071424 FM 1485 MOTORCYCLE INTOX MANSLAUGHTER FATAL

- A little after 10 pm Sunday, the East Montgomery County Fire Department was dispatched to a reported motorcycle crash on FM 1485 East in New Caney. The caller stated the rider was ejected from the motorcycle and thrown over the guardrail into the creek below. East Montgomery County Fire arrived and found the driver not responsive down in a creek bed some ten feet down. Using a stokes basket they were able to get him to the roadway but he was determined to be deceased. According to DPS, a GMC pickup was traveling westbound on FM 1485 East near Sullivan Road. As the driver came out of the curve he drove into the eastbound lane hitting the motorcycle head-on. The impact ejected the driver and continued pushing the Harley Davidson motorcycle across the bridge. The truck came to rest in the ditch on the west side of the bridge. It had front and rear damage. After hitting it part of the bike broke loose and struck the rear of the truck. The motorcycle came to rest in multiple pieces for over 100 yards. The driver of the pickup was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter. His brother was also arrested for making a false statement to police after he tried to tell them someone else was driving. Montgomery County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Jason Dunn performed the inquest and ordered Rios Funeral Directors to transport the 37-year-old victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. DPS was assisted by Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Roman Forest Police, and the Montgomery County District Attorneys Office Vehicular Crimes Unit.

I used to drive after (or during) drinks too. I apologize also and will never do that again. Nothing happened, I just stopped one day and years later, I'd never take another drink. Not because I can't, but because I don't want to.

My son almost died in a motorcycle crash someone pulled out in front of him. He had two collapsed lungs a brain bleed and was all tore up and broken broken three brain surgery later he made it. They told me to say goodbye thank goodness I didn't have to. He is living with brain damage because of this This breaks my heart. Don't drink and drive

Motorists have never given a toss about motorcyclists. They don’t see motorcyclists as a threat and therefore ignore them. Driving under the influence is unforgivable.
I drive a truck for a living and my route goes as far south to Baytown and Channelview area and as far north as Onalaska. The typical driver in Texas is reckless and unforgivable. All day every I watch people put others lives at risk for no reason and this includes motorcycles. I watch motorcycles cut lanes all the time with no signals traveling over 100 mph. It doesn’t even require alcohol. Texas drivers don’t care about anyone else and they need to change the laws. Driving recklessly like I see every day needs to be the same charge as a dui. The cops even drive recklessly. It’s like no one cares . That’s why 45 is the most dangerous highway in the country. Pride and ignorance

You don't drive after drinking, taking drugs. If you take someone's life you will go to prison and the person you killed is someone's parent, spouse, sibling, aunt, uncle, cousins, someone's partner, best friend... not only has the person(s) you killed is Gone forever you have also changed the lives of so many. The person could be Your parent, etc.. Call a Cab, Uber, a friend. Sure the Uber ride may cost 25 bucks ➕️ but you and the others on the road are given a chance to wake up in the morning to begin yours and their day.
Some people become totally focused when they're drinking because they know they have a handicap and need to be at the top of their game. Two reasons. First is having an accident, 2nd is getting blue lighted, off to jail for you and your motorcycle. It takes practice to become a professional!

I am so very sorry for the rider and their family. I used to drink and drive; I am sorry I did that. I stopped drinking because I wanted to, not because I did anything. I wasted about $180 a month buying liquor and cigarettes; I quit those too. The ironic thing is, I bought a motorcycle with the money I save. I know the danger, 1/2 of which are riders' faults, but not this time. I don't ride at night, in the rain or during busy times; I have a car for that. I realize I'm still not safe, but I'm not drinking. This is so sad.
I'm willing to bet the victim survived the initial impact, but didn't survive the 10ft drop...
That "driver" has probably been drinking ALL DAY! They like to drink while working & afterwards.
We've only know very few that didn't....like we could count on one hand.😤

Because of health issues, I was forced to quit after riding for over 55 years. A couple of close calls but overall, I thank God I had a good run. R.I.P. brother and sympathies to your loved ones and family.

Rode bikes most of my life and that is exactly why I don't ride anymore. People are blind and never pay attention to the little guys on the rode. That just sickens me. My prayers to the motorcyclist family through this horrific period.

