As an older trans woman, i can't express how much this means to a very long-time 40k player. I loved cracking open that old rogue trader book and the box of 30 plastic minis.
When I first started the Warhammer 40k hobby, I made my Blood Angels gold with rainbow-colored wings after the Mesoamerican lore of the Quetzalcoatl mythical creature. I got made fun of endlessly for making the “gay marines” and they would always say “Spaaaaaaayth Marines” to me when I fielded them. They did it so much that eventually I ended up stripping all my models and went with Angels Sanguine colors instead. I really wish I had kept it especially now that I’m out as Pansexual. Screw bigots. Happy Pride, everyone! Be proud of who you are, even if people are immature jerks!

I haven't seen such discrimination (though I only joined the previous month.) but I know how it hurts a person. your "gay marines" had nothing wrong with them. And I hope your newer blood angels can carry on where those brave soldiers started. You should be proud of your work. It's what you deserve. You deserve to be loved and respected. Not to be given such disrespect. I respect you, friend. When I make my Pan Marines, I'll see if I can make one in your first soldier's honour. Good luck with painting!

@Bob I’m enjoying the hobby but you seem to be busy spending your time complaining about how other people enjoy it rather than having fun yourself. Get a life.
Hi Brent, great work. Not sure if you'll ever see this, as it's an old vid. Nevertheless, love the positivity and environment of nurturing support that community members like you, Guy, Eric and Trent (to name just a selection) have shaped - not to mention oodles of inspiring creative talent. Now I might just be a little bitch but I'm gonna be honest your speech about The Trevor Project made me tear up a bit. It's nice to see a creator I've enjoyed for a long time supporting such a good cause.
Good work Brent, I think the best bit for me was not the video but remembering your stream when you were placing all the flowers on the float. I think you having so much fun was awesome to tune in on, hope the donations go well!.
Appreciate the inclusion of the Bi flag! While I don't participate, myself, in many pride related events it is always nice to see it included. We are often left by the wayside. Hey Brent! I've just got into painting minis, and was directed to your channel, and I just wanted to say I really appreciate your videos, for many reasons, first of all you're just very positive, and encouraging about painting, but on a slightly different level there are a few smaller things I appreciate, as it seems from your videos that you're left-handed,so it's cool to learn from a fellow lefty , and it's also really exciting that you have your PhD, I was pretty excited when I saw that as I am going to start year one of my PhD program next fall, so it's encouraging to see someone with some similarities doing cool and exciting things.
Some of the comments making me sick. Imagine think painting a toy in the colours of gay pride is the end of the hobbying world when it is a bit of fun for a good cause. Imagine just straight up not enjoying it because you have a prejudice against people who are living their own lives. Love is love.
I can't see any comments (guessing they get deleted) but I do see that from time to time, I THINK they are reacting to what they believe is a hostile take over from the likes of r/sigmarxism. This hobby is a shared one. LGBTQ+ people are more than welcome and those that are here and don't feel comfortable to be themselves, I'm sorry, I love you and the world is better for having you in it.
You are my biggest inspiration as of late, both in lifestyle and art. It makes me very happy to see you posting a video like this. I hope this video gets plenty of love.
Very beautiful. He will stand proudly together with my Ultrans marines ❤️ I wish i could send you pictures of my Ultrans marines army..
That sounds amazing!
I’m doing some trans marines as well!
@Bob I’m enjoying the hobby but you seem to be busy spending your time complaining about how other people enjoy it rather than having fun yourself. Get a life.
You could say their primaris have "Transexual Physiology" lol.
@Bob lmao you need some therapy my g. Such a sad life.
I'm in my second bloom of Warhammer love (indoctrinating my 12 year old son), having been an original Rogue Trader/Space Hulk/Epic Space Marine boy in the 80s/early 90s. Don't stop doing you; you have a subscriber for life. Cheers.
Not gonna lie, the start of the float section was a bit of an "oh god": props on sticking it out and adding enough dried flowers to make it look good!
hehehehe
I agree, it seemed rather off-putting but it soon showed it's true colours. It really is an art, the final product is the best
Now I might just be a little bitch but I'm gonna be honest your speech about The Trevor Project made me tear up a bit. It's nice to see a creator I've enjoyed for a long time supporting such a good cause.
My son is Transgender and we heartily approve of this video. Thank you

