Any tips for female Marvel Legends, particularly with the diaphragm joint? I am making a custom Emma Frost, using Scarlet Witch's upper torso and Sharon Carter's abdomen. I don't know how to dissect/separate the two.
Clearest video on how to do this on youtube. I recently had to crack open a Savage Dragon and its construct is a bit different. If you happen to use an older figure, it would be great if you put a video up. Subbed!
For real. The female legends have much smaller bodies. I have a Mocking Bird and Agent Carter that I want to make a custom Sonya Blade (Original costume) with and I have no idea where to begin. I just LOVE the mocking bird body for that project though. It would be perfect for a Sonya Blade custom. Especially since I have both Shao Kahn and Goro from Storm Collectables.
@@justinbrown5722 Is it possible to pop off the legs at the groin point without having to drill and disassemble the groin? And then heat it enough to pop a leg back on? I want to do a belt swap with Wolverine figures.
@@tryksta7247 I would pop the thigh off on both legs for the figure and heat up the belt, since the belt is rubber it will become softer and you should be able to slide it in the figure no problem
I just watched this vid so that I can give the ML Warlock BAF Cyclops a jacket. I'm going to use the arms & jacket from Old Man Logan, from the same wave. Good stuff.
Hey Clay, what about a female marvel figure? I have the 6" Captain Marvel and her ribcage joint feels like it's on a ball joint or something. Would you use the same method or something different?
Have you ever done this with a Star Wars The Clone Wars figure? They're smaller than your marvel figure and the torso is two parts. I only need to swap out the upper legs, any advice?
Nice video Clay! I was wondering, is it possible to pull the thigh swivel out without using any tools? Referencing the part of the leg you see at 8:17 . Like is it a simple lock in or is it a molded joint? I need to superglue the inside because my leg is loose, and I don't want to break it accidentally. Thank you!!
have u ever tried these methods on dcuc figures before? because i'm trying to disassemble my dc figure upper torso to be combined with marvel legends lower torso.
+Pseudo Sacred You might have to sculpt a bit to get the edges to line up perfectly, but most 6" bodies like that are pretty much the same. the pins that hold the two torso pieces together are just in different places. I haven't done as many dcuc figures. The legs are a bit different but, the sanding technique works on those.
if i want to pop back the pins in the elbow how do i do it ? i got a beetle figure with to right middle arms and the back of the 'left' one, is on the front ,, im thinking about turn it around
So I got a question and if you say I can't do this then I'm in some deep ass shit. I ripped off the legs, head, and neck of the halo elite minor. I'm weak and I can't snap it on. I usually ask my dad to snap on Lego arms and that's hard but this he could not do. I want to remove Marvel Legends Nightcrawler's head replace that elite head and neck with it. I tried to put the head back on the neck it won't snap back even though it had a ball joint and a socket. Same with the legs. This feels like the Rubix Cube I had I heard you can take it apart so I did and I couldn't put it back together even though I watched someone do it.
Excellent video. Gonna disassemble some of my Marvel figures this weekend. Can I use hot water? I live in China and I dont want to buy a heat gun and have to lug it back to Canada.
Around the hips and in the crotch yeah. The arms, elbows, and torso are on a plug like the hands and feet like in this video. I plan on doing a video soon to take one of those apart because I've gotten a lot of requests.
In theory, most modern figures are the same way, but may have different pegs in different places. Hasbro and Mattel make their figures like this now though.
+mikevale03 That will happen! Don't give up! Try and fix it, get some sculpt and super glue. Get creative with the way you fix it. I've repaired the torsos of many figures that I've broken.
I would think so. The trick is to drill the hole where the pins that hold the body together are. That's where the plastic is thickest and best place to pry from. The arms and legs are basically the same though. Both Hasbro
Is it possible for you to make this video but without insulting the figure and calling it demeaning names? It ended up making me just want to stop watching.
great video man!!!
finally a customiser showing step by step the right way to do custom figures
i really enjoyed these videos! its a shame there arent more of them! its informative for customizing figures but also has a funny commentary :D
looking forward for your next video man. keep it up !

Just heat up the figure with a hairdryer or hot water. Should pop right off
@@DeadgrinCustoms I tend to use hot water, because I don't want to melt my parts, or the figure.
@@ShinKamaitachi good idea

Can this body mold pop out the shoulder by only using heat? (without cracked open)
The boot will come off the bottom of the knee with heat too though right? I was going to switch boots out.

MrOrr......so very happy that you posted this.......lots of detail, like the jokes and the potty mouth

What about for something like the hyperion body mold?
Same technique, but the pegs in the inside of the torso are in different places.
would the hole drilling technique work on the odin wave scarlet witch?

How the best way to remove the boots?
Hey anyone or Clay Orr, What do you use to remove paint from action figures after put too many layers on it? Thanks!
