. Who knows why I chose my moms team. But I've never looked back. The heartbreak is ok when you know how dominant this team was. RAIDER NATION for life

I starting TEARING up IMMEDIATELY and I'm not a cryer.
Where the shield goes I go. RAIDERS 2 DA DEATH
Yep
Wherever the sails take us, wherever the wind moves us - to whatever glory or curse may befall us.
@3:05 Daryle Lamonica to Warren Wells. Later, the "Immaculate Reception" was decided on whether the refs could exit the Pittsburgh stadium without being mobbed by upset Steeler fans....not on the legality of the play....which was illegal, and the refs knew it. The 1974 AFC Playoff game between Oakland and Miami was a classic. The Denver fumble was a fumble and everyone saw it. Many, many times were the Raiders cheated out of victories by the "powers that be". Yes, it was done purposely. Rich boy owners and their buddies fixed many games and/or attempted to fix them. Which is why the Raiders were hated. They didn't play the "game" with the other teams/owners and often won when they weren't supposed to win....hence the Raider mystique.
Let me sum it up for all yall no need to watch the video

They did change, but in the very early, early 60's

Dad and I had season tickets from ‘69 until they moved to L.A.
Teams absolutely HATED coming to play the Raiders in the Coliseum. Not only were the fans the equivalent of a 12th man, but it really didn’t matter what the scoreboard said, as well. The Raiders would beat the dog piss outta the opposing team on the field. Win or lose, they were battered and bruised in the locker room after the game.
Those were glorious days….
Much respect for the Raiders
Great vid, but a big error relates to the 1969 season......yes, this was John Madden’s first as Head Coach, and it was the last year of the AFL......the Raiders beat KC twice during the reg season, but lost 17-7 at home in the final AFL Championship Game (see awesome youtube video of this game, titled « The Final Showdown »).
It was actually the NEXT season 1970, first year of the merger, where George Blanda had his remarkable string of games were he led Raider comebacks, working miracles as both their Kicker and backup QB.......again, this occurred in Madden’s second season, 1970, not his first as stated in the video.
As a lifelong 49er's fan, the biggest compliment I can give is: " I hate the Raiders. But I respect them as well."
I been a raider fan since 1998

We had a lot of talent over the years one person who I did not see on there was Charles Woodson Highlights or impact
At the 5:35 mark in this video Wayne Valley was in debt and Ralph Wilson loaned the Raiders $400,000 but Al Davis became the new owner and GM. They left out the best part.
I hope they come back!
Thank goodness for Lamar Hunt, Al Davis and all the AFL players and personnel!
They mention thàt the Raiders were the last team to join the AFL.A group in Minasota had AFL rights, but opted instead for an NFL team in 1961.The Chargers said they wouldn't join the AFL without another team on the west coast. So the Minasota franchise was moved to Oakland California for the start of play in the AFL in 1960.
Could someone show this to Mark Davis.
Someone needs to force him to watch it . Tie him to a chair 🪑 and let him watch over and over again until he realizes how stupid he is and his haircut. Maybe he'll get some clarity .
The Raiders were never intended to be an AFL franchise, they were added in at the last minute when Minnesota backed out of the league to take the offer from the NFL. To replace Minnesota, Baron Hilton of the Chargers demanded another team be placed in California or he'd withdraw.
Al Davis, while commissioner of the AFL, never pushed for a merger. He wanted to bury the rival league.
