    KLM can offer some good offers on upgrades, on these shorter flights it's likely worth doing assuming you don't have a high tier status within Skyteam. A lot of times these last minute upgrades or upgrades before you fly are better value by far than buying a business ticket outright.

      Which routes have you upgraded last minute on?

      @@liftoffandtravel LHR-AMS is the only one I've followed through on (£66), but a few others I've seen some offers for, but not taken them for one reason or another.

    Very nice video! I find that KLM does a really cool job with meals etc, and the are most always very friendly. Thanks for posting! Great job! PS… Never been to Birmingham!

      Did you get the pretty box packaging as well? Always amazed how they switch between a minimum of two languages.
      Worth a visit, Stratford, Leamington Spa, Birmingham itself 👍

    I had a more private jet experience flying Eastern Airways Jetstream a few years back with 29 passengers from Anglesey to Cardiff.😉

      That made us laugh 😁 if it wasn't for the lounge and food I'm not sure it's really business 😑

    Annoying to have to take a bus. Will be arriving on an Embraer to make a connection. Have 2 hours and 20 minutes.

    • @liftoffandtravel
      @liftoffandtravel  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Out of 8 flights 2 have had minor delays. Add in the taxiing which can take over 10 minutes and the bus and you can easily loose 25 mins for a connection.
      My bags didn't make the last occassion but it was a 50 min connection. Seemed short at the time of booking. Oh well

    I wouldn't normally upgrade within Europe however, lounge access, fast track, priority luggage, something resembling a meal, and being at the front of the bus is sometimes worth it. At £70./ it was. I've had check-in upgrade offers at £300 before and I declined.

    • @liftoffandtravel
      @liftoffandtravel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Ian 👍where were you flying when they asked £300? Interestingly in the way back it was £70 to upgrade my flight or £560 to change to one 3hrs earlier in economy 😂💷 went with the cheaper one ✈️

    • @Fat_Cat_747
      @Fat_Cat_747 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its not PE. it is an Economy seat used as Business Class, as is typical with European carriers within Europe. While not actually PE as we know it - an Economy product in longer haul routes, premium in both hard and soft product - you'd be right in a way to describe it as a seat 'premium over Economy', since the hard product is so poor ( they all are ). The other Business Class attributes still apply though viz. meal service, lounge, luggage allowance, points, plus with KLM 3 inches more legroom than standard Econ. Perhaps the biggest benefit of the so called Euro-Biz seats over the same ones in Economy is the way airlines block the middle seat so you don't have someone encroaching your space right next to you. Whereas more commonly with KLM's 3-3 configured 737s, in this case with their 2-2 configuration Embraer they really have quite a nerve to contrive that there is "no middle seat to block" so they don't. This is an outrageous cheek and treats us as stupid. Surely the point is, you pay for Business and you should get the standard that noone is rubbing shoulders with you. If they choose to put on a 2-2 aircraft then that's up to them but they should honour the standard and leave the neighbouring seat empty. The whole thing with Euro-Biz style Business Class is bad enough, but this crappy and insulting twist of logic is the most egregious of all aspects with KLM's Business Class in Europe. I'll mention another egregious example of poor policy is to use these same aircraft on mid haul routes. British Airways are the same here. Also, with BA you don't even get an extra 3 inches, you only get one over the Economy section behind you. Fat people can't get their food trays down over the belly ! While the whole Euro-Biz style configuration is bad enough, at least give us a few usable extra inches of pitch.

    Hey lovely video. OMG the service looks terrible and has not improved. I mean wooden cutlery in business and plastic flimsy containers. AF, Iberia, LH and AF rock but Austrian tops them all

    • @liftoffandtravel
      @liftoffandtravel  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's difficult, I'd like to think that the wooden cutlery is all in aid of being more environmentally friendly but then again metal cutlery can be washed and reused.
      I also really like the design of the box but it could appear a little like a ready meal no matter how pretty it is.
      Not tried Austrian 🍴 may be one day. What did you like most about it?

    Business class on a cityhopper is so NOT worth it. You’re still bothered by economy passengers passing by and waiting to use the bathroom. So irritating!
