- Hello everyone! In this video, I'm going to do a full Makeup routine in natural lighting! No Ring Light, No Soft Box's, no after-effects, NOTHING!

When I first saw James channel, I thought Robert had started another channel under another name which was aimed at men, I thought it was a bit sneaky but maybe a bit clever to hedge his bets. it took about 3 weeks to realise they were twins 😂😂😂😂

I am in the makeup industry and every time a client walks in and ask us (me and my team) to re-create a look for them using the same product as the model/influencer etc... and they always end up disappointed because it doesn't look like the "picture".
I don't blame the clients because lots of photos are taken with ring lights and filters, sometimes they forget we don't have any ring lights in store to make it "look good".
So thanks for sharing this!

I've used sponges the last couple of years and thought, what the hell did I do before? Oh yeah, fingers. So I'm back to fingers and it looks so much more natural, which I prefer for myself. Also, money. I like to keep mine. 😆

Oof, the artificial lighting is why I've ended up buying foundations too dark for me. I'd watch influencers thinking they looked like a similar skin color to me, but it's just the lighting.
OK, I already love Robert and James for their sweetest personalities, and drama-free, educational contents...But the fact that they are also into all kinds of spooky/vampirish/goth stuff makes me so happy and proud! My two favourite people here with the same aesthetics 🖤🖤🖤

I’m getting married next year and do NOT want the traditional TH-cam make-up look. I’m 32, I’ll be 33 when I get married and of course like every other bride I want to look glowing and have a bold beautiful look without it being over the top or harsh. Could you please please please please do an in depth bridal video? Show us how you would create a natural look, a bolder look, and maybe a red lip look? I would be so grateful. I was so shocked at the foundation/neck cooour difference! And it didn't show AT ALL with the lighting different! Crazy!
I absolutely loved the natural lighting, and the "realistic" daytime glam look. It's so odd, even though I do learn lots and have used all the techniques I've learned from you IRL, it just feels like this is so much more REAL 😂 And... well, seeing the texture isnt just about seeing pores, it's also about, like, I can SEE that concealer warming up and settling in. I just don't think studio light gives your eyes that infornation, you know? I enjoyed this so much, and maybe it could be a once a month thing?! 😄♥

Ooh I’m excited to watch this because I feel like most makeup tutorials on TH-cam are for people trying to do a whole photo shoot, but personally I just want makeup that looks nice in my everyday life. Also I’ve found when I do my makeup in one light it will look amazing, but then I go somewhere else and it looks horrible

I 100% can relate on the light changing your skin tone, it happens to everyone but it's worse to people with olive undertones, any change in light makes my skin looks so weirdly different, on my pfp i'm under a warm light and i look yellow af, under cool lighting i look paler than snow white lol
I am 46 and LOVE my kohl pencils! They are an aging woman’s best friend for lining the eyes. They are so underrated!
Miss Smarteepants, I am 10 years your senior and I will never give up my kohl liner! It smudges so much easier than a gel pencil, maybe just because I am so used to it, but I am a smoky eye on the daily kinda lady 😂!

This is how you differ from other beauty you tubers, you always mention how video lighting changes how things look and don’t have too much of an ego to make a video like this. I’ve never seen someone do their actually daily beauty routine in actual lighting before, the only thing close is RawBeautyKristi dimming or turning off her lights or zooming in to show what stuff actually looks like. It’s really really helpful for people learning and great to show people that beauty you tubers end up looking more perfect than “regular” people because of studio lighting, or that makeup looks different and better in studio lighting!
I just got the pink honey and omg its great stuff!! Funny story ... i use it to glue my brows straight up so i can trim them perfectly! Now i use it everyday to keep them ruley!💜💖💜💖💜 That misha cc cream too game changer for mature skin!!

I couldn't figure out what seemed a little off. Then, when he was tapping in the concealer I realized: no rings! Great video in natural lighting. Love these videos that are outside the norm. 💜💜💜💜
I love these videos. It truly shows us how drastically the skin changes due to lighting. I obviously understand the reasoning for it, but it helps us put things in perspective. I used to think everyone had perfect skin without any texture of discoloration.

I LOVE kohl pencils. They can be super sharp for precision or dulled down for a softer line. They never bend, fray, or dry out. And they’re incredibly inexpensive!

What goes through my mind in the studio set up is “what does this look like in real life” and it’s hard to determine that from a video with perfect lighting. Hi Robert! I discovered your channel only yesterday and binged watch nearly all your videos! I just want to say how refreshing it is watching you. I feel like I have genuinely learned so many things from your channel and I love how honest you are. You have changed my perception on a lot of things (such as baking and concealer for eye primer hahah) which I thought were a MUST or you are doing make up wrong, I never really figured it was all about their lighting set up and things like that. Please never stop making videos! You are so helpful, thank you!
I was so excited to try the pink honey glue but I'm not a massive fan of it ☹️ It looks amazing when I apply it, but a few hours later when my oils start coming through my hairs start "glueing off" my skin and you can see the glue residue on them, it looks almost like I have dandruff on my brows, definitely not a look I'm going for 🤣
