I hope this review of the Sony A7iii was helpful. Did you like it? I wasn’t sure I was going to like this camera but wow! The image quality is outstanding and video features are fantastic. I always love your tutorials. I am a Canon user....but going to switch to Sony cause I may not live long enough to see Canon catch up to Sony. No I am not dying just too old to fart around with waiting. I love the Sony A7RIII but I am not rich....or want to carry around their expensive glass. Like I said I am old. So yeah my next camera? Why Canon? I know they want to get to that beginner....how about the pro? Or enthusiast. Enough, have a great day everyone.
I totally get it Lisa. From a specs perspective, Canon is falling behind. I'm currently using the Canon RP (my next review) and I like it. The lack of articulating screen is an issue for me with Sony. I'm trying to get over it, lol!
@@TechGearTalk Yes I love the dual pixel auto focus and the articulating screen. Touch Screen. No IBIS. Bout the same Mega Pixels. I want to cry. I love Canon and will watch your up coming tutorials on them. I learn so much from them. Thx
This has been public knowledge for the past couple months. A9 got this first a month or two ago and Sony said they would add most of the update to A73 and A7R3
Good Info thanks I just ordered this camera I have been using Canon 60D for the last 9 years and I also had the 7D markII you really made me feel like I made a great choice
I love your in depth reviews on different cameras. You have definitely helped me narrow it down to two cameras in my price range they are the A7iii and the Fuji XT3. I am a beginner/novice and I would like any recommendations you have towards either of these two cameras, thank you.
Awesome review, tech details and liked your opinion and input on each thing, previously mentioning where it belonged, that it was just your opinion, and how to solve some stuff you may or may not like from the camera. Really looking forward to see more of your videos, while saving cash for the camera. New subscriber here. My only suggestion would be to, add more photos or different videos along the review, we've seen the same 2-3 photos of your dog several times, so more sample images, would be appreciated
Thank you so much for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I don't believe I used the same photo more than once but they are so similar that I 100% agree with you. I watched it again and you're totally right. I'll continue to get more content and use it in future videos. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts 🙏
I watched your entire 30 min. in-depth review. Man, you know how to grip people with your speech (not many have that ability). Great review, but some parts are outdated (after the firmware update is out ). Glad I ever subbed your channel, man. Thanks!!!!
That is super kind of you to say 🙏🏻 I can’t believe the firmware update came out the next day 😂🤣. Now I need to publish another video. Appreciate the support!
The A7Rmkiii is on sale for around $700 more than the A7mkiii. In my opinion the EVF in the A7R is worth the money. I don't need the megapixels but that EVF is just plain incredible. So is the rear display. Now, I am a photo shooter 98% of the time so that might sway me. The ergonomics are crap, but the sensor, the processing, the EVF and rear display make up for it. Great Review! Regards from the desert.
Thanks Buster. I would have to agree with that. When you're getting to this level of camera, and definitely if you're using it professionally, the $700 is not going to be significant over the life of the body. A better EVF is always appreciated. The sensor and processing on the new Sony lineup is outstanding. Not many people realize just how lucky we are. Appreciate your contribution to the community 🙏
I have bought recently a Alpha 7 III and I know I don't take full advantage of it, I hope to learn a lot with you, thank you for that video, you have the qualities I don't often find on TH-cam, I am not English so I need some conditions and you have them all :) to ear it good and clear with a good prononciation, well articulated, nice voice with a grain with good quality sound, an "understandable speed " (so many TH-camr are speaking so fast I feel they urgently have to go to the toilets!!!), Just one very little critical, if you just get a little "stop point", when there is a coma, to make the difference between two phrases, no stop really! just a short stop in the flow, or maybe get your voice tune slightly get down, like you do when you finish your phrase, but just slightly. But I manage anyway. Thank you and I am impatient to see your settings :)
Great Video! So much details described in a very interesting way. I was unsure whether I should buy the 7R II or the 7 III but now I will go for the 7 III. Thank you!
Wow you just nailed it for me to buy the Sony a7iii. I mean I almost bought the Fuji Xt3 but seeing alot of videos in regards to both the Xt3 and a7iii, it seems the xt3 lacks in low light, even in portrait. And yes Sony did skipped out on the charger. As far as the SD cards, I think the uhs2 is not quite there yet as far as technology. Most gadgets are optimize to use the uhsi for now, so the uhs1 v30 is more than enough. Thanks for the video and helping me opting with the Sony a7iii.
Super glad it was helpful. I really love the X-T3 as well. We're so lucky to have so many good options. Thank you for the feedback about the video and for joining the community! Let me know how you like it once you get it.
