It's something people don't often discuss but as someone who travels a lot I'm impressed when the floor is dry and there isn't any random toilet paper. What do you 💙most about Changi?

So it seems to depend on the plane. Some are configured in a 2:2:2 and as I mentioned it was a very pleasant experience but could have been different if the cabin was full. In some ways it's a little like hotels, the one that has just recently refurbished tends to be the nicest. I'm hoping to try Lufthansa's new Allegris product this year so may be give it a few years and try them again. If you get the chance let us know. Very curious to see what ITA are like . So my upgrade price was just under 1000 euros. It could be considered quite steep but the difference between the products is huge. It could also vary depending on how busy the cabin is. Thank you dynamic pricing 😕

I guess because they are a foreign treat naturally we are drawn to them. What would travel be without a little snack now and then. I have to say I was skeptical because of all those reviews that said Qantas has lost it's way but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Had nothing really to complain about... except the plug

Haha totally agreed. If it was in Hawaii or a forest it would have been magical but in the middle of the city yes strange room. Breakfast is in the shopping mall area of the hotel on the lower level below the reception. Also the new fancy bridge without looking is called Saloma Link. Very pretty at night. Kaya jam could be hit and miss. Personally I like it but Brent isn't so keen.

@@faradaycool4058 I always felt the crew were pretty good but as you say you never know. As for the product it's not terrible but I think they are about to go through a huge overhaul in the next 10 years. Would you avoid them?

@@jimbohr That's a good route. Enough time to enjoy the food, entertainment and get a good sleep. The food isn't quite the same but in the long term I think they will come back just as strong. I'm still very pro Cathay and love the experience. I will be doing a follow up review may be late next year to see how they are coming along. Enjoy yourself 😊

Totally agree! Space is comfort. No one wants to fly in a coffin ⚰️. The problem is that it's not always good value. I've seen it sometimes cheaper than economy because of availability and sometimes double the price 😒 And yes love the 2 seats together 💺

I'm surprised as the flight I was on was full. They did offer me a some what reasonable upgrade to Business Class but that would have defeated the point of the review. I have to admit if the price is right I value the extra space but I'm not going to pay hundreds or thousands for the upgrade because it's not enough of a difference.

Interesting feedback and yes that is a hell of a route for jet lag. I generally find I can't sleep (except for Norse) in economy or Premium Economy. The extra space is nice but yes the food wasn't amazing. It was tasty though. On the plus side there was only one person next to me when I needed to the bathroom but with the seat infront reclined it was hard to get out. Would you fly it again or stick to economy?

Well of course Business class is going to be better than Premium Economy! What would have been better , if you chose to fly Premium Economy with Emirates, to compare both carriers products. I take you’re not part of any Frequent Flyer scheme, which is why you’re considering flying two different airlines?

@@paulsz6194 I chose premium economy with Singapore because they we a lot cheaper than emirates. I do have a Qantas frequent flyer and a velocity frequent flyer but don’t have enough points for premium economy let alone business. I’m flying two different airlines next year to experience both of their business classes.

@@liftoffandtravel for such a long flight from Sydney to UK or Europe I wouldn’t fly economy, I may try emirates premium economy in the future but I think I would probably stick with business.

Well it will make for interesting comparison indeed, curious to know if you will accrue the same amount of QFF points on both airlines, being of a similar route& distance.

😂 Hahaha! I normally have seat in the window seat in Economy. It is hard sometimes and I have tried not to drink to much of anything in those years before getting the upgrades to Premium Economy or Business. ☺

It's certainly more spacious than economy and better plating. Didn't manage to sleep 😴

We were discussing this just now. Totally makes sense, I looked at Aegean or Athens and they follow the same three seats with one blocked out. As for the USA I previously asked about paying for an upgrade and was told I couldn't do it because I needed to go on the upgrade list for frequent flyers and just hope. Then again they sell it heavily through their credit cards with various benefits.

@@liftoffandtravel Yep, America has so many different types of reward credit cards, we’re relatively limited in the UK. With Turkish Airlines, they also use the 777 on quite a few flights out of LHR to IST which means you essentially get Long Haul J class on a 3.5 hour flight. I know Iberia also does the same on some flights to Madrid.

@@Alex-yy8ng Have you been on Iberia's? We've had a few lucky swaps from the A330 to the A350 and I was genuinely surprised how good they are now. As for Turkish yes a good way to experience the 777. I even noted from a friends Instagram they occasionally send the A350. Yes credit cards, it's sort of Amex or nothing 😮‍💨

@@liftoffandtravel I’ve not done Iberia long haul J unfortunately, but definitely want to try. I did TAP J from LIS - JFK on A330 and I thought it was pretty good. Wasn’t crazy about the food though, but for me when I do get have the opportunity to fly J class, which is not that often, the hard product is more important.

