I picked these up and I've been really happy. ANC in an office environment is outstanding. They look great on the head and sound is perfect for me. Micro USB not that big of a deal.
does this cancel or reduces other people's voices if you're in the same room as them? I'm having trouble as my husband uses this and when we are both on a zoom call. His colleagues complain that they can hear me perfectly. I'm using the bose 700 and I don't have this problem.
Don’t agree with the noise cancelling turned off that they sound better. I also don’t think they don’t block as much as the Bose. I do think you really need to make sure you have to have these on your ear fitted really well on your ears and you will find a great noise cancellation. I bought them and love them! I couldn’t be happier. They are a little low on the frequency as I get near the top of the volume often. I rarely go all the way to the top of the volume and usually not for long. I mostly wear for watching tv these. I live next to a train track, have a heater/ a/c unit not far from the tv and noisy roomates and these block all of these noises. Switches back and forth between the two devices seamlessly. So comfortable as well. I have ear piercings and these have enough room in the cups that they do not bother my piercings. I tried several other headphones including the Bose 700’s and sent them all back. Keeping these! No lag and so comfy you can sleep in them! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Man the last sennheiser headphones i had were so long ago at least 9 yrs and boy did i love them! don't remember the model name but they were not even over ear cups they had a cloth like "foamy" feel to them but was not uncomfortable, most importantly they rocked in sound! I've been seeing/reading about the hype for a few years now so thanks for the detailed info on this model everything sounded sweet up until you graded the sound level quality.... I will keep searching for a model that has high sound levels for I am the type that loves his "Pump Up the Volume - Pump up the volume" lol
I have the original PXC-550’s and enjoyed them quite a bit however, once I bought the Sony XM3’s they took a back seat very quickly. I enjoy Sennheiser’s more when it comes to open back, I think that’s where they shine, I have the HD 598’s and my hands down favorite pair the HD 6XX.
@@drakthorianakatzaphquiel455 Agreed, traveling for personal consumption is where the PXC 550's shine. Since my last post I've incorporated the HD 600's, 650's, 660's, and 700's into my collection, all of which I prefer for at home use. I have since sold my PXC550's and moved on to Sony XM3's for traveling. Two other pair I use for traveling that don't have ANC but have an excellent seal effect are the Mr Speakers Alpha Dogs and Audeze EL-8. ANC does wonders to drown out low humming noises such as airplane engines or bus engines but they do mess with the sound profile so being able to find a pair of non ANC can with an excellent seal is my preferred choice.
I think the reason they changed the function of the no effects/club/movie/voice button is because of the common problem with the pxc 550 of when you plugged the jack in it could basically destroy the bluetooth ability! Making it non existent on the device. I know this as it happened to me and when I googled the problem there were numerous forums with the same problem. However after sending them back to sennheiser for repair they sent me the 550-II model as a replacement straight away no questions asked obviously accepting the failings of the first model. Micro USB and USB C are both USB interfaces, yes - but they're not the same thing - USB C has the potential for 4x the throughput of micro USB.

Bose 700 has a USB-C and Sonys ok, but they don't put the music off automaticaly, they has an even poor equalizer et they are less confortable, for, no doubt, the PXC 550 II is for me. @Ezugo Obuekwe I think he ment that wired it should work 24/7.