The only thing that i love sony new camera than any brand is eye AF. I was imagine this past 8 years. The eyes is a center of showing imotional feeling. So when taking picture target eye focus, the images will make more standout and alive. The images become more fantasy feelings. Art of camera feature now i love it.
@@TechGearTalk sigma 50-100mm f1.8. I tried sigma 70-200mm f2.8 its very awesome quality images. The higher zoom lens, the subject more sharper and the backgroud dept looks virtual.. perfect for me zoom lens portrait
Very good presentation. I’m a beginner and after doing a lot of research, I’ve decided that this is my top pick as entry level. It seems to be a camera that I can grow into. I look forward to your upcoming, or other, features for this camera.
Thanks for this review. I find myself in analysis paralysis trying to decide which camera I want to upgrade to. I have an older Canon 5D Mark II and several high quality Canon lenses. The A7iii or EOS R. Moving to Sony is huge commitment, but Canon continues to disappoint with crippled cameras. I think once Sony has the fully articulating screen, Canon is going to have to rethink their strategy (if they haven't already). Thanks again. Great video!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback. Do you mostly do photography or video? I agree with you about the articulating screen - such an easy thing to implement and would be a game-changer. Here is my EOS R video if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/Y9Caw0Ykd7k/w-d-xo.html
You need to decide what is most important to you Still, Video and how much of each you do. The EOS R has dropped in price and if you have Canon glass the adapter works perfectly. The buttons and dials are not convenient but again every camera is going to have warts. You can also get an a7rii used at this point for a great deal. I like the z6 as a smaller camera and I just got the Panasonic S1 which I adore. With Sony another decision is what is the quality of lenses you need. To get comparable to Cannon lenses you will have to spend a lot more. Especially considering you can get great deals on used canon glass. The other consideration is if you get 2.8 zooms the sony body is a bit small in comparison. I would seriously consider the S1 as it will be a smoother transition from DSLR with buttons and dials. You may be frustrated otherwise. Bob
I truly enjoyed your video. I own the A7III. I was Canon shooter for many many years and decided to switch to Sony for personal reasons. People ask me what’s the best system for photography I say the one that you’re comfortable with and it produces the results that you and your clients like. I’m subscribing.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback Eddie. That's a beautiful answer you gave there. People are sometimes overly concerned with brand, model and overlook ergonomics and everything else that goes into creating content. Gear is just getting so good now, we're all so lucky. Appreciate the sub 🙏
You're welcome. Yes the gear is better and I'm loving competition because the companies have to raise the bar and cannot rest on their laurels. I'm loving what Fuji is doing also even though I'm strictly a full frame fan. I digging what they're doing with their gear with their amazing updates yep I'll admit it Sony took a page off the Fuji playbook with their updates. I own the Canon 5D Mark II, & III along with the 1 DX and slew of Canon glass. I still use the 135L and the 85 1.2 with my Canon cameras and the Sony with the adapter and my clients loves it whether it's from the Canon or the Sony system and that's all that matters for me. Each system has it's niggly annoyances because there’s no perfect cameras out there. Oh yes Sony has its hang ups/hiccups but you figure out a way to work around them.
You nailed it. Your clients love YOUR creation. And that's platform-independent. The camera doesn't matter to them, only your vision and execution - good work! Again, grateful to have you as part of the community.
So glad it was helpful Bert. I’m very impressed with this camera and if it’s in the budget, it’s worth the upgrade. great thing for you is you already have the lenses. Do you mostly use it for photography or video?
Loved the video! You are really good at keeping people interested! I found the video super informative! I’m going to buy this camera and I’m looking forward to more videos! Especially the ones about customization! Thank you!
Great review. Thank you for all the details! Question...you sample shots...are they shot with 24-70 Sony Kit lens or a Sigma lens. I see a Sigma box on top of the Sony one. I just got my Sony A7III and picked up the Sigma 35 1.4 and a Sony 85 1.8 rather than the Kit lens, but if that's what you were using....I may return my body and get the Bundle.
693, not 639 pd focus points. You said that twice I think, so in error rather than misspeaking. Either way it's a lot. Excellent video though, liked and subscribed.
Thank you so much for the correction. The worse part is... my notes are right. #fail. Either way, appreciate the support and you taking the time to help out other viewers. Agree with you, it's a lot either way, and it's incredible. Thanks for the Sub - glad to have you as part of the community.
Great review. I've watched your reviews for various cameras. And I'd say the best reviews one can watch and decide on what to buy. And may I know which gear did you use to shoot this video?

