Oh My! They did a great job! We looked and looked for our RV for about 4 yrs and gave up. Hubby was sent to Iraq and then spent 7 yrs on active duty in another state before he retired with 38 yrs in the Army. We went to Camping World to see a used RV that had cream cabinets but we didn't like the bathroom. So we looked in some of the new RVs and the very last one we went in, we just fell in love! We loved the floorplan, the decor and the price wasn't bad. It just need a king bed. We asked if that could be done, they said yes, it will take about 2 months. We said OK and the deal was done! We just passed out 10th year with it, still love it and the only thing we have changed was 1 picture that hung at the entry into the RV. We don't full time but we we go a week here and a week there and lots of weekends. I'm surprised we haven't torn it apart and done some remodels. I had given up finding what we wanted and then SURPRISE! LOL I bet if my hubby was handy, he would have changed something or maybe I would have talked into buying used or new and ripping it out. I guess after 45 yrs with him, I have learned his abilities and live with it. LOL Thanks for sharing! HUGS~Donna

We just bought a brand new fifth wheel and pretty much changing everything in it. My husband at first freaked out with what I wanted to do, but he now loves it so much, he would rather do full time living in it. Woo hoo! LOL

I can't say that I'm a big fan of white kitchens/rigs. I know it's the style but I like my natural woodwork. That said it does look like they did an good job workmanship wise. Really glad you guys got your comments back. Keep the good stuff coming.

Those wood "bulk heads" were an awesome touch. The dark blue skylight shade was smart too....And the "barn door pantry was another handsome/sturdy idea.
OMG !!!! I love what they did to this rig. We bought this Rig this about 2 months ago. And I hate the bedroom. I want her bedroom so badly. Sending this video to the hubby in hopes that we can make some of these modifications. Thank you so much for sharing this.

Love the bedroom remodel. The TV stand from Ikea made me smile😄. I recently saw a fifth wheel for sale that had EVERYTHING removed, including the queen bed, and it got me thinking🤔

So beautiful. What amazing work! After 3+ years in our fifth wheel we're ready to start considering a few easy renovations so this is such good inspiration. The wood on the slide faces and new light fixtures they used are my favorite!
What a beautiful make over of an RV home! My husband makes our coffee every morning and I make our Ice tea. Our daughter just found a similar couch nugget at Sam's as the Nugget company was always sold out or on back order for our 4 yr old and 1 yr old grandchildren.

I think they did a awesome job? If you can change it to your life style why not? You know Nathan and Marissa love RVs? Nothing wrong with this? I've had 5 th wheel and travel trailers? But now we want to try something different? It's almost the same as an rv? My husband and I want to try to live on a house boat? Depend on where your dock is? It's cheap? Like if we bought a house boat and dock it at Astor Florida the dock fee is 325 a month? That includes the water and pump the waste water and a little store to pick up something to eat?

I think they did a wonderful job personalizing their RV Home! I love the upgrades and decor. Wonderful family with a beautiful home!
We reno'd or tow behind a year ago and removed jackknife couch and rep,aced with a twin size mattress cut to fit as it's over a wheel well. Removed do ette and hubs constructed a fold down bar with cubicle storage underneath which fit cloth bins. We removed one closet as this couple did and turned the bed...u real how much space that opens up! But again, hu s built 4 large drawers underneath, our bed is over garage space. I like the cabinet door removal option, I wanted to leave and see if we used the cabinet. The bins are much cleaner looking.
We also added shelves in the bath which ran from inside wall to outer wall over the toilet and beside medicine cabinet. So nice to have storage, finally! Hubs also built in pull out drawers for under oven space and bottom below the sink. Greatly utilized those spaces as well.
Unfortunately we only used the modified trailer once after all that work and then sold it. Buyer said the changes were what appealed the most?
Fantastic renovation! They are smart for using SW paint. Never go cheap on paint.

