    Thanks for the video. What i really enjoyed was hearing your interaction with your son! Your a good mechanic but even a greater dad it sounds like!

    Excellent video. You showed how to do everything necessary for a tune up on the Elantra. I will be doing mine (2008) next week. Thanks for posting. Very helpful.

    It would have been slightly better if you showed what port, in the coil, the number 1,2,3 and 4 plug wires went.

    I usually always pull out the MAF sensor and spray it with cleaner whenever I change the air filter.

      Under normal circumstances you shouldn’t really need to do that. The Mass air flow sensor is a self cleaning sensor. The way it works is the pcm sends power to a heated coil and monitors how much power is needed to keep it at a certain temperature. The more power is needed, the more air is flowing across it. At every start up sequence, the PCM will send max power to it to flash any debris on the coil. I usually only clean them when I have a code related to the sensor. (Lean or rich condition, or a MAF code). Oiled air filters like K&N are known for fouling MAF sensors

    Amazing video, I have a 2007 Hyundai Elantra. When I first turn it on in the morning, the first few accelerations before leaving the apartment complex are delayed like it’s losing power and sometimes the car cuts off in those first few minutes. When I start it up again, it’s fine for the rest of the ride but I need to get that situated. What could be causing that? I do have have to replace my spark plugs and such but I was just wondering.

    why did not you change the ignition coil as well? No need?

      Fun fact. I’ve NEVER seen one of these ignition coils fail. It’s just not necessary

    What is the size of the NSK spark plug?

    Should the wires be replaced when replacing plugs on a long neglected car? It seems logical, but would like to hear explanation. Thanks!

      I always recommend it! Old wires can cause arcing which can lead to misfires.

      @@SEsGarageHello, I have this car, the oil in the engine decreases, the engine is quiet, but it does not smoke, what is the cause of the urine?

    I have an Elantra that when the engine is running it shakes and it’s very loud when accelerating. Would you know what that could be? Could it possibly need a tune up?

    • @moneymakindeej783
      @moneymakindeej783 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a 2007

    • @SEsGarage
      @SEsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      As for being loud, it’s likely some sort of exhaust leak. The flex plate is a rather common failure point with these vehicles. The shaking could be many things. Plugs/wires, Coil, motor mounts, it’s hard to diagnose a car on the internet, but those are the areas I’d be looking

    Do you use dielectric grease on the contacts at each end of the wires?

    Feel like a dab of anti-seize would have been better on the threads than fogging oil

    • @SEsGarage
      @SEsGarage  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I generally try to steer away from Anti seize when it comes to spark plugs

      I have no way to 100% tell you that they were original. But judging by their condition I have to assume they were