Thanks Chris, appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave feedback. Coat is definitely a major consideration - both of the camera body and accessories.
Loved the video! Watched it after i bought the a7m3 but it was still interesting to get some of these facts. Btw, do you have a Website for your personal photography/video?
Trying to decide between the Sony A7iii and the Canon EOS R. I will be shooting stills 99% of the time (mostly landscapes, portraits, street photography, etc.) so recording video is of very little concern. Great autofocus, dynamic range, and low light shooting all appeal to me. I have an old Canon T3 DSLR but I'm not invested in Canon glass. I want to make the jump to a full frame mirrorless camera but I keep going back and forth between these two. Any advice or suggestions? I have watched your videos on both but am still torn! Thanks!
Hi Jared. Good news - you can't go wrong. Bad news - that doesn't help you choose. Out of the camera, I like the color on the Canon better. I've been shooting Canon for years, so maybe that's why. The autofocus (for photos) on the A7iii is absurdly good - and so is the one on the R. The A7iii might have better low-light performance but... (th-cam.com/video/q2hs8BOTXb4/w-d-xo.html so take that for what you will). I now use the a7iii as my main camera with mostly Canon lenses. Might you, I bought it because I wanted it for video (specifically 120fps). Let me know if this helps at all.
Tech Gear Talk That does help.. thank you! Very interesting video about low light too! I’m leaning more towards the Sony because it seems like a hard camera to beat with the better low light performance, IBIS, better battery life, two card slots, and Sony’s great EyeAF. Going from the R to the A7iii, do you miss the ergonomics or the higher resolution of the EVF on the EOS R? Thanks for your input!!
Oh good, glad it was helpful! Ergonomics - no doubt. Canon is just better for me. It's simpler (even with the silly touch bar which I disabled). It's just more intuitive. With Sony, I'm still finding myself looking for stuff in the menu. (but mind you, I'm switching from photo to video to slow mo to 4k, to 1080 blah blah. EVF - nothing I'd notice unless you put them side by side and looked back and forth.
Again, really informative in-depth video review. I like that you keep your reviews honest and mention both the good and the bad of every camera. Is really helpful when trying to make an informed decision (like I am) in order to purchase your next camera. I have a question though, I wonder, is there any reason why you haven´t reviewed the Nikon Z6? And, do you have any plans of doing so at any point? Thank you and stay safe!
Thank you for the insightful feedback Kevin. My goal is to educate viewers about the camera - not just try to sell them one - and I'm glad that's apparent. No reason I have not reviewed the Z6, other than the fact that I haven't been able to get one. I did review the Z50 th-cam.com/video/_o19-t3EgoM/w-d-xo.html if you're interested. I hope to be able to get one but we'll see with what's going on...
@@TechGearTalk thank you so much for your prompt reply! I´ll keep an eye open just in case ;) It is definitely apparent that your objective is not to try to sell the gear but inform about it, and they way that you do it, collected, polite and calm is really fresh and appreciated. Thanks again, and take care!
Hey there, I've watched a few of your videos and they are super informative and enjoyable, thank you so much for these vids!! I've been wanting to get my hands on a mirrorless digital camera for a while now and I'm struggling to decide which Sony camera I should get. Would you recommend getting the A6400 or the A7iii? For background reference, I don't think I'll be shooting any videos with the camera and that I will just purely be using it for photography (specifically portraits and landscapes)
Glad you enjoyed the videos. Have you seen my comparison? th-cam.com/video/Slj3yWIdIj8/w-d-xo.html (if I'm not a professional, I'm probably not spending money on a full frame camera + lenses). Hope that helps.
Thanks for all your content! :) Could you perhaps do a video on using the a7iii for short films and/or commercials? I am worried about the bitrate, but I don't know if I'm being a bit silly.
@@TechGearTalk Actually they don't lol The A7 I, II and III have been used by professionals since day one. Studio professionals will opt for the R version, while sport/action shooters the S. They are all professional grade camera's. Without the big N and big C pricetag.
I tried contacting you through the ‘reply’ method through my gmail account (no-go). Well to answer your question the last camera I ordered for the folks I use to work for, (DoD),was a Betacam SP with some killer Fujinon glass. I also worked as a Dir for Distance Learning, at a small college in the PNW when the DSLR thang was making it appearance and made a few purchases through that venue, yet since I’ve retired, all my personal (media)money has been in buying DAW related gear. So I’ve been focusing on music, and now I want to make a music vid. That’s the story. Still don’t know yet, as to a cam purchase. The Sony looks very attractive. Wish these manufactures would put XLR inputs on these cams, but that would re-segment that class of equipment and the price-point would be cost prohibitive for folks like us. Thanks again do your fine work.
Your videos are great. I'm currently battling with this or the Canon m50 ii. Main use is low light and videos. From your reviews of both: I'm thinking Sony is more for me. However, canon has cheaper lenses too.
Hi, thanks a lot for your reviews, I’ve watched quite a few for my research for my new camera but I can’t make up my mind between the a7iii, a6400 or a fuiji xt3, 4 or 30, also looked into the canon r or rp. This would be my first interchangeable lens camera. What would you say it the best for photography? I don’t do much video. I do mostly landscape and travel photography but also a bit everyday, sport as well. I’m debating between getting a super quality camera vs more lightweighted one for travel. Thanks a lot!
I’m still happy with it Susanne. I think there is always a “next model” so if the current model is a good value, I get it and move on. What is making you switch from the 6d? What do you use it for?
Thank you so much for this great review! I would like to buy this camera to bring my videos to the next level, but it's so damn expensive! Have to think about it, but your review is very helpful!

