    I am the person that created and put together this video. I complied it from hours of VHS tapes I recorded during the Ditka years following Super Bowl XX. Radio stations in Chicago have been using sound bites form this video since I originally posted it. I receive no recognition or credit for saving this material. I believe without this video most if not all of these comments and interviews would of been forgotten. TH-cam cancelled my original account for having copyrighted music playing in some of my other videos. Thanks for being one of a few who saved and re posted my video. Please do not be surprised if I post it again on my page. I am the one who created it.

      Buddy Ryan was the main cog!

    • @carlweaver3243
      @carlweaver3243 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Buddy Ryan was the DC for Neill Armstrong for four years before Ditka became HC of the Bears. In those four years, the Bears made one Playoff appearance and lost, albeit on a Controversial call early in the game. With that said, the Bears were still a Mess under Armstrong. They were playing Namby Pamby football. Halas hired Ditka to basically bring back the Toughness that Chicago was known for when Mike played. And He did just that. By His third season as HC of the Bears, they made the Playoffs and went to the Championship game. Next season, A Super Bowl Victory. Even though Ryan was kept as Ditka's DC in '82, it was Mike Ditka who got those Guys believing in Themselves and Playing as a Team that got Them to a Super Bowl Win.

    The worst thing is that the Bears especially with Dikta after they accomplished that success in the Super Bowl that they were victims of the high life. Doing all those commercials, being in the spotlight, and the inflated egos especially with Jim McMahon led to their lightning in a bottle. The sad thing is that in 1986 the defense was better than it was in 1985 but McMahon was hurt and the Charles Martin dirty body slam ended McMahon's season. Then Dikta going with Flutie and it upsetting the team chemistry. Being bounced by the Redskins who were the better team. Then the next year in 87 their best chance to host an NFC championship game where the Bears blew a 14-0 lead against the Redskins in playoffs and just were dead on offense. Then in 1988 getting to the NFC Championship and being owned by the 49ers. After a fast start in 1989 they collapsed with a losing record. 90 and 91 were just beat by better teams in the Giants and the Cowboys. That's why the 49ers won all those Super Bowls was because it was a team effort. No big egos that distracted the team. They were all about winning and the coaches kept the players feet on the ground. That's why they were able to win 4 Super Bowls in the 80's and the Bears could only muster 1. They have should have been in at least another one, but again they were victims of their own success.

      PRHILL9696 Look at the last two seasons, if he was a great quarterback he could have at least helped us to get a better record. I've never seen such a lazy attitude from a quarterback, and everytime I look at him I see someone on a commercial talking about dealing with depression. Have you ever seen a football player look as uninterested in playing the game than Jay Cutler?

      @AllusernamesgoneFUCK 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      PRHILL9696 So you're saying its the coaching staff? Well maybe you're right, I just went with what I saw and I didn't like it. Trubisky gives me hope though, and I think he can grow into a good quarterback if given the right advice. Go Bears!

    Ditka took the best football team Chicago has ever had and won one, that's right, ONE whole championship. And he wouldn't even have gotten that if it wasn't for Buddy Ryan. Ditka is a loser.

    Ditka was great at building a great football team but he seemed to less successful at maintaining a winner. Loved him as a player and always will be grateful to him for the 1985 Bears.