@@Alex-yy8ng do you rate the seat on the A330? We would love to try the A330-900 Neo at some point over to Brasil 🇧🇷. Curious to know what wasn't great about the food. Portugal has some delicious things so it's a shame.

@@liftoffandtravel I have flown KL to Doha and on to US before. That was in economy. Economy was ok, but I am really looking forward to the Qsuites as Doha to Miami is 16 hours. I love the airport in Doha.

@@liftoffandtravel my flight is early November but I’m a traditionalist and love AA’s J seat. 3J in the mini cabin oh and I loved the seat on the A318 BA baby bus Club World London city (rip).

@@realman6ft6 I actually like them as well just a bit wary of their odd backwards forwards config on the 787 👍

The first rows offer more leg room but otherwise it's down to preferance. Smaller cabin is going to be slightly more private. Otherwise it's window or middle of the plane. Either way you'll have a wonderful time ✈️😊

I would probably not in a review capacity go for 11 D/F because they have extra foot space and you get a quick glimpse of the First class. Also with the toilets behind you people aren't going to keep walking past you. This is assuming it's a 777-300 and not the A380 or A350

It's interesting because most people rave but SQs product is actually a little outdated. It's very grand and a comfortable space but it lacks some much needed privacy. Also can't believe they didn't opted for a touch screen. Will be interesting as you say the next few years with Cathay on the upgrade, SQ thinking about it to

I have to say the outer lounge is beautiful, excellent use of a not huge space. I'm surprised by your comments. The desserts in CDG always look beautiful. Can't think what the rest of the food is like 🍲🤔

@@liftoffandtravel The last few times I went through the CDG AF lounges were in 2023 (haven't spent a dime on Skyteam this year thanks to Delta), they only had carbs on offer, just bread, pasta, and some rice, no roasted vegs like the SFO/JFK lounges. No seafood/beef, only protein were the cold cuts and cheese at CDG. The only hot offerings were chicken soup and the aforementioned pasta/rice/carbs with the occasional peas and carrots thrown in. No fresh whole fruits, only the melon/apple/pineapple chopped cocktail things. They do, of course, present them nicely, so they appear appetizing.

@@jiangni2236 very true it always looks beautiful but agree very high in carbs. As you say pasta, curry, bread, cakes and stews seem to be the favourites at most airlines because they cater to the masses. I've actually said before on flights to leave the bread of because the portion is huge! Haha and yes fruit... Some airlines are good for this others it's all about sweets

@@brianperry7297 haha thank you. I bought the model from London Heathrow before a trip to NYC many years ago for valentines day. You make a very good point. About the age of the product. Really it should be considered against Qatar and Lufthansa who's products are from a similar period. I will miss it spinning but I'm eager to try their new Business Class. How about you?

@@liftoffandtravel well I've seen photos and they both look amazing. The new flagship suites on the 321 XLR considered business but they truly look first class to me from the photos. I love the 787 and I think this will really freshen it up and make it a beautiful experience.

Apparently there is an extra half inch of width on the A380 otherwise the are apparently the same 38" pitch, 19" width and an 8" recline. Either way enjoy, nice route to travel ✈️

@@liftoffandtravel no, not your video which gave a fair assessment. I just didn’t see enough in the difference to justify the cost and it didn’t come across as “Premium”.

@@kencarruthers6714 ultimately when it comes to Premium Economy perhaps the food is better but really you're just paying for the extra room which does make a difference. Sadly it doesn't necessarily make sense price wise. I recently flew on Americans 777 in economy and in a 3:4:3 layout my god the seats are small. My shoulders slightly over lap with the person next to me 😕 and I'm no giant

Agreed. I’ve used premium economy with BA, Virgin and Singapore. Just a bit more space, as you say, but a shame they don’t give a few more perks, like better food in the lounge

@@SimonPendlebury wonderful, even if you don't get an airplane view room take lift or stairs up to say the 6th floor there are chairs facing the British Airways hanger and if you're lucky staring at the flight path for landing ✈️ The food is pretty good and hopefully it will be warm for you. You can even go bowling opposite the hotel if you get bored. Enjoy either way 👍🎳🏩

@@juzzi79shanti40 thanks for the feedback. We deliberately particularly in newer videos the music is actually reduced to half and it tails in so not jarring. Not everyone likes the same music so it's tricky. I remember watching someone else's review and they had hard core rock at the beginning which seemed intense. I have considered more jazz easy going music as it tends to be less intense. Food for thought 🍲