@@TechGearTalk Thanks. I wasn't sure what camera to buy. But after seeing your video I proceed with a Sony A7 III. I've seen tons of videos, explanations, samples, etc., but your review was very important for me. I'm sure it was a very good decision... I'm sure of that. Sony A7 III seems to be the best option taking into account the incredible features it has at a reasonable and competitive price. I hope to show you my footage with this camera in a near future in order to receive your very appreciated feedback. Regards from Venezuela.
I’ve been using the A7III for more than a year now but I still watched this entire video 😂😂😂 Very complete review which was obviously recorded before the V3.0 firmware update. I can’t believe it took an entire year for Sony to add interval shooting! The downsides to this camera are just as you stated, the screens, the absence of face detect AF in 4K with an external monitor, the second card slot only being UHS I, and the horrible, atrocious, completely useless Play Memories app. Yet more than a year later it offers more than any other camera in the price range and beyond the price range. Hard to believe that Sony still hasn’t announced a new full frame body since the A7III.
Appreciate you watching and providing insight. This really is a super impressive camera - even with what we both mentioned. And you know I love animal eye detection :D
Nice review, I would like to see you opinion regarding Sony a7ii vs a7iii. I am deciding to buy one of these. I am a hobby photographer, I do mostly family and social event photography. I know a7ii takes only 1080p video, but how does the image quality compare between a7ii and a7iii? Should I buy a7ii and save 1000$ to buy something else like a separate video camcorder which can shoot 4K video?
Great video. Enjoyed watching and also a canon user. Thinking to jump ship as need upgrade from my 70D. 😅. Still have L lenses so sounds like a bonus with them on the Sony. Was thinking and still thinking of the Canon R
The A7iii is a fantastic camera and I'm really enjoying using mine. The only issue for me the L series lenses can't autofocus for video which is a bummer :(
@@TechGearTalk Ha I'm still torn between the two. I know Sony would be the better option all round but I just love Canon.. Haha n trying to convince myself. Hahaha
@@TechGearTalk I'm saying this due to the crop, yes it can be fixed with a wide angle lens but then your limited just to one lens. I'm new to videography so at this moment in time 120p won't be used. However, it's good to have the option as my skills progress. Yes, it can be slowed down in post but to what degree and will it still contribute the same effect? IBS would also be ideal for those who are starting out and it helps with better performance. Once again to fix that problem you could invest in a gimbal $$$. I can find solutions to the problems.Where as these issues are a standard requirement with Sony. This will be my 1st FF and i'm looking at it as a LONG term investment. The Sony is WAY cheaper than the R and yet I'm still not swayed. :-) The dual card slot has no relevance to me and the joystick isn't a factor either. I've never had one on my 70D so I'm not missing anything. What I do find amusing is the R being better than the 5D but yet no really SLATES the 5D. :-)
Outstanding points you bring up and are all part of the reason why I bought the a7iii. I have been super happy with mine and I think you would be buying it for the right reasons. I would make sure you go to a store and play around with both cameras. All the specs in the world don't mean a thing if you don't like using the camera. So hold them both, play around and use them, take into consideration what feels better.
Super nice and informative video. Keep recording more for A7iii. Do you already have video for your settings that you mentioned - specially for the low light settings. I could not find on your channel. if so please provide the link and if not yet then really waiting for it.
Great great Video thanks very much I think you have helped me make up my mind . Here is my only question. Im coming from canon 7D mkii and the 6d. I have two 15 yr old L lens the 100-400 and the 24-70 I love them both and they have both been serviced and repaired over the years. Do you think they will work with the Sigma MC - 11 converter/lens adapter. I use the 100-400 mostly for sport and the 24-70 for landscape.
Glad the video was helpful! I would definitely go to a store with the lenses and try it out to make sure. That would be a bad thing to realize after you buy it (like what happened to me with the autofocus for video not working...)
@@TechGearTalk Thanks for getting back to me so quickly and for your advise its greatly appreciated and I will defiantly follow it. Have a great day and happy Thanksgiving

