      No, it's not unfortunately... where's the ForScan to remove the bass rolloff for the rear speakers, alternatively where's the T-harness behind the ACM to fetch the good signals from the front speakers?
      The rear speakers in the base systems in any S550 Mustang are highpassed signals, means no real bass from them without heavy re-equalizing or raising gains beyond any recognition. Where's the correct connectors instead of the shitty positaps? Metra has adapters for the rear speakers that can be used to tie in without using Positaps which will basically destroy the stock wiring on the long run.
      Why a LOC at all if almost any amplifier imagineable has one built in these days including signal sensing for high-level input so no remote wire is needed? The Kicker CX 300.1 has a LOC built-in.

    If you use the battery bolt you need to run a metal brush through it to get rid of the powder coating those bolts have so you don't have voltage irregularities. Same thing with the ground by the rear seat. Cool video though.

    The rear speakers wires are a quick access, but the lower door speakers is what you want in order to get a better signal.
    That amp's power terminal is only for fork lugs, or else you run risks of connection problems.
    I'd suggest using an LC2i as your loc bc you're still gonna have Bass roll-off .

    • @srichoudan
      @srichoudan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      All that is true, but for the purposes of my build, tapping the rear speakers was the most convenient and the trade off in audio quality isn’t huge for a sub imo. Additionally, fork lugs are definitely ideal but using the wire itself is fine as long as you’re careful to not let any strands touch the other ports.

    Way more work than needs to be done. If you run the amps power wire through the driver side there is a huge grommet on the firewall just waiting for accessories. Plus you can hide all the wires making for a more professional factory like install. Also you dont get power for the rem wire from the amp. The amp power is wired directly to the battery. Running the rem wire like that isn't a switched power therefore it wont turn things off. Best thing to do would be get a fuse jumper and put it right into the radio fuse then run a rem wire. By using your backup cam wire your adding a place of potential failure for your cam. We wont even get into your wiring connections. But this is rookie 101.

    • @mond000
      @mond000 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aftermarket head units have RCA outputs for subwoofers, but factory head units don't, so instead of connecting to the back of a factory head unit, you tap into speaker wires and those signals are used as inputs for the subwoofer. Also, since you don't need to pull the head unit for the signal input, it's much easier to then tap into a wire near your woofer to get your "remote" input also.
      If you have an aftermarket head unit, then you pull the head unit and just connect to the head unit's subwoofer RCA outputs and the head unit unit's "remote" output, but for a factory head unit, those outputs are not there, so you tap into wires near your subwoofer and don't pull the head unit.

    If you’re installing an amp on this car go the pro way and use a Lc1i Pro and save some time. It’s a more professional way to install it & make sure you use OFC wires and everything else. Thank me later

      I just installed my amp and sub yesterday. My remote wire doesn’t detect a good 12v signal and my engine does not shut off unless I disconnect it from the backup camera smh

      Lol same. I’m debating doing it myself. Done it plenty of times as a teenager but now I’m questioning if i really feel like tearing into my mustang or just letting a pro do it.

    Why didn't u just access the firewall by removing the battery ? It's WAY easier than what u did ! If u just pull the battery and the plastic tray it sits on, u have complete access to the same grommet , and it would have taken 1/4 of the time !

      I just tried it and you can’t at least not on 2020 ecoboost premiums.

    Anyone else have an issue using the blue and white wire for remote on? This causes my fuel pump to keep feeding fuel and my engine won't shut off. Swapped remote to window fuse and amp won't turn off but car will now. Not sure what's happening

    Would this setup work with a convertible? I know the speakers are in a different location.
