Amazing device, perfectly suited for a quick, non-intrusive first person view (wearing a harness with a GO Pro just yells "I'M MAKING A VIDEO"). And more Ben please, he's awesome!
Good review. Thanks. The skin tones on the Insta360 Go 2 are definitely nicer. But the bike ride looked very muddy. The camera does run very very hot. Let's see if it lasts.
Amazing tiny little camera! Impressed with the comparison with the HERO8, which was the benchmark of image quality and stabilization in 2020! GO 2 wins by a lot
Such a handsome and younger man. Didn't recognize you first with the longer hair and the sunglass. But I knew it was your voice, so I had to check your main youtube page to see if I got the names crossed or something.
Hiya thanks for the content, love this little fella, can you upload to any editing software or only to the dedicated one. I have the previous version and it's impossible to use using android phone, jut won't work, I gave up eventually.
@@shadabnaseem995 The Mimo app would not work on my older Samsung phone. I got a new phone, and I am trying out the Pocket 2 again right now. So far, so good.
Tim, I did notice that when I recorded an entire 15 minute clip (standard video mode) the camera was starting to get positively warm! The record limits must be there to protect from overheating. The recording limit was EXACTLY 15 minutes and then it stopped recording, it didn’t shut down or overheat as such.
You are using a tiny part of a tiny sensor... if its 1/2.3" sensor.. at 16:9 its only 1/4".. and that does not even count in the room for stabilization... the quality will be poor, and a lot of sharpening will be added. And probably low light performance is so poor that no one will show it. Its clever idea to let the phone do all the computation, and the square sensor is clever idea... the sensor is just too small to produce quality as the pixels are too small for the lens to resolve them.
It's a similar issue with the GoPro, these smaller sensor cameras are designed for good light. That said I thought Ben's clips indoors weren't bad. But i wouldn't use it in a bar, nightclub or concert.
@@cameralabs Gopro uses more of its sensor and it has a larger sensor, a square 1/2.3" sensor is considerably smaller than a 16:9 1/2.3" sensor.... and it really shows in the image quality.... and especially as in gopro you can turn the stabilization off and use the whole sensor. 1/4" sensor is tiny, its the size of cheap front facing selfie camera.. its the tiniest sensor size on the market. The only sensible way to use this camera, would be the use the whole sensor, the square with the black corners because the lens won't cover it. Not that i think gopros are that good. Also.. i highly doubt that the sensor is even actually square.. but a 4:3 sensor to begin with. I dont think anyone manufactures square sensors. Its most likely a 4000x3000 pixel sensor. And its never used fully. If the 1/2.3" rating is from a 4:3 sensor that is not even read fully horizontally. The actual used are of the sensor in 16:9 mode is even smaller.
@@Nobody-Nowhere Hi, sensor size and specs aside, what did you think of the quality of the video from the Go 2? Reviewing the uncompressed video files on a 4K monitor before it was uploaded to TH-cam I would say that the 2.7k from the Go 2 was certainly keeping up with the Go Pro 9 which was shooting on 4K. I prefer the image coming out of the Go 2, the GoPro seems to make skin tones unnecessarily orange, and it applies some funky skin softening. The Go 2 has nicer colour science. Neither should be used in low light, these belong outside in good light. I wouldn’t get too caught up in the sensor size, they seem to work magic with the stabilisation (but as you can see form the comparisons it cant complete with the GoPro for intense action).
@@cameralabs thanks, I think Canon lost interest a few years ago, looking for a pocket camera to replace my sx710. Thanks again, maybe the R3 will fit? Need bigger britches..!
It's skippable though, right? Sadly unless viewers pay for a subscription, TH-cam ads are a necessary evil in order to make producing videos financially viable.
The Insta360 is an absolute piece of crap. Constantly I record video, save it, turn it off and then at the end of the day it’s recorded none of it despite my minutes on the video having gone down. Entire days video missing from the app when connected. Lost numerous clips. Can’t recommend AGAINST the Insta360. Do not get it

Thanks! Yes, i agree, it's so quick, easy and discreet. Ben's not bad either!
@@cameralabs I can see him being quick and easy but probably not discreet.
it's overpriced
gordon looks so much younger, even grew his hair back , daaaamnnnn 😃😆
Those pills were worth the money...
@@cameralabs Tom Cruise glasses made all the hard work :)
It's Ben, not Gordon. He clearly says "Gordon has asked me...." In the beginning.

Amazing tiny little camera! Impressed with the comparison with the HERO8, which was the benchmark of image quality and stabilization in 2020! GO 2 wins by a lot
It’s very impressive isn’t it, especially considering its size. I think the colour science is much more pleasing than the GoPro also.
amazing comparison! great job, any cons or bugs on this nice cam? like freeze, stop recording etc?
Finally a great review of a tiny camera..I’m waiting for it😁
Loved the oven clip (honestly), but where was the bacon cooking timelapse?
Can I use an invisible stick?

Thank you for another excellent review!
Can you make 4/5 5 minute videos and join them altogether on the app to make 1 30 minute video?
Nice video. So insta360 go 2 or dji pocket 2 ??
For what purpose
@@cameralabs , It is not vlog only for travel videos.
@@swarovski333 for general filming I'd go for the Pocket 2
@@cameralabs , Thank you.
Another great video but I am not sure it's worth the $469.00 asking price out here in Australia but I could be wrong.
Returned my Osmo Pocket 2 just today, and am now waiting for this to be back in stock to try it out. 😎
May i know why you did it?

Go pro 8 black and Insta 360 Go2
Which one is better ? Reply please
did you watch the video?
Really well done review Ben
He did a great job!
Watch your head! Great review. :-)
odd. All the other youtube channels had test results that were exactly opposite to your results in the comparison videos.
If drinking a lot of coffee made Gordon so much younger, I am gonna drink a lot more than my usual! 😁
To ruin the illusion Gordon and I are in his latest Rode Microphone video together - or is it just camera trickery?!?
What’s with the recording time limits !
I think Ben mentions it in the review?
@@cameralabs yes he did. Just saying it’s very restrictive with the 10 min record time.

That's what Ben brings to the party.
Great review

What a great bit of kit
Will Canon make another camera, say an SX750?
What's that got to do with the Insta360?
@@cameralabs nothing, sorry, tried to find something close to ask the question. I’ll keep looking.

This little Go 2 looks great. I just wish i had some 'action' to film 🙄
Ah but it's so much more than about action - the magnetic part lets you document activities or events or even just a wander around really nicely.
Looks just like AirPods Pro, go 2 is my next camera I want to get
Nice review.
Thanks!
Now I have the odd feeling that I'm inside an oven... with lots of tasty bacon! ;-)