I know! Lol I kept thinking that too. I could see if this was a park model or they camped at places for 2-3 weeks. I know I'd go nuts dealing with all that but it is gorgeous!
That’s exactly what I was wondering!
We have a fifth wheel and have camped for years, so we know all about having to secure things. It looked wonderful, but a headache to constantly put away and drag back out!
On our Instagram I have a reel about this- it does take a few extra minutes to button things up and set it up again. It’s a price I am willing to pay 😅. Our travel style is definitely different from Nathan and Marissa’s. We stay in one place for several weeks at a time. Right now we are stationary in Ohio. If we change our travel style we will change our space accordingly.
We bought a new model (still used) and are renovating it.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful RV! I dream about what we could do to maximize the layout and room in our 5th wheel. We have one cabinet that can barely hold our plates/bowls/cups...ours is a nice RV but the designer who did this layout plan must have never traveled in an RV to know the possibilities that could be profitable to families with BIG kids and parents. I think this remodel, of all the ones I have been watching lately is the best. I especially loved that bathroom. So homey and outdoorsy at the same time. I can't believe I liked the focal wall but it works so well with that gorgeous countertop. I hope that didn't sound mean but I usually stick to the plainer things. I don't know if it would work in our rv, but it certainly does in this one.

Looks great. My camper has the bed straight out as well and there is no space. So I’ve been thinking about turning it sideways too. I don’t get why more manufacturers don’t do that

I wonder how much weight was added to this rig. Those wood panels in the kitchen look beautiful but heavy. I'd be curious to see the cat scale numbers.
As we removed things I was keeping track of the weight we actually saved weight over the factory build. The slide trim boards are actually 40 pounds lighter the the huge MDF boards.

@@livingsmalldreamingbig The cedar boards did look very nice and they almost had to be lighter than the original stuff. MDF is pretty heavy stuff.

Well done, it looks beautiful! Just because we love the outdoors doesn't mean we want to live in a dark brown log cabin-looking cave! RV manufacturers, take note. We're tired of brown and boring!

wow this is a beautiful travel trailer. i would never have wanted one of those, i like the 5th wheels, or even a skoolie, but this is super nice, and you have the bonus of having a vehicle to have for quick travel in the area you're in.

We just meant that we don’t have drawers we want to dedicate to knives/ cooking utensils so we installed magnetic holders on the walls.

This is one of the best remodels I have also seen, is there access under the bed still to the storage below? How did you deal with that situation? I would love to see a step-by-step and how they redid the master.
We replaced the hard to get to unserved storage with drawers.
It looks great. I’ve seen videos where people have turned the bed for more space. It makes sense. The issue for us would be that I cannot sleep against the wall in such a small room. It would just add that claustrophobic feeling for me. My hubby is a big guy, so having to climb over me to get out of the bed wouldn’t be practical for us either.
Turn the bed. I'll have to look at that. Doesn't seem like there would be enough room.

They did a great job! Question; did these improvements void the warranty?
I think it depends company and yes, worth looking into. One set of our friends waited until the year warranty was up to make changes, but this family is an RV Mechanic, so that is helpful.

Do you paint right over the manufacturer's 'wallpaper'? Does it take any special process or priming?
There’s a little bit of prep involved- I think it really comes down to using the right paint. There are so many opinions on the right way to do this- here’s what we did-
Fill holes with wood filler and sand after dry
Prime with Sherwin Williams Oil based gripper primer after you prime- caulk the primer makes it easier to see everything that need to be caulked. After you prime and caulk use Sherwin Williams emerald wall paint.
Some say you have to sand- others say don’t sand. We opted to use very high end paints and thus it eliminated that step for us.
They did a beautiful job with the storage ideas.

@@livingsmalldreamingbig with so many manufacturers putting the the kitchen on the camp side, we loved the idea that outback went with having the dinette on the camp side so we can look out at our campsite not someone else’s.

You’re right- a 39 FT rig probably isn’t for everyone. Stewart has his CDL and it’s comfortable driving big rigs, but we understand that might not be ideal for most people.

We paid very close attention to the weight we removed and added including the balance of the rig.
Beautiful!! Did you have to screw your new sofa and table in to secure it? I'm wanting to replace our sofa and rip out the dinette, but I'm concerned with it moving around while we travel. Also, did you have to sand the walls before you painted them? How many coats of primer and paint did it take? Great job! It's stunning!!

Don't bad mouth it intill you try it? You can go anywhere you want to just like a RV? But for some of those that don't know the difference? One is on water all the time and an rv is on land all the time? My house boat might be a little bit cheaper depending on where I dock it at in Florida?
This is me 100%. As a single mom I want to purchase new to have warranty but yet I wasn't to make our rv a home.
