Unsure if it’s in operation but the building and exhibits are all still there to my knowledge.. something tells me it does open April to September but i could be wrong. Cheers. J
years ago I read Alan Sangster's excellent book on the Buchan line. I moved to Ellon in 1984 and couldn't believe that the line had only closed 5 years before. I remember looking around Maud station in 1985 and it was a total wreck so it is nice to see it done up. I certainly think there is mileage in getting a commuter line to Ellon. The fact that the Aberdeen-Inverurie line is being redoubled will provide the impetus to this. Unlike the Borders Line, this line could be built with very little compulsory purchase.
I hope this museum is still in operation. Hope to get up that way next year for a good walk about.
Thanks Alan for another gem.
Best Regards
Darren. 👍

bring back the railways......it would be amazing, and it would bring LIFE BACK INTO ALL THE VILLAGES!!!!
I enjoyed that. Glad to see the museum is doing well, and also to see some new (to me) footage of the F&B when it was operating. Many thanks.
NBL gold!
My uncle used to drive the fish trains fae Peterhead tae Haymarket Edinburgh where they'd change drivers for the London run???
Great video! Charlie Beaton, Woodside, Aberdeen

Beggars belief that this line was closed.
