Ten years ago I had Senegal parrot named Kiki and once she got loose in the back yard she wasn't a skilled flyer and didn't have her feather fully she was a partly clipped but a gust of wind she was gone she attempted to come back several times she cried for me to get her from the tree tops but at the end of the day we reunited she was so existed and proud of her self back then we didn't have flight harness that used for smaller birds I wish though she would of been very easy to train.
That is so cool for the bird! Wow I don't want to even mention it but with the amount of hawks in Brooklyn now I'd be too nervous doing that. I wish there were no threats like that, especially with such a neat bird and how beautifully you treat her! It's like with my dog, I would love so much to let him go for a run, but off leash dogs are such a serious issue I don't chance it. This is so cool that she hears you and comes back! But too many unknowns, even in a small park. I don't want to say that because I'm enjoying your videos so much, and only just am seeing them now. :)
amazing! i would never do that in the city where i live tho. we have smaller hawks standing guard on the antennas on the rooftops. couple of months ago i saw one eating a bird less than 30 feet away of my condo. my grey petrifies when he sees them in the distance through the window.
Michael, have you vaccinated your birds to protect them from diseases from wild birds in the park? What do you recommend as preventive health measures? Do you deworm them? Thanks, Florin.
Boy do I wish my 13yr old Senegal would do that! She free fly once, to the nightbors house and then to the ground, and when a Senegal goes to mowed lawn they are almost impossible to see. Just glad we got her back. What do you use as a treat for training? Not worried about a cooper's hawk or sharp shinned hawk?
Are parrots hard to train to free fly? Or what I mean is can a parrot be taught to fly farther than this and not get lost? I'd be so worried of loosing my bird but I know Homing pigeons (messenger pigeons) have been used to fly off and deliver messages to people far distances away and they never seem to get lost. I somehow think pigeons must be smart little hardy birds
My budgie Charlie wont even fly to me, doesn't want to come out of his cage and then when he does only either goes on my shoulder or flies off... What should I do?
-3 years old but o well spend more time with him and pet him a lot, and try to tame him. budgies need at least a couple of hours of being with you every day to be tame. speak to him aswell, as they need to get used to your voice. as for the flying part, you train him the "step up" command, simply place your finger near his chest and keep repeating that until he's learned if he still doesn't want to fly, put him on a perch high up and hold your hand out, with your other hand, give him a little push and he should fly to your finger if he's tame. if you want, you can keep repeating that, and when you think he's ready, he should be able to fly to your hand without you needing to give him a push.
That’s amazing! I’m thinking about getting a Senegal Parrot 🦜 but I just don’t know if I could ever train it to do this! I’m only a kid so it will be very very very hard 😬
How did you get Kili to to wear the harness without her biting it once it was on her? I watched all of your how to harness videos and my sun conure mango will let me put it on him with not much of a problem but after a few minutes he will start biting at it. I don't know what to do can you please help me?
My macaw tried to chew hers off but I just get her moving outside with me looking around at all the outdoor things. We hVe a nest of bald eagles nearby where we live I’ve even heard that hawks can kill a bird inside a cage. There was a poster who told the tragic story. He found the hawk on top of the cage and had grabbed the bird awful so I keep my macaw close to my chest almost whole way. She likes people and looking st the trees and bushes. I don’t let her get in the dirt cause it carries disease
they have to be tame and if you're letting them outside i recommend using a harness or flight suit.. i keep my green cheek in a cage with a lot of toys inside my room, but he's with me more of the time, since he's the exploring type if you don't want to do that then clip your parrot's wings :|
Outdoor freeflight Birds although birds love it and it is good for their mental health and well-being is very bad and unsafe due to the other comments about about hawks and other dangers I have been around birds for 30 years and this is a disturbing Trend that I'm seeing people tend to think their birds are toys like remote control airplanes in my opinion Birds should not be free flighted simply for their safety like I said a little earlier even though they do love it dogs also like to run in the street to not a good idea LOL
I can't wait till I can get my first bird so that I can train it to free flight outside and show it off to everyone but I'm only 15 so I have a while to wait yet.
RavenousReptile2001 lol if you want a bird just to show it off to people you probably shouldn't get one. Plus what he's doing in this video can take months or even years of dedication to training the bird. You gotta keep in mind that this guy is a professional who's been working with birds for years and years.
you already lost the other parrot once. if she gets scared by a truck or something else u loose her and she wouldnt be able to find the way back. its too risky
Gofur Adrian Shani It's skilled because it's outdoors, where they're lots of distractions and Dangers. But because the bird is so well trained and skilled it can get past those distractions and still fly to him.
I had a bee bee dwarf parrot as a kid and I used to free fly it in the backyard. It amazed my mother.
Whoever trained this bird is awesome.

Lovely to see this! Kili is very special, she has a very special owner!
How long have you been working with this bird?
lmao what a odd place to see this dude
That's so cool, but scary! I get worried just seeing how far you get from Kili.

just amazing to see how motivated she is!

That is so awesome. Does Kili ever get spooked by all the kids running around? I am sure Kili is used to all the action at the park.
How adorable I would be dying to hold the little birdy. Excellent job! Lucky you dont have a bird of prey problem around there.
how u do that bro teach me??
Wow , that is great, my Ringneck come to me when called, I would be nervous to let her outside though.

Very great trained parrot

Well I recommend waiting a bit until you get older and in the meantime you can do a lot of research because birds are difficult to take care of.
@@crowspears3265 yeh they are, I have already done loads of research but I’m gonna wait a little while longer.
how long did it take to train them to do that
Why doesn't he fly away?

My Perra' never turned back
what a cute parrot!!
It's like he doesn't really want anything to do with me
very impressive training but you chose a very grating call at least as far as my ears are concerned
Artie the Swolest Man in the World that's the point, so it travels far
You didn't learn your lesson WHEN you lost Truman, your Cape, this way!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
rip the kids in in the beginning 0:00 0:20
Wooow
She*
you already lost the other parrot once. if she gets scared by a truck or something else u loose her and she wouldnt be able to find the way back. its too risky
U r lucky guy
Kids seem too fascinated about kili, a parrot is really common..
I can takin bird outdoor
Hydro form far genral noleg farm
that's not skilled flying, it just Fly To Me.
Connor Anderson definetely easy. I trained birds with this kind of skill only need 3 days
Gofur Adrian Shani It's skilled because it's outdoors, where they're lots of distractions and Dangers. But because the bird is so well trained and skilled it can get past those distractions and still fly to him.
Not attracting any attention from the public at all....... xD dem random kids
Awesome... can you teach my Senegal "Sofrito" as well? Lol.. would love that...
