My skin usually gets itchy before I break out. Hormonal acne will be the death of me. Its the absolute worst 😫
I'd love to see a video about ALL independent brands like "JD Glow Cosmetics", "Bitter Lace Beauty", "Kaleidos Makeup"....I have a bunch of independent brands I follow and think are terrific
Have you ever heard of: www.chaosmakeup.com ? If not, you should totally check it out! They were around before JD glow cosmetics and I believe they were some of the first ones to make these incredible multidimensional shadows with the best formulas. They have the best formula and hands down, the MOST unique and beautiful colors ever!
Yes I have, they are amazing too! I went on this kick years ago when these beauty guru's were all using these incredibly expensive products and I did a bunch of research into independent brands that were not only better products but cheaper too! There are many brands that are so much better than the expensive ones everyone knows about!!

@@brittanyofhouseblackwood they are perfect for people like me who don't like bright or crazy eye color shadows. So they are regular brown neutral shades, but have the multidimensional shift. Perfect for a newbie like myself!

Totally understand. I have like 1 week a month where my skin looks good, and then Aunt Flow drops by. And my flow is irregular and comes like every 3 weeks. Such a bitch.
@@fantuckstic Im on birth control and its all over the place too. The only time i was regular was with no BC or when on the pill. I have the Nexplanon and my skin is disgusting. I had better skin in high school and its kind of devastating considering im early 30s. Not that its OLD but damn 30s are when you still kinda look young but your skin is supoosrd to be better and its many peoples "prime" so i am hating it. So tell me why did i get it replaced with another 3yr Nexplanon?! 🤔😭 Its a different brand but I was told its the same. I have less headaches with this one but now my neck and chest are under attack and that is new. Grr sorry for my book haha
Oh and my cycle is ALL over the place. Ill go 2mo without one and then have one 3x in a month where it is so light. Its impossible to be prepared if you know what I mean. I am debating having it removed and go back to the pills until I finally reach the age i can say BYE to birth control all together!
@@janelle009 sameeee, I have Mirena. And I'm the few who didn't lose their periods but gained more. No cramping, less migraines. Yay for that. But, yes, my skin is horrible, too! When I was a teen I barely had a pimple when I had my period. Flawless skin. At 34...I look like a teenager practically with acne and some scarring from it.
@@janelle009 also, I've had it 3 years amd considering getting it removed and just going back on the progesterone only pill. Only I'm horrible at taking it on time and with that one...you have to, if you dont want to get prego. And my boobs hurt, now too. Not always but when I'm ovulating, OMG...it's what I would imagine having lactating breasts feel like.

Yes, dehydrated oily. The skin type your esthetician doesn’t want you to know about 😂.
Honestly though, finding a good moisturizer as a sensitive, oily gal is a freakin’ TASK!
This is so relatable sensitive and oily is not that talked about. My favorite moisturizer I've used for over 6 months is la roche posay toleriane ultra fluide. It's fragrance free and oil free and has the most awesome packaging it lasts me like 3 months and it's only 40 ml. Nothing tops this one for me. (No sephora or ulta or anything tho in the area I'm sure there are a lot of good ones)
Omg yeeees. I discovered the Elf Jelly Pop Moisturizer and WnW Rose Toner and Rose Primer Serum is amazing for my oily dehydrated skin and they don't interfere with my makeup 😁
You’re so right!! I got told by an esthetician that I am Dry-Combo and that changed everything! My skin has never been better once I started using products advertised for “dry” skin. ☺️☺️
You should watch James Welsh if you don’t already, he’s Roberts twin and he does skin care if you’re looking for good moisturizer recommendations. Also Mad about Skin. Both those channels gave me the information I needed to find good products for my skin type I’m combination/ oily skin. Happy hunting and good skin vibes to you
@@marianneh1456 omg yes when i first started skincare and used products for "oily" skin (devilish alcohol astringents) they absolutely irritated the hell out of my skin I'm glad you had a good professional we can't trust brands like that😂
Robert and James's videos are the only upside to being in lockdown, especially their podcast. Their opinion and recommendations are the only one i actually trust. Also I can't drink plain water aswell I need to put diluted juice in mine 😂
Water is gross lol. Its taste is it's temperature. I force myself but it's a struggle.

