- Just before 2am Liberty County Sheriff's Office received a call of an 18-wheeler that crashed on SH 99 southbound at Community Drive. Reports were the truck was fully involved in fire. Plum Grove Fire arrived on the scene to just a small fire which was quickly extinguished. An 18-wheeler carrying an Amazon shipment hit the gore point between the exit ramp of Community and the main lanes. The truck then jumped the 4-foot wall and landed between it. Over 50 gallons of oil, and fluids were dumped on the ground along with close to 200 gallons of diesel fuel. The driver suffered a bump to the head and was transported to Kingwood Hospital. He was walking around when the units arrived. HAZMAT International is on the scene starting the massive cleanup. The truck's axles, engine, and transmission were ripped away in the crash.
From the look of the truck cab, to only have a bump on the head he must have had an angel on his trip with him. Thanks, Scott
Yes, the angel told him to do up his seatbelt...tight!
I bet the driver was knocked out of their flip flops on that hit
Jeez! The force it took to do this much damage!
Should also prove a point not to cut off any rigs. lol.
As long as the driver is ok ,that’s all that matters!!! All material items can be replaced!!!
A bump on the head??? Damn lucky!
really looks like he hit a anti-tank mine the way the underside of that truck got shredded!
Amazon has many amateur Driver's, very dangerous fleet !!!
Contractor, not an Amazon driver.
That's a foreigner owned company Extremely Dangerous Drivers. NOT AMAZON DRIVER. LEAS TRUCK.
I think that is my Air Purifier order.
Never knew it was called a “gore point” but it sure lived up to it’s name!
Time to rename these barriers to “truck splitters”
The most dangerous trucks on the road
Wondering why my package is late.
I'm guessing he fell asleep, and because his body was relaxed, he was able to walk away with just a bump on his head. Or he is one luck SOB. The sad part, he'll probably get fired. Glad he was able to walk away and live another day.
A dismissal would be (ahem) a _wake up call_ to find a better career. 😏
I'm glad the driver wasn't seriously injured. That he only received on a bump on the head almost shouts out that he was either sleeping, drinking alcohol, or looking for (or at) his phone.
He must have been flying!!
Someone's AMAZON package is going to be late.
This gore point slid back 8' feet on its rail,,,...hard hit,but worked,...did what it was designed to do,.....,,this vehicle was traveling high rate,,full trailer,........end result,...driver lived.
That's what electronic logs do trying to beat time
That's one way to clean off the undercarriage quickly, wow the damage!
holy crap that's alot of damage! that's gonna be a big cleanup!
Concrete sure is strong. See how easily it woke him up from his nap and destroyed his truck?
We have concrete evidence that's true.
FMCSA and DOT should be looking into Amazon freight, lot of their trucks having accidents everywhere. They think anybody can do this job. NOT!!!!
The truck is a private contractor they do not work for Amazon. The trailer belongs to Amazon, see the name on it.
@@joycedudzinski9415 they are the ones who contract them. They are not all contract, company owns a lot of them
An Amazon Contractor. Amazon is responsible for anyone pulling there trailers. I see a lot of crazy driving with Amazon on the trailer !!!
@@bretyoung1869that’s not how it works. He’s not an amazon contractor. Notice the DOT # on the truck? He has zero to do with Amazon other than a trip agreement. That’s how they get away with it.
They’ll get paid off to ignore the issues
Walking miracle is what the driver is.
You gotta put that attention addiction device down every once and a while.
My O/O friend with 3 trucks was considering pulling Amazon trailers until he read the driver's forum. Very punitive terms if you're late. Nope, Bozos has enough $ without truck drivers being treated like slaves..
Bezos only owns 10% of the company anymore. He stepped down.
I drive for Amazon. yes you are correct! I got wrote up for not taking my lunch within 5 hrs of clocking in! I got caught in a traffic jam but they didn't care. problem is the people running the Transportation dept sit in a cubicle in Seattle, and none of them have a CDL!
Everyone involved in that outfit are slaves.
@@hirisk761 In my dozen years of trucking, I've realized there's a wide gulf between the office and drivers on the road. Dispatch has no clue, all they want to do is push the driver and have no problem with the driver doing the impossible (illegal) until the driver is stopped and then they are on their own. I don't regret my time in trucking, but I'm glad I'm retired and out. Stay safe out there!
@telcobilly thanks I appreciate that! Amazon does have it's warts but they're not the worst I've driven for. Florilli tried to control everything! where you drove, where you could fuel, how much fuel you could put in! if you went out of route by a small percentage, you'd get a nasty-gram for "excessive fuel use"!
Glad I don't run cross country any more, people don't pay attention to what there doing and no respect for others
Amazon's the new Swift. 😢😮
😆😅😄😂
Dam ! What did it hit. Whew a sweet angel was with him
Their EV delivery trucks are a danger as well. I have encountered two of them over the last several months stuck in the middle of traffic creating an obstacle.
The second one was on a rural road just yesterday as I came up over a hillcrest there it was stopped in right in the middle of the road. BAM! Is all I could think with that behemoth stalled right there in such a precarious spot.
At first glance I thought it was wrecked as I noticed a panel on the drivers side, just above the undercarriage was open.
During my 2 years truckn I......... I mean...... I......... I'm just speechless as I didn't even know a truck could come apart like this 😧.... I get chills every time I see anything like it. It's always best to pull over if too tired for any reason or to just miss the exit even if it could set ya an hour back. Situations like this I'm sure why some tv's and such may arrive broken...... hard to believe just a bump on the head..... I mean the engine and most/all heavy mechanical parts violently ripped out and even a fire and everything. Luck at it's finest.
