Hi... thanks for the info. You say to check the prices on Google Flights and then book directly on the airline websites however I found the airline website prices were more than double the prices indicated on Google Flights. How do you get the cheaper prices listed on Google Flights without using the cheaper (potentially shonky!) websites listed at the bottom of their page?
Hey there, my video about the best way to book flights is a good resource on this topic. If it’s a small difference I’d generally pay more to book direct.
Helpful for first-timers booking business classs fares.Suggest slow the pace and put the tips/suggestions on the screen as well, easier to see, also do a summary at the end would be beneficial. Thanks
I find the tickets on pages like premium-flights, the page posts business class deals on a daily basis. The blog is free, and booking links with the airline or ota's are included.
I live in Perth, Australia and fly to Europe once a year over Xmas. It’s expensive as there is limited competition, I fly Qatar airways (same price as other airlines); economy is around $2.5-$3k and business is 9-10k. It never used to be this expensive, I used to fly Qatar business for $6k and could stomach the cost. After some playing around on google flights, I now bookend my Europe trip out of Bali. I book Bali to Copenhagen, through Finnair (through codeshare you actually fly Qatar with Qsuites) and my flights were $3800.
@@DavidGTravels Perth is one of the most isolated cities in the world, it’s quicker to fly to Bali than Sydney 😬 I can certainly deal with those feeder flights!
Great advice! Thank you! If you book a mixture of Business and Economy on one journey…pay attention to baggage allowances as you may not be able to take advantage of the larger allowances for business class if part of the journey is in economy.
Just taking a look on google flights, regardless of which location I choose to travel, prices are more than if I were to travel next month. For example, I'm looking at 1 year+ in advance and tickets are costing $5000 for business and only $4000 if I were to book the flight for next month. Which method are you using to get cheap prices on far-future flights?
I have been sent offer to send a bid we are 2 adults and 3 children offer say from £600 _£1000 does that mean if we are accepted at price that's x5 or x1 and that's what we would have to pay? Little confused. We still have 30 days before we fly.
Price will be applied to all passengers. That price I bid would be for per person or that price would be for all passengers? That's what's confusing me.
Without actually seeing everything it’s be hard to say, but the wording makes it definitely sound like it’s per person. I’ve never seen an upgrade bid that’s not quoting per person amounts.
@@DavidGTravelsthank you. Lastly should I wit 2 days prior to departure to bid or should I bid now? Lowest it's showing £618. In you opinion would that drop further? Sorry too many questions my first experience.
Book on their website I booked a flight to Tampa on expedia thinking it would be cheaper when I got to giving my bag they said I had to pay for £65 for the bags
Without the airline or route it’s hard to say if that’s not the standard fee for a checked or full-sized carry-on bag. Always best to book direct where possible, though.
At the moment, the availability of upgrades for long flights are less then ever before. So book, if you really only want business class, business class! Otherwise you will be disappointed.
@@inetakudina I'm more interested in hearing what consider to be a good price. It's not like I'm looking at a one off deal I got here. I've flown many business class tickets on long-haul flights for prices well under $1,000, in some cases it's even been cheaper to fly a premium class than economy.
@@inetakudina A good price can be a cheap price. Obviously $66 one-way between continents in lie-flat is going to be cheap and a good price to anyone. But is $600 for round-trip transatlantic business class cheap in your view? How about $500 one-way from North Africa to Asia?
to be fair he didn't claim to be revolutionary. This is a succinct video with some good solid common sense tips and some tricks like google flight alerts and using miles. @@DavidGTravels yes but boy do the cabin crew do their job differently (properly!) when a baby starts screaming the cabin apart in business class. They are full of concern, toys, nursing the child like it's their own...I'm shocked they don't offer to breast feed it....(males included lol....on Emirates at least).
@@surfrescue3232 That's a good point, I've definitely noticed this before. Though, some FAs in economy have been really helpful with children seated nearby in the past, too. Just not all the time (lots of proof in my economy class reviews 🤣)
This is not the best deal. There are many of us who fly business class for free. Of course those who know don't ask, and those who ask don't need to know.
I don't know how true this is !!! Alot of B.S. on TH-cam. I've been flying to the Philippines and Thailand for 23 yrs. All I've been offered was Upgrades minimum Non-stop Philippines Airlines $ 500. to $ 1,000.
Can’t comment on other TH-cam channels, but my videos are based on a lifetime of travel combined with experience in the industry. That said, Phillipine Airlines isn’t the best in terms of upgrade offers or business product in general - any alliance-member flying that route would likely have a better product to offer and possibly better upgrade prices.

Either by managing your reservation, asking, or looking it up depending on the airline, class you booked, and other factors.
