The reason Chevy has 3 model years out is I think mid-engine will be announced around January of 2019 and this will allow them to have 6 months of talk when July 2019 comes around. July is the month when the next model year will start production. More on that subject coming. I am doing tons of research and if anyone with GM has info feel free to contact me. Top 25 Corvette dealer, my thought they actively search 2017, 2018 dealer inventory, buying and trading with those dealers.
Bob Baird I work at a large Chevy dealer and we have owners buy new vettes every year... also many people want a vette but can't afford a brand new one so usually we have a good amount 2-3 year old cars (plus we try to keep one of each configuration)
Also there is massive overstock on all US cars. People have been leasing and lots of cheap used cars are coming back, companies want to keep selling as used cars don't help manufacturers. That's why low finance and massive sale pricing.
Val Lam he isn’t talking about new cars, he’s talking about new 2017, new 2018, and new 2019 Vettes. I realize that 2018 was a very short model year and the 2019 model year started early, which is a partial explanation (that Chevy Dude did not mention) but that doesn’t explain unsold 2017s. My local dealer is one of the top ten Corvette dealers and they have a number of unsold brand new 2017s in stock also. They are offering only modest discounts, nothing close to even supplier pricing. I was hoping the video might offer an explanation for the combination of low discounts and two-model-year-old inventory.

First, between the Black & Gray Vetts in the showroom, both were just stunning. I was taken by the black, really macho. The Gray was just awesome. The black trim really stood out. Those cars were ordered perfectly. Second, anyone coming in, dealing with you over a Vette will no doubt leave happy. Your customer appreciation seems to be elevated in every Vlog. Your showroom is Huge! Our Chevy dealer had room 6-8 cars before they remodeled. The entire building was torn down, relocated and rebuilt into a combination building of sales, service, parts and body. Now they only have a two car showroom.

Boy that would have been a disaster if his corvette fishtailed into the other cars in the parking lot when he goosed the gas for a second. I would NOT advise people to do that in 30 degree weather on cold tires. He'll be in a ditch or in the woods before he makes it home driving like that in 30 degree weather on summer tires.

Wondering why we don't hear that much about the grand sport vette? Last Saturday I entered a raffle for a basic red g/s but I'm not sure I even want it. It doesn't even have the hud unit in the dash! And It's an automatic.. I would rather have manual tranmission. Any thoughts?

I just started at Louisville Chrysler (I know) on Tuesday you gotta start somewhere, I knew I could get on quick and its tax season. You know your great at what you do when other dealers Sales managers are telling others to look you up.
Lats summer we had 12 new Vettes'. Two Z06's. NEVER sold one of them. Had to wholesale (at a big loss) all of them. The ZL1 Camaro was the reason folks. For $30K less you have one comparable Chevy muscle car.
Back in December, with employee pricing, I had an opportunity to buy a new 2017 2LT white vette for $52,000 before negotiating. The old lady shot it down. It was a beauty.

Dude are there some news for the 2019 model with better and faster infotainment system like in Camaro 2019 ? Imho the C7 interior becomes dated more and more .....the gauges, clusters and wiper levers f.e. are not up to date and from old models of GM stock.
Why in the world would Chevy start shipping 2019’s when so many dealers still have plenty of 2017’s on the ground. And what kind of incentives are there on 2017’s currently?

Because GM doesn't really give a crap about dealers. They're taking 5-10k losses on 2017's
They over produced beyond belief. And, GM has too many car lines to support at one dealer, or point of sales.
I have a 2013 1LZ Z06. Not yet enticed. HVAC needs a bit of work. just had the rims refinished. Windshield could probably use replacement. It's pretty sandblasted....Otherwise, it's in superb condition at over 65Kmi.... Maybe when the mid engine comes out....if I like it....

This brings back a funny memory of when I sold cars (or, attempted to -not a salesman) at a Chevy dealer years ago. They had ONE new vette and the GM used it as his demo. Nobody was allowed to show it unless the "buyer" had cash or cashiers check in hand because he had his golf clubs and other personal effects in the car. Needless to say, anyone who showed up looking for a vette was referred to the other Chevy dealer in town.
Sometime after I left, that Chevy dealer was sold and changed marques a few times before becoming a dodge dealer. The moral of the story: if you can't sell a vette, you can't be a Chevy dealer.
Losing $3k-5k isn't bad for trade in, but then you also lose taxes paid which is like $9k too :/
Chevy Dude same in Idaho. Well actually goes off the original loan amount more then specific. So, original loan =$30,000
Traded in at $20,000
New car loan $25,000
You won't pay tax on new loan. Original loan exceed new loan.
If new loan is $35,000, you pay tax on $5,000.
This effectively can quickly make private selling need to NET 10-15% more on shit. Fresh tax on stupid priced $50,000 stuff at 6.5% or more..... That is lost when private sell, plus u get to report by law your sell and pay income tax on it. Even tho no one does.
At the same and = time. I don't ever appreciate a dealership fucking people on their trade in. Making markup of 20-30% on used is fucking stupid.
Example when I traded my Chevy, they hit me at $18,000 with KBB 28,000. I hard bargain and they needed to move the late arrival 2017 ecodeisel. I got them up to 25,500 on it and told them mark it 29,000. They didn't and it sold at 26500 1 month later. It had nice after market I did to it.
I went to John Heister Chevrolet in Lillington NC look at a 2018 equipped exactly like I want stood around in showroom trying to talk to a salesperson no one would give me the time of day , so I got in my vette and left . I figured it was a sign . I was going to pay cash and they actually talked me out of it , I figured if it’s that hard to buy it would be murder to get service .

Question I am looking at a 2019 corvette but I don't know if I will fit. I am 6"2 270 bodybuilder.
I would love to get one of those vettes. I just can't figure out how to get it with independent contractor wages ($8.5k per month). If you have experience with selling to small biz owners and attaching the purchase to the biz expenses, I would gladly fly out to Louisville and drive it back to California. I know my accountant said I could get a tax right off for a vehicle purchase but I need someone who has experience doing those transactions. If you can do that, I will definitely buy one from you.

Stacy you seem to not realize that the cars with the sign were already sold. As in, they belong to the buyer and not the dealer.
If you want to touch and get a feel for a car that hasn’t been sold go for it, but these cars already belonged to someone else.

Also I was thinking if you’re gonna daily drive the car to 10-15k+ miles per year then get the ‘17. This way you’ll have like a 2 year cushion before it becomes an average mileage car. If you get the ‘19 it will always be a high mileage car.

The newer the year the higher the resale, as long as mileage and condition are the same. It would depend on the selling price that would indicate the best deal.
Not really, if you have a 19 with 30 miles and own it for 2 years @ 10K miles a year=20K miles on a 2019. Where buying a 17 @20K miles and putting another 20K miles you are now at 40K miles(assuming the 17 is used and an average of 10K miles a year). Either way, the 19 will be worth more money when it comes to resale. Unless you find a 17 with virtually no miles and a good amount cheaper than the 19.
All the years can be had for 15% discounts anywhere in USA.
Last of the front engine corvettes. High in demand, so dealers get them whenever they can. It’ll sell before they even get it on the lot.
I'm gonna go out on a limb & say that the reason there are so many Corvettes available maybe has something to do with the high price? I mean let's face it, the average person just can't afford a $60,000 & up car + high maintenance costs + high insurance. And no, i'm not a hater. I luv Corvettes & have an old '98 sitting in my garage right now. I only paid $17,000 for it though becuz it was 15 yrs old, had high mileage & needed alot of work. Really fun to drive though.