Thank you, Goobs. You will always have my support. And that marine looks fantastic!
Love your channel Brent, it's been fun watching your viewership nearly skyrocket over the past while. Loving the podcast as well!
You are truly a wonderful person, and a great role model of how to be a good ally to our friends. I look forward to the day where anyone can be who they are comfortably and without facing bigotry and hatred, until that day comes, I will happily support projects like this as best I can!
Superlative work as always, and for a great cause! Thank you so much for being such a dynamo of positivity in this community
Great video for a great cause! Thank you for supporting! Contribution gladly made.
Wonderful, thank you!! :-)
As someone who's been slowly attempting to get back into the hobby, this channel won me over
You're really talented and sound like a great person
Amazing job, I'm not a part of the LGBTQ+ community but support for them is of great importance. Thank you for this awesome model.
Thank you! It really feels good to know that people in your hobby community are supportive
It not only looks amazing but you've motivated me to both donate and (attempt...) to make my own fabulous marine! I do kinda wish you kept the float looking more uhhh rhino-ish though buuuut thats just me!
WOO! dont forget to use the #fabulousmarines2021 so we can share it!
Nice!!!, Thank You :-)
Throw out some rainbows and the people will throw money at you. smh
I know your community will have a lot of positivity and TH-cam in general will have a lot of hate in general, but my wife and I are proud to have participated alongside you and everyone painting Fabulous Marines this month!
I was not expecting a reference to techno viking lol
nobody expects technoviking!
Fun fact about Technoviking - he's, fittingly enough, gay!
@@TheVeeBeaT That comes from a fake interview by Waterford Whispers News where a guy called Günther Ackerman claimed to be Techno Viking and also married to the guy he scares off in the original video. His real identity, and sexual preferences, are still unknown to the public.
Thank you Goobertown. For a hobby that is not often very welcoming. It's great to know we got you friend.
You did a good thing. Ignore the sticks in the mud. Supporting suicide prevention is always a good thing to do - I say nuts to people who find ways to argue against that. You rock, Brent!
Scuicide prevention is pog champ
Thank you so much for being a part of this project and helping out. You are a wonderful part of this community. Artemis turned out great! 💜 💚
Thanks! Great work again on the beautiful logo :-)
As a trans (specifically non-binary) person this makes me absurdly happy. Always good to know who's an ally, too. Also Artemis is trans now, there is no escape.
This is simply amazing work, thank you so much for bringing such positive energy and thoughts into this 🌸
Fabulous Marines should become a thing (again). There's way to few rainbows in this universe. If someone would make a custom #FabChap i would be seriously tempted to get marines and l2p 40k^^

This isn't even controversial, there's just a small horde of shitty bros in the hobby that are addicted to being assholes. I love seeing Inquisitor stuff getting highlighted, and in a really cool way!
Also, I'm a bit late this year but excited to do this next Pride for sure, hopefully I can grab a marine as well.

Speaking as a grumpy old curmugeon, this is totally fab.
Brent, you're such an awesome person. Thanks for all the positivity and good vibes.
This video made my month alot better thank you Brent
Love this project so much! Also glad I'm not the only one who struggles with gluing pet hair and flowers to my fingers. 🏳️🌈
This is WONDERFUL, so glad to see people at the forefront of hobby communities be so inclusive and so supportive. It means a lot.
Much love ❤️❤️❤️
Love on you Mayor of Goobertown

Never thought I'd hear Brent say "double fisting" lol
Spread the love, not the hate.
My cousin is homosexual and my grandpa was really against it. It took him some 5 years to get over it and talk to her again. Now they regularly chat. Sexual orientation means nothing - love is love. I can not for the life of me understand why some people got problems with this... But I hope this small example shows that there is some hope for everyone. As Brent mentioned, hopefully the hater trolls can grow up to be normal functioning humans...
Nice job on the paint, Brant :) Lovely model :)
Nice story :)
You've gotta realise that there are trolls on both sides that's why things get so heated and political r/sigmarxism makes its mission to infiltrate the hobby. It would be nice with just the 95% of people who aren't extreme right/left.
@@grotoiler6104 We're not on reddit dude... r/sigmarxism has nothing to do with anything here... also comparing the far right and far left tells quite allot about the level of privilege you're enjoying.
@@nerdaitami7205 lmfao somebody actually using privilege unironically.
Sit down clown.
@@pinoarias8601 do you have any actual arguments other than straight dismissal? Do you really think that there is no such thing as privilege and a CEO has it just as hard as a factory worker or that black people don't face discrimination that negatively impacts their material well being? Have you ever heard of some kid being kicked out the house for being straight?
@@nerdaitami7205 it's relevant because they actively infiltrate and provoke outside of just reddit.
Lol Modern use of "Privilege" is an imagenary measuring stick which is more to do with the circumstances of perceived benefits at birth and completely uncontrollable , and has nothing to do with this
Well said. The paints and the models look fantastic, but I'm really glad you're making your channel a safe space for people. Inclusivity is a wonderful thing, and the LGBTQIA community has been through so much s*** and it's really heartwarming to see creators open the door to warhammer 40k for those groups if they just wana stay and chill on your channel while painting their own models.
Love over hate man
They haven't been through anyone. Must be real hard to call everyone a bigot all the time.
It is really hard to identify as whatever new bullshit you make up because of stupid science and reasoning
The LGBTQRSTUV+++- community hasn’t been through anything for decades kid…. You’re not being hunted and lynched. It must be tiring to constantly play victim.
I honestly thought the rainbow theme would look gaudy when you were painting the laurels on the head, but it all really came together really well by the end.
Thanks! It's easy to go overboard with too many colors, but that laurel wreath is just the perfect amount of accent color :-)
That blue armor is gorgeous I usually hate the color blue but wow that's pretty, congrats you got a red fanboy to like blue for once
Hobbiests come from all walks of life and for us to enjoy the hobby TOGETHER we have to be vigilant of provocateurs from all corners and never take bait from trolls ;)
@@grotoiler6104 What does r/sigmarxism have to do with anything? Does Brent post there?
@@nerdaitami7205 No, this is is just someone bringing Reddit drama over here to the TH-cam comments.