You possibly won’t see this but wanted to post just in case - I’m 40 and in the last year or so have become a lot more interested in skin care and make up.... I’ve worn make up daily since I was at least 18 but I seem to have had an awakening! Your make up lessons/ tips whatever you want to call them have helped me so so much. I love your videos, I love how you give advice and guidance you are so talented and I’m trying to absorb all the knowledge I can from you!! Xxx

Same! I’m 51 and I can’t believe I’m actually still learning new ways to better apply my makeup. It really has made a difference in how I look and feel. I just love Robert ❤️

Yes, I'd love to see you use some brands that us regular folk hahaha wouldn't necessarily even hear about. Especially smaller independent indie type brands and companies
Elf Holy Hydration moisturizer really is amazing, especially for the price. I'm also oily/dehydrated and it makes my skin feel so good without that thick layer feeling.
Adding flavour because you're a child is relatable, I don't like drinking water without dilute 😂😂😂
I just don't absorb it plain water as well! I just retain water forever before peeing! (so yeah, pro-cordial but tend to use as little as possible)
Hi Robert, I want to say I'm 60 years old, over weight, wrinkles, hooded eyes, etc. The list goes on. It's hard for me to feel pretty about myself. But somehow you make me feel like there is hope. I love watching you, your very easy to listen to and I'm learning new stuff every time I turn you on. Hopefully one day I'll have the skill to apply my makeup so I look pretty. the pigmentation when you first put on the shadow made my jaw drop. It looks so pigmented and bright, I'm in awe.

Would LOVE to see you talk about some independent makeup brands. Independent brands have amazing concepts and fantastic formulas, but on a budget, it's hard to try them all out to see what I want to spend money on. Getting your opinion would really help me consider which brands to take a look at and invest in, as you always say WHY you like something not just "Oh it's amazing". I always consider your recommendations, so seeing an entire video on independent brands would be amazing! ❤️

15:47 I love doing my foundation! It's so satisfying watching the skin transfrom. I'm at a point where I rather buy a new foundation than an eyeshadow palette. I bought the Catrice True Skin and wow...haven't been so disappointed in a long time. It honestly kind of destroyed my day.
I appreciate the time you take to explain brushes and why you like them. Thank you for explaining how to properly use makeup to those of us who are learning. I wish I had this resource when I was younger lol.

This foundation has quickly become a favourite of mine. I have oily skin and normally wear full coverage because I have pink skin. But I really like how my skin has been looking with the Urban Decay foundation.

I love the elf putty face primer, I just recently tried it out and ive been obsessed with it so ill need to pick up the eye primer😍 ive still yet to try the beautybay blushes but im in love with their bronzer so ill defo need to check out the blushes too Robert👏🏼 another fab video 💕

Serums are essential to my skincare and beauty routines! They feel so luxe but soak in quickly for my skin’s best life.
I feel the same about water/hydration. I need flavour!! This is why my main hydration source is café latte (and that is why I look crusty sometimes 😁). I also cannot stop myself from picking my skin if I see a blemish or something. Like I use those little spot/zit stickers and see no improvements, so I just _have to_ get rid of them somehow.

I am the worst with picking too! I have found that putting some neosporin on the ared and covering with a band aid overnight works miracles for me. They heal so much faster!

It’s a Chinese brand and it shows we really don’t only make cheap copycat!!! (They do exist though, not gonna lie, and I don’t like those products either)

I feel you on the eyelid/undereye situation! Crusty in the corners but my eyelids get OILY!!! Need to find a lighter eye cream for under makeup (my current eye cream is very rich and I only use it at night).

I have the same eyelids!! 😭 my top lids are always greasy af and my bottom lids looks like a dusty wasteland. It’s a constant struggle 😑
Milk Hydrogrip is AMAZING primer. My fave. I traveled and even though I hydrated for weeks, and did an eye mask, under my eyes was horrible. I put the Hydogrip on and it made me look so much better and keeps my foundation on my face.
I love Prophecy, we love a multichrome. Also, if you want to try some insane multichrome goodness on your eyes, make a Cliondah order.
