I'm also using Pixel Experience Android 12 in realme 3 bought at ₹8,999 in june 2019....3GB/32GB....working smooth fine with november security patch with latest 4.14.258 kernel version.....

Keep this things in mind.
1. Open Bootloader.
2. Choose a compatible rom for your device.
3. See if it needed Vendor or Not.
4. See if it needs Gapps (Google Apps).
5. Choose perfect recovery.
6. Clear Cache, Dalvik, Art Cache.
7. Flash Custom Rom + Vendor (If your rom needs) + GAPPS (If your rom hasn't included in it).
8. Wait until the flashing process is done.
9. Then Wipe All Data or Format your data from recovery.
10. Reboot to system.
This steps might differ by system to system. Check if there is videos available for your device on TH-cam if not it is better to stop there 🛑

I've been installing custom roms since 2015 and to be honest the developers are very underrated the stability perfomance they provide is unmatchable. Even stock roms don't provide it.

Rooted phone can have better camera result when you use some modules. Usually results are better then official app.
eg. Gcam, ANX camera are two most popular camera modules for rooted phones
Anx better magic module hai but gcam port toh bina root ka vi ho jata hai because of camera2api support

Started using custom ROM at beginning of this year and boy I was so thrilled to experience it in multiple devices. Redmi Note 4 with pixel experience literally became brand new. Super fluid, smooth, fast AF! Then my Realme 6 Pro, currently running Pixel Extended Android 12. Such good performance, animations and fluidity. To be honest I still prefer stock ROM just because RUI is pretty good and with 6 working cameras in the device, Gcam doesn't support all of them. But the thrill comes at greater risk than I expected. However, now I am almost pro in this matter.

Rooting etc were a lot easier back at the time of Android lollipop. It's a bit more difficult nowadays, because of the increase in number of brands and options, developers have problem. And also the stock ui is good enough for most users. 👍

Just want to thank all the developers, Maintainers and Testers for their efforts towards custom roms cause of them we are able to use 3-4 year old devices with latest Updates, Features!😇🙏🙏
Once I went to a Samsung service centre and the guy asked whether my phone was rooted (he didn't know how to check 😂). I honestly replied with "yes" to which he said that he wouldn't be able to repair my device as my warranty was void. I took my phone, sat on the front chair just next to that guy, took five minutes and unrooted my device then and there and gave it back to him for repair. That guy, his colleagues and my friend were all dumbstruck 😂.
There is always a loophole if you're smart enough

Now on Realme X using OOS port and trust me. This device is super. Nobody can differentiate between Realme X and OnePlus 7 pro.
Hardware is also almost same. Just processer it underpowered.

I tried my first custom rom back in 2020 with my redmi note 7 and I was also concerned if my phone will be bricked or not but if you follow the right steps then you probably wouldn't brick ur phone unless u try out something fishy (cuz things got out of hand when I was first trying to install a custom rom from miui)
Using custom ROMs since 2015.
Started with Yu Yureka, then Redmi Note 3, 4, then Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Poco F1.
Great experience but only one issue is the time required. It is a time consuming affair. Most of the times newer updates require a clean flash to work properly.
Stable software from manufacturer with regular updates is always a better option.

Yureka was famous among custom os developers and users and some even bought the phone for development
I also agree with you that, a manufacturers update is always a better option because of constant bugs in a custom os,but when I look back I still get a urge to try new OSs. I also have Micromax in note 1 l, with which micromax tried to pull the cust om os stunt again by releasing kernel and source code. Unfortunately no develper took it because of low sales finally I have found some pixel os gonna try again.

I used custom roms first time when I was in 8th class. My father bought a new phone so i got his old Micromax Canvas A310. I always kept experimenting on it. Enjoyed pretty much every popular custom rom of that time like lineage os, ressurection remix and Omni os. Bricked my phone 2 time and got scolded from my father as well. 😅😂 But it was definitely fun.

Started using Custom Rom on my phone since June 4..arrow os ( 1st) felt great af. It's smooth & experience was good. Later havoc os then spark and after that Corvus. All provided me with Android 11 experience which my Asus dropped support with an unstable updates. All the roms I've used have minimum to 0 bugs and almost stable builds. Now I'm using Spark os A12. Which is great af. It gives the most battery backup/perf beast both on SE Linux enforcing mode.

