That's the American Dream! Not like those news channels full of divisive tabloid content, that not only don't inform the people, they fulfill you with hatred and racism! God bless Dusty Rhodes!
I love when you see images of videos of young Dusty, at first your like " Damn Cody looks like Dusty ", then after you look for a bit.. Dustin looks exactly like Dusty.
Dusty was my favorite wrestler back then. So much charisma. Me and my dad would watch on TV in South Florida. Loved listening to him talk with Gordon Solie.
The rivalry with Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes was one of the best rivalries of the 80's. On one side you got Dusty Rhodes, son of a plumber, representing the middle class blue collar workers. On the other side, you have Ric Flair, with the lear jets, limos and the women, etc. Dusty had the shuck and jive soul type promo, Ric Flair always bragged about having the "biggest house on the biggest hill" and "kissed every woman in the world and made em cry" etc. Their world title matches against each other were always great. Dusty Rhodes and Ric Flair always brought out the best in each other but in the end, it all came down to who was the better man.
Dusty! Your son Cody finally finished his story!!! The Rhodes family finally has a WWE Championship to their legacy!!! Be very proud of your son!!!! RIP American Dream!!!
I remember this guy when I was a kid. I am late 40's now. My dad loved watching wrestling, he died a few years ago. Same year as my wife of 20 years, her favorite aunt, my favorite aunt.
He's great, but what I love more is his legacy. There's some huge figures in this business: mountains, continental sized egos, living breathing superheroes. And not one of them has a bad word to say about the Dream. Matter of fact, they all love the guy.
Not a bad word about Dusty? Ask Tommy Rich; The Rock n Roll Express; Baby Doll; The Road Warriors, and everybody else that was Over when he was booker, about how he had to work himself into their angles to take some of their shine. Ronnie Garvin even talked about it in a shoot interview, what an insecure guy Virgil was when it came to the cheering fans...

There were entertaining wrestlers before Dusty, but it was like he said, "I"m gonna take it to a new level." Which he did in the ring and on the microphone. The guy worked to make it all worth watching.

Dusty Rhodes, Briscoe Bros and Eddie Graham I watched as a kid Championship Wrestling from Florida at the Fort Hesterly Armory in Tampa
Man,I now like Dusty. I grew up watching Hogan, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and Undertaker. :)
I'm in my 50s and every match The American Dream had was awesome. Never wanted it to end . To The American Nightmare hope you can live up to your father's legacy. Long live The DREAM Baby. ❤ 🙏
The greatest, if you will!!
Saw him wrestleivw many times vs the great kabuki. Memorable matches I will remember forever. Long live the American Dream.
My Absolute favorite wrestler of all time.
Dusty will always be my favorite All Time Wrestler! ✊🏿
I look back on it now, When I was a kid, I actually thought Ric Flair was Jesus Christ. And, I thought if You loved Ric Flair, You had to hate Big Dust. And, If you Loved Big Dust, You had to hate Ric Flair...... I didn't know until Dusty died that the two were actually tight. I was a STUPID kid. Rip Dusty Rhodes! WOOOOO!
You weren't a stupid kid! That experience is just a testament to how good these two legends were at their job 🗣️
Not stupid thats how it was meant to be! They were supposed to be enemies on the stage
My all time favorite wrestler! Rest easy Dusty!
My favorite wrestler. It's so sad he is no longer with us. RIP, Dream.
I remember seeing the Wrestling Magazines as a Kid with Dusty and all that Blood and the Blonde Hair looked like a Horror Movie ...
Beautiful soul!!!
Jebus. His forehead is more scarred up than Bruiser Brody’s
Dusty was a beast, true, authentic and the real deal. luv him. May God bless him
Awesome
4:58 that segment took me out😂. Only Dusty could take a ribbing like that and get it over. The super genius, through osmosis babeh
those last words were the most powerful to me because near the end thats what every good man wants.
He was the real total package as far as being a great wrestler, booker and innovator He came up with Starcade and the Great American Bash
Virgil Riley Runnels Jr aka The American Dream Dusy Rhodes 👍💪
His run as booker before Turner bought JCP was the pinnacle of the industry.
When the Dream would hit the ring in Philadelphia at the old Civic Center the place would explode
The Rock of the 1980's
Do you smell ?
He was a big man but he was so fast for a big man just one of the best ever to get in the ring
They kept me divided emotionally in the 80's . I wanted to live like a horseman. But I could NOT stop cheering for the dream. Good times!