I'm new to camera! Bought A7riii yesterday. Can you suggest some lenses(I know nothing about it). Needs:- portraits, sunlight shots, low light pictures, vlogs, cinematic video(not necessary tho)
Very detailed video as always. I have problems with the screen I live in Greece where the sun is shining 😁😁😁 I have troubles. I am thinking to buy the A7 rIII do you think the screen is better? And for my a7 III I will go maybe for an external monitor and use it for second camera..... Video oriented 😊
@@TechGearTalk with the viewfinder its impossible when I am on the gimbal. So that's why am thinking the A7 rIII but I haven't seen it live to see if the screen is better. I will wait of course several months. The season starts Mai. Maybe the A7 SIII will be out. But at a price range over 3500 it will be to much for my pocket 😊

@@TechGearTalk I haven't heard any problems about it not working. But I know that capacity limits used to be an issue with at least older cameras.when I first started using digital cameras, they usually had a capacity limit of around 2GB or 32GB depending on the model of camera. I think cameras that now support SDXC can take up to a 2 terabyte card
That sounds about right. I usually don't like to have cards that are that big because there is a risk of losing too much (of course there are dual SD card slots here so that would help). After the firmware 3.0 upgrade, all my card issues were gone and I'm super happy with this camera.
Note: the current firmware corrects the SD card issue, added interval shooting and added some other amazing features - UPDATE video coming!!!!

Appreciate your contribution to the community

Loved the video! I just bought mine & I can't wait to get it tomorrow :)
Congrats Anthony! It's an incredible camera. Which lens/es did you get?
Glad you enjoyed the video and appreciate the feedback. Here is the setup video: th-cam.com/video/K_iz3d9Qth8/w-d-xo.html Hope it's helpful.
I ordered from B&H and they included the charger; love the camera, has internal IS too and the camera is light for travel 😃
Nice! Yes, IBIS is great and I'm glad you're happy with it. What lenses are you using?
@@TechGearTalk I got the 35mm samyang as my walk around lens and the 90mm G macro/portrait lens😁

Great Video! So much details described in a very interesting way.
I was unsure whether I should buy the 7R II or the 7 III but now I will go for the 7 III.
Thank you!
I'm super glad it was helpful! Thank you for the kind words and for joining the community 🙏
Let me know how you like it once you get it.
just got it from shop and liked your review and very interested to learn the best way to enjoy the results

dude you are like one year behind in using this great camera. I got it in April of 2018 and it was awesome as it surpassed my a6500.
Ha! No doubt. I was working on a ton of other stuff. Regardless, I now have and love my a7iii.
Which lenses are you using?

