Thanks to Joel S550's video i did mine install abouts 2 weeks ago, it works great, no wiring issues, a must do for base 2015+ mustangs. I'm pleased on how it functions, its better than what i was expecting. Got mine from Tomtop on ebay for $305 shipped, go it in 10 days.
Great video. I'm sure that one will help a lot of folks. The only thing I'll critique is, don't try to get so close with the camera. We don't need to see individual bolts up close an personal. It was just a blurry mess anyway. Back off a little, let the camera focus, and and point out the fasteners to be removed. Other than that, great job and nice looking install!
Can you give more info on what upgrade package this is? I ordered the Scosche Kit which works with any double-din, but I would have MUCH rather kept my manual controls. Oh well. At least I know it is a fallback option. If this keeps the factory amp section in the CD player, I never liked the sound of it (midrange was always harsh), so maybe an aftermarket head unit is the better option.
Wait a tic? So the base logic board will fit around the 8in screen? Also, what parts do I need from the donar car? Everything or just the Sync 3 brain, fascia piece and 8in screen? My current CD player doesn't need to be swapped?
Did you have to do any cutting on the black pants or extra mods for the GPS antenna? I've watch two other videos on here and both claimed they have to cut the black back panel. Thanks
I bought a Pioneer radio that fits my mustang 2015 as specified by the company. DO i need to buy any seperate kit to make it fit along with the AC controls and all or i can just remove the top part with screen and numbers portion and replace it with the new one along with the old volume, AC controls frame?

Hello Joel. I need help with some problems. I just installed this unit but the air conditioning is not working well, i cannot adjust anything or turn it off. The blue lights around the buttons are not on. Second thing is that everytime i change to a correct time, it goes back one hour after i turn on my car again. And i could not find a way to change the date. Last thing is that the gps is not working well also, it pops up a message "Out of memory" and the screen just froze. Any solutions ?

+Nicholas Candelas cord is pretty long,, i placed my antenna right next to the rear view mirror. and hid the wires inside the head liner and along the pillar trim pieces

Bro, i have the 2015 mustang v6 base, im trying to buy a used 2016 mustang stereo to upgrade, do you think it can still be installed without any problems?
Ford wants to sell more 4 bangers as they help with CAFE numbers so they attach "Premium" to the 4 bangers. Though the performance numbers are very similar (though the V6 is slightly detuned from the previous iteration). Just get a chip tuner and you are fine. I drove both before making my decision. The 4 seemed a tiny bit slower, the sound seemed underwhelming but that was about it. The 6 had a better sound out the door but again either can get a new set of cans to change that. My ultimate decision maker: To get every bit of performance out of the 4 I needed to get premium gas which is contrary to saving me money on gas mileage. I noticed about a 2-3 mile per gallon difference when not all over it about the same when I was. I'll stick with the V6 but the 4 is impressive for such a small displacement. My question- does this stereo have SiriusXM?

Don't upgrade "just speakers" on this car. You will not be happy with the results - many have reported this. If you want to replace the speakers, you'll want to install an aftermarket amp(s). The stock amp just doesn't have enough power to drive good 4 ohm aftermarket speakers and the sound will end up poor and worse than stock speakers.
I much prefer OEM. I saw somebody showcasing it but I can't find it anymore. I have a V6 so Ford f***** me on not providing a premium option. This looks good though. How do you like it so far?

That blue wire at 5:45, isn't that the remote wire? I think I'm gonna attempt to hook up my own sound system in my 2015 mustang rather than take it to a shop. Just want to be sure that's the remote that I'll be connecting to.
Brian Glo try hitting the reset button with a paper clip see if that fixes it, make sure all the connections are good in the back....if that doesn’t work try to contact tomtop
Anthony Becerra yes it will work for any base model mustang 2015 and up! And there is a way to mirror your phone on the screen but you have to buy an accessorie otherwise it won’t do it on its own
Hello my navi working but now it's not I went into the settings and then I went to Navi path but the Primo card where you're supposed to select is not there anymore what do you think happened to it or did it get erased somehow? because my navigation is not working.

+Razen Alhebshi of course, you have to remove the cd box to plug in the units harness.. cd box won't come out unless you unplug the cables in the back of it and the only way to access those cables is to remove the sync box
+Michael Ortiz this will vary from dealership to dealership. some dealerships don't care and some will do anything to avoid spending money.....if anything goes wrong with the unit you can send it back and have it replaced

There is a vendor on there that is working on plug-and-play solution for adding amps to the various different systems Ford has used on the Mustang since 2015. These solutions are not quite ready yet, but will be soon.
I just installed the unit and all works great except the rear camera. As soon as I place it in reverse it switches to a blue screen. I connected all the connections in the back, except the loose wires. Is there a connection just for the camera that you didn't mention or a wire for it?
+imfasterthanur yeah, remove the sync box ( when you remove the radio is located right behind it) and once thats removed it gives you more room to reach behind the cd box....cd box has 3 plugs that you have to remove
Very informative video, I was wondering there are many more economic and upgraded versions of aftermarket radios, is it possible to install them without the dashkit. I intend to remove only the top part of stock dashkit and place a 8-10" screen there, make connections using the harness. Please advise if anyone is wiser by trying that

take the card out and put it back in......then go to navi settings and you have to choose primo exe in order for it to work
