Marvel Legends X-Men Custom Kitbash Action Figures Age of Apocalypse Sunfire Madcap Wolverine Storm

- A showcase of all of the X-Men customs I've done! Several figures from past to present, and in-between, and I'm glad to show them to you all! Whether it be doubles of figures to get the pieces or entirely different ones, these custom kitbashes are sure to delight!

As a kitbash customizer myself, I noticed:
1) Storm is on point - the lightning effects plus a casual yet fashionable version/attire of TAS Storm.
2) Well thought out for the wristbands used on biceps of Apocalypse, else they will look small in proportion(plus provide attachment point for the tubes). Also, he finally has ranged weapons for arms that toy companies never provided since the TAS vintage from Toybiz!
3) Well matched color scheme for the Team of Shadow King! - dark themed purple, black, grey plus contrasting white from shadow king himself -> great!
4) The ice man pose towards the end, plus the freezing effect on the paladin trooper, is very convincing (thumbs up).
Overall, great designs man.

The cuffs on the Vintage black costume Wolverine work better than the Storm cuffs, FYI... They're already the perfect size to fit on his arms without heating anything, AND as an added bonus, they make his wrists look bigger so he doesn't have those peewee looking baby wrists.

Don't look at it as a whole other Wolverine just for some cuffs, look at it as getting the cuffs to upgrade your Havok, the proper sword for Silver Samurai (I believe...? One of them gets the red one, one gets the black version but Samurai has neither... But you can check that, maybe Xmanny87's reviews on those guys perhaps...), an extra set of black, gloved hands (you can never have too many, lol), an alternate Wolverine head for either Weapon-X Wolverine, or another version with a crap head sculpt (the mesh paint apps can be easily removed from around the eyes...), AND a whole other body to create a custom somebody from, maybe another "shadow thug" or maybe use it to make a better Madripoor/Patch Wolverine, or a tall Puck... LOTS of uses for him if you think about it... 😉

Kit-bash that Havok (X-factor) with Spymaster.. swap the boots so that Havok has his actual yellow boots from the comic in that costume! He was depicted as either having yellow bands with yellow boots, or with straight up black legs with no yellow bands.

Wanting to copy what you did with Apocalypse/Death's Head. Was it as straightforward as removing Death's Head's arm and popping it into Apocalypse's Arm? Any tips? I'm afraid of ruining Apocalypse as he's my favorite figure in my collection.

Watch my Madcap Prowler review. That tells you how to pop joints and arms.
As for the kitbash, you will need a right and left apocalypse arm, and two deaths head figures. Pop off all six left and right arms at the shoulder. Separate all deaths head left arms at the joint.
Take off both apocalypse hands and remove the cuffs. Discard the apocalypse arms and fists, and the deaths head bodies.
Attach the left cuff to the left bicep of the deaths head arm (repeat with the right side for all further steps). You will need A LOT of heat for this, and make sure the tentacle port is at the back of the bicep. Reattach the left deaths head arm together and then attach the whole thing to the apocalypse shoulder.
Do this for both arms and now you have two!

I have to say, that Apocalypse is my favorite. It just saddens me that its a custom because us marvel collectors are in dire need of a classic Apocalypse
Actually, just the arms are custom. It was a baf a few years back, and a deluxe figure last year. You’ll get him! :)