I rode for over 30 years and logged in over 300K miles, about 10k a year on an HD, starting with a stock '56 FLE and ending with an '01 FLTCUI. From what I can see, it looks like the cage driver was just over the centerline, but I can't be absolutely certain only because I'm not there. The front damage is limited just to the right-hand corner of the truck.
My way of riding was to stay close to the centerline (12-15") if there was no oncoming traffic. If there was, before it got to me, I would veer over almost to the shoulder stripe until it passed. Afterward, I would go back to the centerline. If I were riding in a pack, it would be staggered. I refuse to ride side by side. In a formation like that, only the outside rider can maneuver.
By riding close to the centerline, you have both lanes to maneuver in and also a good field of vision for anything that might come out of either side of the road. I used that tactic whether I was in the city or in the country, day or night. But, I never got too close to the centerline because that's where the sand, gravel, etc. collects. Same with the shoulder.
Of course, if this clown was all the way over to the shoulder, you're SOL anyway you look at it!
Anyway, it worked for me, and I never got in accidents involving another vehicle, especially a cage. Not to say I didn't, but they were low-speed solo. Sometimes caused by turning too tight, losing the center of gravity, similar to stalling an aircraft.
If you're on two wheels and try to convince me you never fell over, you're a liar!

If you hit a motorcycle head on, then how does a piece of the motorcycle hit the rear of the truck and push the rear bumper inward of the truck? If you read the description, that's what it states, but it makes no sense.

Been riding over fifty years. .ride a couple Harley's ( Street Glide and Hertaige Softail Classic 114 ) live in Detroit ( Bloomfield Hills) which extremely affluent, however, at night, during the you drunken careless people driving, which is why, come dusk..im done riding for the day...

There is no corellation between the passage of time, and any particular riding skill level. The vast majority of people who quantify their "riding" by the passage of time, don't actually know how to ride. Especially people who choose Harley-Davidsons over more competent motorcycles.

In front of the truck there was an orb not the flies we see there but an orb it was over behind the guardrail as he walked to the bike it flew by but it went into a couple of circle looks really fast , the second time I saw it by the truck it was an orangish yellow I know I’ve seen them here at my place just last night 😥I think it was that man if it weren’t for all them insects etc., in the background we might be able to hear him asking for help 😥😭 it happened so sudden he isn’t aware yet that he was just killed
I watched it slow motion and theres a few orbs flying around. If you slow it down and stop at 6:04 where his boot is check out what comes across from right to left and then back left to right. I looked at your videos and I have them around me also. My condolences to his family.

Some cell phones a Ring doorbell cameras will pick them up also. Some people make excuses saying its dust or water but its not Orbs are very real and part of the world that we live in there are different types or states of energy , Im not sure but one thing I know is that we are never alone.

@pmczapczara5332 in his defense I noted that the detailed description does not say Texas. However, AFAIK Texas is the only state with roads designated FM (Farm to Market). And the "We're Professional Grade" GMC truck had Texas plates also.

There is ZERO corellation between the passage of time and any particular riding skill level.
Owning a motorcycle doesn't make you a rider, any more than owning a knife would make you a neurosurgeon. And Harley-Davidsons are the sporks of motorcycling. Real riders choose real motorcycles, motorcycles that are capable of accelerating, braking, and turning, to a reasonably survivable degree of competency.

Wow, that's a heck of an argument for actually learning how to ride, wearing proper safety gear, selecting a motorcycle that can turn, brake, and accelerate, and only getting on it sober.

Unfortunately people do not care about motor cycles whether drunk or sober. and the A.H. that drive these DONER bikes do not care how they drive. Even Biker dislike the doner bikers. I give bikers room, When I see a bicycle rider , as I approach them I move over as far as can to give them room. As I approach I turn my flasher on then off after I passed them because A.H. behind me do not pay attention. or are texting. They see the flashers it catches their attention. Drive through school zones I use flasher because A.H. drive fast , so that lets them know behind me I WILL NOT DRIVE OVER THE POSTED LIMIT. when buses stop FLASHERS. Saw enough death from drivers . Saw children dead because of drivers. The worse drivers are the BMW's and other EXPENSIVE cars. they drive like they are above the law. Every day see that .
