I appreciate the video. I installed this kit 2 years ago in my Mustang and didn't have the USB adapter. I now have 2 different adapter models and I was getting ready to try. Watching your video was a bummer since you couldn't get it to work with your USB adapter. I will probably still try but I will hold off until I have another project to go with it as well, like a new sub/amp combo.

I have a large system in my car with battery/alternator, LC2I upgrade the same stock radio and it blocks out all the lower frequencies to me? Planning on replacing all the cheap door speakers as well. This is the best video I’ve seen yet on the 15” and up Mustang Scoche head unit upgrade. Thank you!

Yes you can on the Sony head unit whether you use the scosche, metra, or Idaralink kits. We have links down below in the description to where you can purchase them directly
I really wish idatalink mastero would keep up with the 2015 and knew mustangs. Because I liked having idatalink for more gage's and climate control on my radio..
To be honest I am not sure I would probably reach out to the company. I do believe you can switch out the switch panel on the bottom so that might be an option to where you can put in the toggles
Just bought this, going to install in 2018 GT base 6 speaker. I bought the alpine double din with the mini alpine amp that mounts to the rear of the head unit. Do you know if I will need to splice into the factory harness to feed the doors power from the amp?
Just connect the Alpine amp to the factory speaker leads. You can use an aftermarket harness so you don't have to tap into the factory harness. Just plug a aftermarket harness into the factory plug and then that will wire into the Alpine amplifier for the speaker leads. That is only if this car is not factory amplified. If you have a factory subwoofer from the trunk you were definitely factory amplified
@@octanetvchannel yeah I figured I would buy the FOR11CK harness. It shows to work for 2015-2019 base mustangs. I am also told the factory wiring can handle the amp without dedicated power and ground from the battery.
So i have a question i really hope to get answered. I have this set up but the controls of the AC touch screen don't work, like the AC is constantly on. What is wrong here? Cables, motherboard? Touchscreen? What do i need to replace?

Ordered all this with the Kenwood DDX396 from Crutchfield. Hope I don't end up over my head. I have a manual transmission, so hopefully not much difference with the center console. Forums I've talked to are saying nothing should have to be cut, even with a full size (with DVD/CD) player. I have a 2016, though, which may be different from your (late) s550. Is there a brightness setting for the climate controls, or are they controlled with the dash brightness? Also, is there an adapter which will allow either of the two factory USB connections to work with an aftermarket radio? I saw another video where a shop installed a modified TESLA style replacement. It came with an adapter to the factory front usb port.
I had to make my own USB extensions. I would highly recommend Sony for the head unit but I understand if you want to have DVD or CD function you won't be able to have that. I am not sure on the brightness I do believe it has a control in the menu settings.
@@octanetvchannel I was looking at the XAV3200 or XAV5000 ($$$). After watching a bunch of walkthrough videos, neither of them looked to have the sound shaping options I am after, nor did any of them have 5V preouts short of the 5500. DVD/CD is not a requirement, although Kenwood makes the parking brake bypass very easy. At Crutchfield, Kenwood didnt offer an Excelon DMR (Digital Media Receiver) in a similar price bracket. My only major requirements are the 5v preouts, steering wheel controls, obviously Bluetooth, FLAC playback over USB (Sony 5500 and up will do this) and backup camera integration. No radio will integrate with the factory USB functionality. I believe it's part of the sync module, which is eliminated as part of the install. EDIT: In Hindsight, it looks like the Kenwood will only do a maximum of 5,000 files, while the XAV5500 claims 65,000. I have a usb-powered hard drive with ~26,000 FLAC files. That may end up being a dealbreaker.
@@octanetvchannel I got factory USB working flawlessly on my Kenwood with 2 basic adapters available on Amazon. I can even connect a USB powered external hard drive through the factory port. LMK if you want the links. My head unit only has 1 USB port, so I opted for the center console. With two ports, you'd just duplicate it. I probably used too many adapters. But, basically a female Mini USB (USB-B) to Female USB-A, then, a USB-A Male to Male.

I just installed this radio in my 2007 is it possible to put the other 2 screens for air conditioning and sensors in mine ...if I install sensors some how and where do u buy the kit for the screens?
We are not sure exactly on the brand it is a full replacement with carbon fiber. We actually purchased it off of a person but it is a full replacement piece in real carbon fiber. We are actually probably going to sell it soon because we are switching back to the standard dash

Ford dropped the balls with this decade old tech on the Mustangs, GMAB, for the amount of money they are selling these cars they should all come with either Android Auto or Car Play and at least a 7 inch screen. No wonder their company is going bankrupt.

I literally despise the radio in my 2016 mustang it is the shittiest setup I've ever experienced. Seeing how many pieces need to be removed just to replace the radio makes me despise it even more. I wish I could smack the designer of this shit. I used to install audio equipment( subs, amps, DVD headrest, etc etc) so damn glad I don't mess with this shit anymore. Probably ditch the s550 body and swap the Coyote into a REAL MUSTANG BODY. PRE 90'S PROBABLY A 66 FASTBACK.

If you’re keeping the factory radio you need to use Forscan to go in and flatten the EQ and disable bass roll off

Just did this in my 18 mustang gt along with all interior speakers and amp.
We will be making more videos. It made a huge difference in an ours. We did add an amplifier for the speakers and an amp and sub as well

To retain the stock usb plugs in the mustang you need two PAC USB-GM1 adapters to convert to standard usb the radio needs

B&O equipped cars have a CD player still. That's why the slot is there. On non-equipped cars, they use the same plastic piece for cost savings.
My 2023 Mach 1 has the slot for a CD and it works.

how did you connect the factory 12p connector reverse camera to the head unid?, did you need some special plug to converter 12p to a 1 yellow plug?
I would contact scosche technical support and they should be able to walk you right through it. It could be different than ours

On my 2020 gt the audio module went out they want like 800 bucks to fix it. If I do this kit dose it bypass the module.

sadly they discontinued this dash kit so the only other opitions people have now is just metra and the idatalink kit.