This is an excellent overview of this camera. Thank you for the well balanced content
Appreciate you watching and the kind feedback.
Keep up the work. Really detailed and great information. Made me chose the a7iii over the GH5. Keep up the work! I'll be following.
Super glad the video was helpful. Congrats on picking a camera!
Thanx for a great review. About to buy this camera, so its good I found your video. Looking forward to seeing your other videos on the A7III. Cheers!

The only thing that i love sony new camera than any brand is eye AF. I was imagine this past 8 years. The eyes is a center of showing imotional feeling. So when taking picture target eye focus, the images will make more standout and alive. The images become more fantasy feelings. Art of camera feature now i love it.
I really love this feature. It's so good for portraits! What lenses are you using?
@@TechGearTalk sigma 50-100mm f1.8. I tried sigma 70-200mm f2.8 its very awesome quality images. The higher zoom lens, the subject more sharper and the backgroud dept looks virtual.. perfect for me zoom lens portrait

Great Video. Well Written. You deserve more Subs.
Thank you brother. 1 > 0
Very good presentation. I’m a beginner and after doing a lot of research, I’ve decided that this is my top pick as entry level. It seems to be a camera that I can grow into. I look forward to your upcoming, or other, features for this camera.
This is a super powerful camera. You can definitely grow with it.

@bob Hanuman Great input Bob

Many thanks, great review, still contemplating to change from the a7 to this a7mk3. Your review is very helpful.
So glad it was helpful Bert. I’m very impressed with this camera and if it’s in the budget, it’s worth the upgrade. great thing for you is you already have the lenses. Do you mostly use it for photography or video?
What lens would you recommend for street photography , architectural photography , wedding shoots and videos for the a7iii?!
9:27 Lexar Pro is the only SD card that ever failed me since my first use of mirrorless cameras in 2011. It has known issues. Not a Sony Issue.
Appreciate the feedback! I believe since the 3.0 firmware upgrade this is no longer an issue for me.
Loved the video! You are really good at keeping people interested! I found the video super informative! I’m going to buy this camera and I’m looking forward to more videos! Especially the ones about customization! Thank you!
Glad you liked the video Adriana 🙏
Working on these future videos right now!
I have a a6400 but I need a second camera and I think this is perfect!
It's an amazing camera. You don't want another a6400 (I'm reviewing one of those now)?
Tech Gear Talk I would get another but I just want something different
Got it!

AMAZING IN DEPTH VIDEO! Thank you so very much! 👍🏾 I watched every second.

EVF - nothing I'd notice unless you put them side by side and looked back and forth.
dont think I'm gunna buy this any time soon but this video was so good I still watched it all lol....what a vid, amazing stuff!

Again, really informative in-depth video review. I like that you keep your reviews honest and mention both the good and the bad of every camera. Hey there, I've watched a few of your videos and they are super informative and enjoyable, thank you so much for these vids!! Hi! Thank you for the great video!
Which camera do you recommend for video shootings with low light and good Autofocus?
Thanks for the kind words and support. The a7iii is a great option - and like every other camera, you'll want a fast lens. Does that make sense?
Does face detection work in 1080/60 w/ an external monitor?
Hi. Yes it does. 1080 at 24p 50M, 30p 16M and 50M, 60p 25M and 50M.
It does not work for 120p

I called it an entry level into Sony’s lineup of full frame mirrorless camera 😉
That’s how Sony positioned this model
“Entry level FULL frame”!
In short it's a sleeper fullframe 📷😀😀
Did you even watch the review? He said it’s an entry level full frame camera which is accurate
@@TechGearTalk Actually they don't lol The A7 I, II and III have been used by professionals since day one. Studio professionals will opt for the R version, while sport/action shooters the S. They are all professional grade camera's. Without the big N and big C pricetag.

What are you shooting with now?
That makes sense. DAW-related gear can be another black hole for $ 😂
Why do we pick such expensive hobbies?
Hey, I really enjoyed your video. What do you think about this camera vs the Fuji X-T4?
Both great. Personally I would take the X-T4
@@TechGearTalk Thanks!
Great video! Are you still happy with it? Do you think it's worth eating for improvements in the next model (I am on Canon 6D now)?
I’m still happy with it Susanne. I think there is always a “next model” so if the current model is a good value, I get it and move on. What is making you switch from the 6d? What do you use it for?

Tech Gear Talk I was thinking that watching the video, I’m going to have to hit the dog park and try that animal eye af out for sure!

