I feel your pain driving in Philly as I do myself weekly. Although over the past 35 years especially in the beginning I used to become very angered with four wheelers. Age has taught me relax there's no need to get worked up! Now I've turned it more into a pinball game, me being the pinball darting around obstacles. But in all seriousness I surround myself by good people with morals and values I relate to thus the reason I'm at this channel. Guardian angels you do have, because you could have pre-tripped that truck 600 times and still would not have been any wiser to the situation you found yourself in. A co-worker traveling about 60 miles an hour loaded 80,000 unfortunately lost his life from a very similar situation. Front discharge concrete mixer is very heavy on the front axle sometimes exceeding the front axles weight limit. When the particular part on the truck failed because of that weight over the steering axle it immediately violently turned to the the steering wheel to the right breaking his wrist turning the truck 90° at 60 headed towards a cliff hitting it head on. Although he lived through that portion of accident after the impact the drum Broke Free from the pedestal and smashing the cab into the Cliff face very slowly suffocating him. Operator of a tri-axle that witnessed it drove for a different company several miles away from our dispatch yard. Naturally stopped and immediately ran up to the truck to offer any help, unfortunately nothing he could do. What he was able to do was reach through the crumpled metal and hold my coworker/friend's hand as he passed the message to him with his last few struggling breaths of telling him that he must get to his daughter and wife and tell them how much he loves them and that. That was what was important in that moment. Wasn't concerned with himself and his present situation. Perhaps he knew he was taking his last breaths, making it that much more important using those breaths to express his feelings. When most including myself would selfishly be yelling for help. Very glad you were in a parking lot. Little change of subject, friend of mine runs RGN owner operator. Chrome Shop Mafia murdered out. Except for the Chrome covering the back three axles on the tractor. He takes very much pride in his truck looking good, working good, and him doing good. Well about the past year for some reason the hydraulic kickstand used to lift the gooseneck so you can pull away from the trailer must be retracted every single time before pulling away. He knows this rule. He may have made this rule. But for some reason lately he's been forgetting this rule. As a result the Chrome fenders have been stacking up at his shop. Funny part is they don't do enough damage to crush them onto the tire letting you know that you already made a mistake as you turn. But they crush them enough that they don't rub the tire but that you can see you messed up. From leaving the kickstand down as I call it. It's funny how he observes everybody that does not notice it. But the people that do notice it happen to be pulling an RGN and they just smile without comment they know, we know, not all but the majority of us have done it once. With the exception of my buddy who's making it a habit. Keep being professional! Because that is what you are.

I'm not going to harp on it. But, that's as close as you ever want to be to having the steering come apart and losing your life. I had a truck with a bad pitman arm. I showed it to one of our mechanics and told me he would back me up for not driving the truck. Scranton, PA. Lot's of family, like my mother and sister and brother, assorted cousins and friends. Yeah. I been there a few times. Lol! Good video and scary story! Say your prayers to the Man upstairs. God bless and safe travels

Joe, I wouldn't have made that comment in the other video if I knew your boss was going to read and chime in. I hope it caused you no trouble. And I sincerely appreciate your videos and you.

You got lucky there brother 😮
I see you were up my neck of the woods. Those cranes you drove buy on I476 are massive. I'm pretty sure they are 1000ton cranes.

On cars with snapped tie rods I just kick the wheel the way I want it to go. Maybe on a big rig you can hit it with a sledgehammer on the wheel. Oh I see if it was the other wheel it would be easy to direct it. I love you fix. Ratchet straps can be invaluable .