Being a regular custom rom user i Totally agree with you but i have something to say regarding the camera stuff you are right that the camera that comes pre installed is very bad but there are miui camera port as well as gcam that takes very good pics and same or sometimes better than stock camera

I m using CorvusOS in my note 7 since 2019 and i m very happy with the performance that miui cant give. It was laggy while doing multitasking as of 3gb ram but ram management in custom roms are far better than miui.

I installed pixel experience plus on my k20 pro. But I updated once and whole system became so laggy I couldn't use it. Came back to miui rom. So people who are using custom rom, don't update it instantly. Wait and watch TH-cam videos about the new update. Great video Rakesh Bhai. I used to install custom roms since 2008-2009 with HTC Windows Mobile then did with Android too, now become older i left those, things now normal users, But you make me remember old memories..
Using Redmi note 5 since 3 years with custom rom....Best one was Havoc.... recently on Arrow OS community.... it's beast..... battery backup is amazing. And in my case gcam always produced better results than stock so I never used stock camera except for starting 3 months when I purchased the phone. And I don't think ki itna bhi hard hai recovery and bootloader ka.

Even if poco f1 will be relaunched with the same specifications, I'll buy it and the very next day I'll install pixel experience in it. F1 is still a beast just because of Pixel Experience ROM.

And great video by the way. I rooted my Videocon A54 way back in 2014, then Motorola Moto X Play in 2016 and the process went on and I can definitely say that it's a real chore. Plus the procedure for each product is quite different. But the end product is worth the trouble (mostly). So I definitely recommend it.

Tried almost all the roms available for poco x3 karna and finally settled on aosp a12 by gr (now I have other works to do😂) , smooth af great performance and almost no bugs. Using BSG GCam port and it's decent, not much a photographer so... Yeah it does the job

I was about to spend 12000 for redmi note 10 pro at exchange my redmi note 7 - 3 ,32 3 year old for the price of 4000.

Using custom roms since 5 years on xiaomi note 4, 7S and now poco x3 pro, i have to say xiaomi phones get the best rom development.
Also u also get the option to relock bootloader.
Thats why i always prefer xiaomi phones.

My mom is using Redmi note 10 with pixel experience gotta say . It's wayyyy smoother and fast as well . Even the Ram management has improved. I can live with it full day though I'm an OnePlus 8t user .

The only reason I bought Poco F1 was because of the Developer support it has... Poco F1 is the GOAT of Cuetom ROMs. And I rooted the very next day and I'm just more than satisfied with my phone. 😊

I had Mi A1 and Mi A2. They came with stock android and I loved it a lot. I wish Xiaomi could continue this again.
Using Derpest Rom Android 12, super stable and monthly update using one plus 5, no updates from OnePlus but still phone quite usable with A12. Gcam works charm if you use magisk. However no recommended to normal user, more for power users.

I don't think many people will prefer to install custom rom because of camera issues about which you said. Better to use Nova launcher but i don't do it because of one main reason that you don't get the default gestures and you have to live with tap buttons

Once an AOSP user, always an AOSP user. I have used many ROMs in Poco F1, but pixel experience is the most stable one. Custom ROM enhances the phones capability to full potential, add gives us added benefits and new features for free. Talking about camera, many companies are sharing their OG camera module, and Gcam on Poco is like heaven on earth, there are many Gcams too. So it might be a play along in starting but completely worth it. And for banking many ROMs pass the safety net these days, so no issue. My 4 year old phone is better or equal to almost all phone at its price point. Like my brother have samsung, but they don't have the latest security update and Android version as I have. I have been using Android 12 and waiting for 13 where many people are still stuck on 11. So guys who wanna explore custom ROM give it a shot, won't be disappointed. And if you brick your phone blame the guy in the mirror.

Honestly, it is very easy to get GCam for your phone, so the Camera downside is not applicable. Gcam photos are very good and sometimes even better than stock cams

After upgrading to lineage os 21 my conclusion on OnePlus 6T:
User Experience Buttery Smooth no doubt but several problem I've been facing:
1.proximity sensor not working.
2. Sound Quality decrease.
ANX camera is best alternative as it is very near to mi stock camera and gives the same experience as on miui
sir, try lineage os in poco f1 you will be amaze by seeing how good rom it would be the ota update is also supported its battery backup is lot better than pixel experience and xiaomi 😀
yeah..good bye to your data and privacy.But then xiaomi never had it so you are better off handing over the data to some developers rather than chinese.
