    Concise review. I like options of having to either use Bluetooth or wired. Wife can use these on her Apple 7 while I hook them into my Droid turbo 2. Also being able to turn off anc. Sweet. This is my(first) next pair of headphones.

      @vaux_manvv7520 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      QC35 are great but no comparison to these. I have both. Wierd thing is I thought the 550s would be uncomfortable but how wrong I was lol.

  • @h1a8
    @h1a8 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I had 2 major issues with these. First, My ears slightly rested on the hard drivers inside the earcup. After 30-40 min I start to feel a little pain. Sennheiser should have made the cushions a little more thicker (or pushed the drivers back a little deeper into the cup. That way the ear doesn’t touch the drivers at all.
    2nd issue was the low volume and lack of presence. This was easily fixed with club mode (which were designed for music).
    If the first issue wasn’t present then I would rank them as number 1 over the Bose qc35 as they sound slightly better than Bose qc35 in club mode.
    Lastly, when reviewing headphones you should always compare to the direct competitors. Otherwise the review is a bogus science.

  • @axeliandro
    @axeliandro 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    2:00 is it that good? I got them a week ago and it's...meh... Without music it feels like wearing just another headphones (like only blocking more sound with the cushions). I use them at home and there isn't a big difference, kinda disappointed, and I don't know if it's like they're not working properly since in every review it's said that anc is very good... But yeah, with music I can play it with some less volume to hear it properly, but without it I have to check if anc is on :/

    sir, how is the microphone call quality? can you provide a sample of your voice recorded using the 550 mic?

    • @jonathanjohnson9910
      @jonathanjohnson9910 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The mic quality is probably the best around giving that these are 2 years old. 2019 and its still hard for competitors to top all the quality put into these headphones collectively.

    Witch app do you use for controlling the sound please ?

  • @tde2019
    @tde2019 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Honestly, what sold these over the Bose QC 35 II’s for me was 1) the look of them - I don’t find the Bose an attractive pair of headphones. Rather, they look like cheap hunks of plastic 2) TOUCH CONTROLS (how cool!!) 3) I’ve heard the audio quality is better than the competitors
    I’ve heard the Bose are more comfortable and have better ANC, however. I can’t imagine that a pair of headphones as light as these could be uncomfortable though, but we’ll see as my pair are arriving in a few days.

    Hello Jaime, great review. Question: Do you know if there are replacement earpads that are more sweat or heat & humidity friendly? I live in Panama, and whilst I plan to use them mostly in places with AC, I might use them while commuting, and walking in and out of the Metro can be quite a sweaty experience. I know some manufacturers sell some kind of suede fabric pads that I think can work better on those occasions.

    Those look really nice, I'd prefer this Sennheiser or the Sony ones instead of he Bose qc35.
    But I can't have such thing for too long, it heats up my ears, I begin to sweat... ow hell, I traveled 15h from Kuala Lumpur to Amsterdam, with my IEM's (Sennheiser ie80) no way I could have done it with a on or over ear.
    Anyways, what's up with Sennheiser and 2,5mm cables? since my mm400 I've been suffering that.

  • @Jeffreelz

    I'm surprised your not really into wireless headphone Jaime, if you already loved the pxc 550. Wait till you tried the Sony MDR 1000X. Some reviewers claimed it has dethroned the previous king of wireless headphones which is the Bose QC35. And yeah, no other headphones yet have the solution to wind filter sad to say.

    If you're spending $400 for these, you might as well get HD650's(HDXX) or M1060 with vegan pads. Really no point spending this much on bluetooth headphones when bluetooth will limit what you can hear.

    • @Minwol
      @Minwol 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      SugarFreeTargets You don't understand the point of wireless noise cancelation headphones. These can be used everywhere and are very convenient. With the HD650 you need an amp and you can't use them in noisy environments. You are also tethered by a cable. Being able to pick these up and walk out is what makes them targeted at a completely different audience. Just like you can't really have a good speaker setup with a subwoofer in an apartment, you can't use the hd650 all the time. I do prefer IEMs because they do a better job at isolation like Etymotic, but some people want over ear.

    • @rxonmymind8362
      @rxonmymind8362 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      SugarFreeTargets
      650's are 300ohm. Not usable with cell phones. So be careful what you recommend. The 598's and lower models at 30 ohm, yes.

    I've been watching some pxc550s reviews over the last few months and having just bought them recently I've noticed lots of people have the head band really really expanded... I have mine one click out on each side at max. And I thought my head was average to even large... How big are all you reviewers heads?! Is it possible they've started producing the headphones in a different size since they were released?

      STD TV sadly it only able to pair one device at a time. That's the only gripe about the MDR 1000X. But they have a better implementation of touch sensor on the ear cup and better noise cancellation compared to PXC550. Sound wise arguably better than Bose QC35.

      Bose wins at comfort, sound quality is an other story.

      No. Only pair to one device?
      These I can use wired for myself the wife can use it via BT and pair it to her computer. That's a short list. The Sony was a deal breaker when I couldn't "share" them. It ALWAYS goes back to Sony's damn mentality of controlling what you listen to. Be it their code on damn CDs not being able to play on other devices to all their devices. I'm done with Sony.