I think that was the most unreal accident.I think i've ever seen
We used to carry loads to 48 states and on dedicated runs and other drivers used to jump in front of us on purpose so they can try to get a quick payout, 🙏🏾 for drivers.
I hope that driver is ok.
Appears as though some of those "guaranteed delivery by" shipments won't be making it on time.
Uninstalled the engine, AND destroyed the transmission. Now that's what i call am impressive crash.
Extremely lucky he was in a rig and not a passenger car.
Amazon treats their workers like 💩
This appears to be a contractor pulling an Amazon trailer. He’s not an Amazon employee, just like all of the Amazon vehicles running around & delivering items. That way, Amazon avoids the responsibility of what happens between the warehouse & home.
@@jamessimms415 However Amazon IS liable for contract terms unfairly penalizing the contractor for late deliveries.
They aren't employed by Amazon. It's another company pulling their loads
@@flyingjew2994 I don't care. I'm talking about Amazon employees.
@@j.t.cooper2963 They're fine
Hey dude, you can't park there.
😅😆😅😄😂
Big problem with amazon. They dont care what kind of contractor they hire.
What did he hit holy hell
Oh the concrete wall
He hit holy hell. But because it was holy, he walked away blessedly unscathed. 🙏😇😏
No flexible impact barriers at those points? (It looks if there were, tore it completely out)
from 3:14 to about 3:35 you can clearly see the crash barrels, there was probably a sign that was taken out by the truck.
inward facing dash cam should tell the story, sleeping, watching a movie, texting? Immigrant?
All of the above???
Damn Damn I bet the mattress in the sleeper is probably broken to.
Boy Amazon is giving Swift a run for their money. And for those a few that don’t know Amazon will let anybody pull their trailers and I mean anybody example number one here.
AMAzing Zoomers On (the) Nod? 🤔
Is that what is known as SPLITTING THE RAILS ? Boom !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad driver is okay. Curious in cases like this would Amazon be billed for the massive environmental clean up fee (+ fine ) or does that come from the state's budget?
Amazon has no responsibility at all, they contracted with Samawa to provide safe delivery of their trailer, of which they failed. Samawa is who will pay for the clean up, and also for the items in the trailer, and the for replacing the trailer itself. Consider it like this, if you hired a tow truck to take your car to the garage for repairs, and the tow company was involved in an accident, it would be the tow companies fault, not yours.
If this was a cabover, the driver would be gone. And people wonder why cabovers aren't as commonly used as they were in the past in the states.
Possibly the driver fell asleep at the wheel?! Driving way too fast?!
Don't forget FedEx, they're just as bad and they can't find their ass with both hands 😅
Sleepy, sleepy.
Is that the best you can come up with?
45 seconds in? at least we know? the truck wasn't a automatic transmission. 1 minute 45 seconds in? Defintely!!
Was it an Illegal driving it. And I am sure they will send this broken stuff to the people.
With so many delivery trucks on the road, Amazon has to be paying a fortune for vehicle insurance.
Doubt Amazon is paying insurance, it’s on the contractor/owner operator
Ouch 💸
I'm willing to bet, that this driver fell asleep behind the wheel, this is the number one cause of big ring accident in the US, driver fatigued.
Those gore points are super dangerous, I've seen 3 trucks including this one have it's guts ripped out.
They need to be marked way better than they are for sure.
How? There's a big freaking yellow sign saying EXIT ONLY with an arrow pointing to the right and a divided line down the middle of the road. Additionally, there's a yellow line on the left. In order to hit the gore point, he literally had to be straddling the two lanes. Let's call it what it is. It's a company that is actually headquartered in a Morrocan Spa in Dearborne MI which employs drivers with less than adequate CDL training. They're no different than most Amazon contractors .
@@lornes7526 a sign on the gore and crash barrels like literally everywhere else would have been acceptible. The construction company who left this gore in this state should and could be held liable for at least the road repairs.
@@darthtrucker489 did you see the video
from 3:14 to about 3:35 you can clearly see the crash barrels, there was probably a sign that was taken out by the truck.
@@josersmos7617 Yes upon closer examination (on a laptop not a phone) I see some of the debris that could easily represent those barrels, regardless I'm not backing the driver I'm just saying after years of driving heavy rigs, I see the road crews make drastic changes in the roadway path without proper markings. My only point. I'm not worried about the driver but the 10 hours of traffic that follows an incident like this.
That'll buff right out. He just can't park there is all.
I guess prime members are not getting thst 2 day delivery
Holy hell
It’s what yah get when you hire furrieners whose only thing they had ever driven was a herd of goats…….
I've heard that some trucking companies were hiring illegal aliens and didn't believe it. I still don't believe it, but just maybe there is some truth to it.
Probably fell asleep late for the appointment.Ran out of road dope.
O there are my air fryer
Time schedule I know stress I work there not a good place to work so I'm leaving right now 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
SANDALS
SODIE-WATER
That why they don't get hurt when they drive sleeping. I bet he spoke English. Not !!!!!! That is what happens when DOT doesn't check Amazon contractors. Haul cheap freight get stupid drivers. Some one needs too check too see how Amazon contractors have crashed in the last year.
Drunk driver or fell a sleep
Hey Mister !
In California we have the Labor Relations Board . I've taken action on two abusive employers , and both were fined and I recieved compensation and satifaction .
Couldve turned around at the next exit but no ! That takes too much time ! Prob less than 10 mins !