Great video. Enjoyed watching and also a canon user. Thinking to jump ship as need upgrade from my 70D. 😅. Still have L lenses so sounds like a bonus with them on the Sony. Was thinking and still thinking of the Canon R
The A7iii is a fantastic camera and I'm really enjoying using mine. The only issue for me the L series lenses can't autofocus for video which is a bummer :(
@@TechGearTalk Ha I'm still torn between the two. I know Sony would be the better option all round but I just love Canon.. Haha n trying to convince myself. Hahaha
This is a great discussion. Can you tell me why you think Sony would be a better option all around? I think it's important.
Hi Ashish. I haven't published it yet, but it's coming. I'll create an a7iii playlist. Did you see my favorite accessories video for it?
@@TechGearTalk thanks . Yes A7iii playlist is a great idea. Will check on accessories video.
Thank you, will do. I forgot to give you a link to the video, sorry: th-cam.com/video/7MXDjkDmBQQ/w-d-xo.html
Is this camera good for music video? thanks .Great video
Absolutely Milan. It would do a great job and you can use 120fps for slow motion effect
@@TechGearTalk thanks man ,sub you right now
Glad I was able to help! Welcome and thank you for the support!
I'm super glad it was helpful! Thank you for the kind words and for joining the community 🙏 Also, happy thanksgiving to you as well!
I AM ENJOYING THIS VIDEO. Thank you for the information
That's great to hear! Let me know what you think at the end!
Another great in depth all covered review.
Now.. you have mentioned how this camera performs with canon lenses with adapter but, what about us nikon users with a lot of nikon glass?
I can buy one or two sony or sigma lenses for video but can i use my nikon G series lenses with confidence for taking photos? tnx
Hi - thank you for the kind words. I don't have any Nikon lenses or an adapter to test. If you do find out - please let me know - always looking to learn.
Excellent video, thank you. Does the continuous AF work well with canon telephoto lenses (100-400) for still shooting like sports or wildlife ?
I'm glad the video was helpful. I don't have the 100-400 but it worked for me with 70-200 I have not had it work well. It looks like it's tracking but hasn't worked well.
I'm new to camera! Bought A7riii yesterday. Can you suggest some lenses(I know nothing about it). Needs:- portraits, sunlight shots, low light pictures, vlogs, cinematic video(not necessary tho)
Hi Arnav - congratulations!! Look in the description of the video for some amazing lens options.
Fantastic review 👏👏
Very detailed video as always. I have problems with the screen I live in Greece where the sun is shining 😁😁😁 I have troubles. I am thinking to buy the A7 rIII do you think the screen is better? And for my a7 III I will go maybe for an external monitor and use it for second camera..... Video oriented 😊
Glad it was helpful. You’re going to need a monitor and sun shade in bright sunlight or use the viewfinder.
You might want a dedicated monitor, something like a SmallHD. I haven't seen any camera screen that has been bright enough to "really" see.
@@TechGearTalk small HD is to expensive at the moment maybe I will go with the... Feelworld A6 plus the price range is OK. The income in Greece is small 😉 thanks a lot for your time to comment.
I just got a monitor from Andy Cine which I will test out. Keep an eye out.
Thankyou for another in depth and informative product review. You are my go to man for products that I am interested in buying 👍🍻👍🇦🇺
You're so welcome - glad I can provide some value. Appreciate all the support! 🙏
Great video. which canon is it comparable to? thank you
Thank you Craig 🙏 Check out this comparison: th-cam.com/video/Oob1DfnpPK0/w-d-xo.html
Great video for TH-cam to recommend right as I get home from the store with my a7iii lol thanks algorithm
Ha, it was a little late. CONGRATS on the new camera!!! Hope you like it (and that the video was enjoyable). Here is a "post purchase" one - th-cam.com/video/K_iz3d9Qth8/w-d-xo.html
you've got nothing not to love!
Agreed Tom!
Thank you so much for all of the information on this camera body! I have been looking around for a while now for a new camera, I'm still working on a Canon Rebel T3i... I am due for an upgrade and the Sony a7III is it!
I'm so glad I was able to help Amanda. Thank you for the kind words and for your support!
Let me know if you have any questions.
Great video!
One thing that I'm curious to know is that, will this support a 512gb card in each slot?
Thanks Mathew, appreciate it. I have not tried, since my biggest cards are 256GB. Have you heard anything about it not working?
