I’m a lifelong assassins creed fan and only really played the Ezio games as a kid so I never really retained any of it. I’m playing the Ezio’s trilogy through now and while I did like AC2 (though thought it is overrated for what it is) I finished Brotherhood yesterday and I genuinely believe it’s the worst in the series in my opinion. I really struggle seeing how it’s peoples favourite. The story felt so short that I was waiting for it to get its footing since Ezio pretty much did odd jobs around Rome and then finally in the last 3 or 4 missions, everything happened. The whole story felt so bland and empty and then in the last few missions Ezio just decided to go visit the pope, the antagonist of the last game got killed in a cutscene temper tantrum, Ezio finds the apple in a place of no significance, kills a bunch of Ceseare’s army, Ceseare gets arrested and then we skip ahead like 3 or 4 years and kill him. Then we skip to modern day after apparently finding out that there’s an isu temple beneath the colusseum, Shaun just pulls the 72 puzzle out of his ass and then Desmond kills Lucy and game over. I think I genuinely enjoyed AC Liberation more than brotherhood. I have no doubt that it’s my least favourite game in the series including odyssey and Valhalla

There are some shortcomings like you said in the last section of the game where everything is rushed. I think this game has no middle ground, it’s either really good for some people, and bad for others.

Brotherhood is easily the best of the 1st wave of AC games from AC1 to Revelations. Black Flag is the best of the 2nd wave from AC3 to Syndicate. Odyssey is the best of the 3rd wave from Origins - Mirage.

Lots of people didn't like odyssey for many reasons, I loved it though. Very much agree.
